17 give or take a year. I don't remember cause I don't care. Define planned? Was it discussed, no. We were doing everything else so it's not like it was a surprise. It was amusing how it came about though. I think his brain was a little too stuck on sex because he basically imagined I told him to get condoms. I was listing some things I needed from the store and cough syrup (his mom smoked and I have asthma) might have been taken as condoms. So with neither of us having a license he borrowed his mom's car and said we are getting condoms. "what...?" Eh, whatever. Except when we got to the store he couldn't go buy them so I had to. Losing my virginity is not a big deal. I have no reason to regret it. That relationship did not go so well and maybe I would have been better off without it but it wasn't just the sex and it might have enough value as a learning experience.Comment

A pithy statement, indeed.
I was 17, she was 16. Maybe she did not "give" me hers; maybe I took it. Maybe she took mine. Perhaps we traded.
Anyway, we had been gf and bf for awhile and had been sexual - first for both - so it was just a natural progression. We both had a good time. Not really very awkward, stressful, or such. It remains a fond memory.
Perhaps if virginity can be "lost", by corollary it can be "found". I think I have found mine again at the start of each new relationship, and have bestowed it upon each new partnerI do not grow old; if I stop growing, I am old.Comment

I sort of like the idea that it's a gift we give each other. Male AND female. I don't get all swarmy (lol) when I think of mine either, but I think it's a pretty special thing and sort of wish more people thought that way, rather than that it's some filthy rash they need to "get rid of". Made me a little sad when I heard a teen girl referring to it that way. I hope that her philosophy on the matter isn't common.
I was 17, senior in HS and he was my ex-husband. We shared that together, and I have no regrets. Wouldn't have wanted it any other way or with anyone else.Comment

Well for me I was 13 in 8th grade it was a dare by the girl, I was with she was 15 as we was fooling around. Then ask me you know that can go in there as i am like duh I know that sex ed she like put it i there if you like and so on. This was pretty much the blind leading the blind. We was lucky because no condoms was used till the next time thank god. But we had fun with sex for a few months with condoms. It sure beat masturbation at that age. When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.Comment

Age 18 with a long term boyfriend. Sort of planned, no regrets. Sex triggered my period to start a bit early but boyfriend believed it was broken hymen....seriously? I have been horseback riding since I was 6, not to mention other activities...I seriously doubt I was still intact!“...choose to believe in your own myth
your own glamour
your own spell

(even if she is just pretending)
has everything....”

It was with my first husband, in a motel room.
I married a much older man in my teens. We had sex before the marriage.
I don't really regret it, because perhaps to get where I am, I had to make all those mistakes, including marrying him.
I think he's happy now, and so am I. We're still friends.Comment

My first time was was with my then BF of 6 months. We had been out celebrating my birthday and it happened unplanned, later that night, in the back of his car lol.. He was 21 and I had just turned 16 (legal age of consent in Aus) We ended up spending 9 years together. I have never had any regrets about it.
As far as advice for those considering. Just be ready, emotionally. Don't do it because everyone else is 'doing' it. Don't be coerced into it if you don't feel ready. Don't be fooled by words or professions of love. AND practice safe sex! Use a condom!

I was 18 and went back to my friends house party after a night out clubbing. She was a bit older than me and her 2 guy house mates were a little older again, at 25. I knew them from being on nights out etc and happened to really like one of them. At like 6 in the morning i went to lie down on the couch but the guy i liked asked if i wanted to go upstairs and spoon for a while and he would give me a lift home in a while.
Needless to say, stuff happened. I definitely dont regret it and we became friends with benefits for almost a year after that until i was completely in love with him and had to walk away because he only wanted a bit of fun. We stayed friends for a while but it fizzled out. I am actually happy i had that kind of relationship as i learnt a lot sexually from him and a lot about myself as a person. It sure as hell shaped the person i am today. And im also proud to say that after a few months of sleeping together i told him he was my first and he was in shock, i took that as a compliment :-)
When it comes to losing your virginity, i think its up to each person, if you feel ready and the other person respects you etc then why not. And if your in a loving relationship then all the better but its not always that simple so i think once your safe, use a condom etc and know what to expect then go for it. Your going to lose it eventually anyway :-)Comment
