Depression, even mild depression, can effect desire in so many ways. You may not be completely aware that you are feeling depressed. Doing some self examination and talking this through with your husband is an excellent start. The drug that has been referred to earlier in the thread is Flibanserin, which has recently been approved by the FDA despite significant concerns about effectiveness and its side effects, works on the brain . . . certainly indicating an emotional component.

FWIW, Flibanserin is not a female form of Viagra. Us men usually do not need artificial stimulation for our libidos (lol). Viagra was an attempt to cure an actual condition (ED) and works to increase blood flow to help create and sustain an erection. It is far easier to fix physical issues then emotional ones. Stimulating desire with medication is very tricky. I would try some of the more conventional desire enhancers . . . reading erotic literature or watching erotic movies together, learning how to touch each other, reading about different techniques . . . all,of,which may be far more helpful. Even couples therapy to cement the great foundation the two of you have may help.
      I'm not really sure...
i thought about it. Wanted to try and take depression pills but then i read that they might make me want it even less.

Antidepressants are the most horrible thing you can ever do to your sex drive.

What sort of antidepressants? Zoloft, by any chance?
I learned just this morning my wife's been taking Zoloft for the past 2 years. Any idea what sort of side effects it could have?

Antidepressants are known to kill the libido. I was prescribed Cymbalta for arthritis this past winter. Took it for two weeks, and it worked great for the arthritis. Unfortunately, I found I was unable to orgasm while on the medication. I went back to taking Tylenol Arthritis. Doesn't work as well, but . . . Thankfully, my ability to orgasm came back in a week or so after discontinuing the medication. I have read where others haven't been so lucky.

I was taking Cipralex. And it was really great except the sex drive part. I could hardly feel anything there, it became more or less as sensitive as your arm. Horrible!

I should be able to do it, don't you think?
