    Bad cramps after sex

Yesterday while I was having sex, I started to have very bad cramps in my uterus. It felt very tight and 10x worse then any cramps I get with my period. I am not pregnant and not supposed to get my period for 2 more weeks. I have a 7 year old son and my contractions when I went into labor didn't even come close to the pain I felt last night. I don't know if it was the position(on my knees with man behind-which we use often), but the cramps just kept getting worse. We tried different positions, but the cramping just wouldn't go away. By the time we finished, the pain and tightness in my lower abdomen was so bad I couldn't walk. It felt like I had hurt something internally. I took a hot shower and that didn't help. The pain was so bad that I started to get very naseous. I have never had pain like that before and I was very scared. The pain lasted about 30-40 minutes and went away with 800 mg of Ibuprofen. Today I am ok just a little sore but no bleeding or anything unusual. Can you give me any advice?????

It is possible that during sex, you tore or bruised something inside. Or, it is also possible that you have something going on in there like a cyst or something that would be irritated by sex. Some women also experience painful sex that is related to a problem with their hormones. Many women on birth control have painful sex as a side effect of the BC. The only way to be certain is to see a gynecologist. It sounds like it could be severe though, so I definately recommend seeing your doctor!

      Cramps After Intercourse

Hi, I read a few postings, and I, too, have experienced very painful cramps after intercourse. I am 44, but have never had children and have never had this problem. My life partner is 30 and is on an anti-anxiety drug which makes him go forever as far as intercourse goes. I'm not sure if this is part of the problem but, the longer we've been together, the worst the cramps have been getting. It actually hurts on one side sometimes like he's hitting something. so, my question is, has anyone else dealt with this. I mean, is it my age, is it the "banging" for long periods of time, or what? At first it seemed like it was only bad during the time right before my period, but now it seems like all the time? Please let me know if anyone else has had this experience, I would so appreciate it!!!!!

I too have cramps sometimes during but always after intercouse or orgasms. I was also recently diagnosed with cysts. You should go to the doc and find out whats the cause for this pain.

There are several factors that can cause pain after and during intercourse. They range from cysts all the way to taking birth control. Some women's pain is actually induced by their birth control medications. The only way to know for sure if it is normal pain or if there is a problem is to get a full exam by a gynecologist.

Ladies, get yourselves checked for cysts. I was having this same problem. I went to the gyno and she gave me a prescription for BC pills without even listening to what I had to say. Two weeks later I ended up in the ER with pain so bad I wanted to die. They found a 5cm cyst on my right ovary and a 3cm cyst on the left one that the gyno had failed to notice. How that's possible I don't know. I'm a very thin person so how she missed something the size of a peach I don't understand. ANYway, I guess what happens is that the cysts can twist and/or rupture and cause this pain.

                  bad cramps after

I've read everyones post about the bad cramps after sex. I've had them too for about a month or 2, after sex I get cramps (not like the cramp like after u run) but like cramps n my uterus area where all the parts r I get really nasuated and it feels really tight and uncomfortable and its not like normal cramps. I'm on birth control I've been on it for 3yrs so it couldn't be tht. And not too long ago I went to the bath rm and this clotty blood thing came out and tht was out the norm and lately I've been spotting regular red blood. So if any1 could give me a heads up on wht this could be it would be great.

I know this thread is old but this is the exact same thing i experienced last night, this describes it to a T. Im not on birth control, i have a 20 month old daughter, and these pains were worse than contractions. It happened to me once before about 6 months ago. It got so bad that i almost called an ambulance. The pain was unbareable, i thought i was going to puke. Today im having slight cramps similar to menstral cramps, but last night was the worse pain ive ever experienced in my life. Im really scared of what it might be, but its nice to read that im not alone.
