    another orgasm problem

Have questions about vibrator use or loss of sensitivity?

    We have more answers!

Read our full article, “Can Vibrators Desensitize Or Damage My Clitoris, Or Vagina?” here:

Hello!! I'm a newbie to this forums and I've been dying to ask someone about this issue that I'm too shy to ask my gyno.

I started masturbating very frequently at a young age and was able to reach amazing orgasms. However, I feel like I've lost sensation down there and whenever I masturbate, I have difficulty having pleasurable orgasms, if any. Could I have worn out my clitoris already? Will I ever be able to experience the same sensations as I did before? I'm only in my 20's and have never had sex and fear this could be a problem in the future.

    Thanks!!

I don't think you could wear out your clitoris. It is possible to cause it some damage if what you have done to it is very rough or abusive, but I doubt that this is the case.

Most likely, what's happening is that you are just growing up. As you grow up, your body changes. Your response to certain sexual activities changes as well. Sometimes the things that got you off a few years ago fail to hold the same luster today. I think this is much more likely to be your case.

If you're masturbating by rubbing your clitoris, why don't you try a vibrator? You may find that you have a newfound friend in the vibrator. If it's a vibrator you're using and it's gotten old to you, try the shower head. If that's old to you then there are hundreds of other ways or you ladies to do it that may renew your "O" for you (if you need specific advice, just tell us and we'll start coaching you in techniques!).

Don't worry about this. That's the biggest thing. My s/o has masturbated so much there is little question that if it was possible to wear out a clitoris she'd have worn hers out a long time ago and she's in her early 40's!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha. I'm really not kidding...really!!

    Cheers!

Yup, Fire is correct... im just adding my bit to make you feel reassured further more.

I cant reach orgasm through touch alone anymore, whereas back in my hayday i could just use my fingertips . Also, you might not have realised that your concerns are affecting your orgasms... so relax, fantastising works a treat for me too, so perhaps you could try that?

If masterbating isnt painful, then i dont think you have anything to worry about... as fire said, just change your method. Good luck.

Ive never had an orgasm through me or anyone else touching me!

While your here why not ask other people what they try?
For instance...In the film knocked up she uses the shower head (while its on)...try that? But make sure its not hot for god sakes

Or in sex and the city Samantha plonks herself under the bath tap and turns it on full power

Get a vibe? an innocent vibrating back massager?

Has anyone noticed if vibrators can make you less sensitive. It seems to have done this for my wife (and she thinks so as well). Maybe you get accostomed to the stronger sensations and can't orgasm from softer stimulation anymore.

Rcoreyus I have noticed for me that if I masturbate with a vibrator the night before, I have major problems reaching orgasm with my partner the next day...... I honestly dont know what it is, but I think its the excessive stimulation for me that does it...... who knows and as for the original post on this thread, I dont think it's possible to wear out your clitoris, because like you I have been masturbating since I was young and I am now in my early 20's, and I have no problem reaching an orgasm at all during sex, or even fore play. So it's really just what gets you stimulated.

Thank you all for your responses, they sure made me feel better about this whole situation. I think I will try the shower head idea because I am way too shy to buy a vibrator. Is there any way you can purchase one anonymously these days?

Oh yes, there are many internet sites - lovehoney is a personal favourite, in addition, the packaging is super discreet.

Read a study recently that had found that vibrator use can reduce a woman's responsiveness to touch. The body adjusts it's tollerance levels to stimulation. My lover saw a show recently dealing with women being able to cum without being touched, just with thought. Of course he's feeling men get the short end on this, needing direct stimulation, but you may try doing more with fantasy and the mental side of arousal.
