Sperosi, hmm, I'm pretty sure his intentions are always good. Does that mean his actions could be worked on??

sourpuss, heh, mine's like that too, gets all concerned when I'm in a bad mood. And yeah one of his favorite phrases is, "I'll try harder" or "I'll do better"... which is fine... Except I feel a little bit like it's a rehearsed phrase that has maybe worked to placate his ex girlfriends or something. I really don't feel like there's much meaning behind them. Especially since it seems that he says those things without actually first understanding what the problem is. Sigh.

oh dont expect any big changes, maybe some small ones on his own. some people can make big changes, but it usually takes something significant for that to happen.

i said it as more as a realization thing for you. some people try their best, but cant seem to do what the other person needs at the time.

I realized something about my situation yesterday. It's not so much his lack of affection that is bothering me because he is affectionate actually. If we pass in the hallway, he'll give me a kiss or tap me on the rear. He always wakes up and gives me a big hug and a kiss, he'll hold my hand when we're walking around, etc. But it's the fact that I feel like I can't be affectionate without him being uncomfortable about it or thinking I just want sex. So I'm always on edge when I feel the need to acknowledge my feelings with affection.

So this is huge, I think. There's got to be somewhere he and I can meet in the middle.

Mes, if he's concerned when you're unhappy, that's good. That at least shows that he does care about your happiness and how he may have an affect on that. I think it all just boils down to understanding one another and how we show and interpret the ways we show and receive affection.

GG, you do realize...even though you probably didn't mean for it to sound like it does, you pretty much just accused MesT of being completely shallow.
