And for those of us that won't read a book we know little about?

A quick summary perhaps? A conclusion?

There really are lots of books I should be reading before getting to sexual politics.

Robin Baker, a biologist working in England, based on Animal Behavior

Based on questionnaire data as well as analyses of hundreds of human ejaculates collected during masturbation and coitus, including many samples of the "flowback" from women's vaginas.

Belongs more in a sex thread, based on the content of the book of explicit and detailed descriptions.

He also states it is not Scientific rather gathering information and thoughts on the matter.

CW is a thread hijacker!!! There, I said it, we can move on.

_Sperm Wars_ is a very interesting book which starts with some interesting questions: 'Why does rape result in pregnancy more often than committed, loving relationships?"
"Why does 10% of the population of Britain not have the father they think they do?"
...and so on. Goes through the evolutionary biology theories related to our sexual behaviour. The edition I read explains things through about 10-15 stereotypical scenarios.

Unfortunately, even though it was on Oprah, it's been called pseudoscience. I think that the author is a popularizer rather, and on the whole a pretty enjoyable read. Yes, even the bits about cervical mucus. (Yes, I just wrote that sentence. Don't delete my post! Don't delete my post!! ) )

I would agree with the person who pointed at self-esteem as the huge issue in cheating. Cheating happens a lot of times I think because the cheater isn't getting something they want from a relationship. Doesn't mean they're right to want it (extra attention, for example), but that's the way the relationship crumbles....

I agree with Chandlers first reply. It comes down to MORALS. Anyone who knows me, ever read anything I posted I always said MORALS, VALUES, COOTH, as I have also said about being superficial, materialistic and well just plain old shallow.

I have many friends and most are women. And more of my friends have told me stories of theire relationships and it was always the female who cheated more than the male.
I have never cheated but have been cheated on more than once. I don't know why but it doesn't matter. The feeling of being cheated on plain ol sucks. But the next person who I will be involved in didn't have anything to do with the last one. So why would I do that to her for someone else's screw up. I wouldn't think of it.

anonymouswhitefemale said: woman are better liars. I certainly agree with that.
You women can so-call play the game better and can change the rules as you play, where as a guy, if we break or don't follow one rule we lose. and changing the rules forget it we can't b/c you women already did it.

rozz said: about guys not keeping it in their pants. well to counter you rozz, more women are not keeping thier legs closed. and more men are keeping it in thier pants b/c of the women who do what they do.

I personally think the women cheat more for so many reasons it actually unreal these days.

I think the trend is changing. Used to be men were out of the house more and putting themselves out there more in turn having more opportunity. These days, women are getting out more. True, women have more options but being cited as a reason women cheat more? Not sure I agree with this. Women are more emotionally vested when it comes to sex. More women than men "save" themselves for that special someone and when it comes to sex are more likely to try and keep that bond as a just between us or all for you thing.

Going on the reasoning that men are genetically designed to propogate the species thereby procreate as much as possible, it would seem to me that men are the ones that cheat more. This goes along with the reasoning of thats why they choose the young, fit females. Their male genetics drive them to think with their penis whereas women are looking for stable manly men to take care of them and their offspring. Not my POV but I have seen this logic on these boards before.

The women are better liars cracks me up. Yep, we lie better. We are more believable when we lie but that doesnt mean we do it more. Men have an uncanny knack of lieing by omission. Eg: Girlfriend finds out you slept with someone else over the weekend Vegas trip with the guys. Man comes clean, yep, I slept with someone else and they go from there but hey, he didnt mention that there were also two others he banged during the weekend. At least he didn't lie.
