wonder if those who do use the term "fall in love" also believe one can "fall out of love" ?

Yes, infatuation is the initial feeling you get when you're around someone you're attracted to physically and emotionally. You want to be around them all the time, you think about them, wonder what they're doing, etc. It's a great feeling. But what I've found is that love feels much different. It's a feeling of security and knowing that you don't have to try to impress them all the time, that they love you anyway. I love my boyfriend even when I hate him some days.

being parents have made us better people
I love him more since we became parents because of seeing that new side of him that didn't exist before

one bad thing though is I accidently called him Daddy the other day and our kid said
            "he's not your Daddy!"
am too used to saying "your Daddy" to our kid

I wonder if the reason is deeper than just a slip of the tongue.

The first time I was intimate with a woman I called her "Ma" by mistake. That had never happened to me before. The next time it happened was one of the first times I was intimate with my wife. I'm not real big into Freud or psychology in general and I try not to overthink things, but there's definitely some deep connection between romantic and parental love.

                don't know about that
we're too close in age for me to think of him that way
refer to him as Daddy with kid, so I think I say Daddy more now than his name, so need to use his name more

Still, I do think that is true moreso for men, than women. Certainly isn't uncommon.

Don't they say women tend to fall in love with men like their fathers?

Also, I'm older than the first person I was intimate with and the same age as my wife. I don't think of them as mother figures.

husband is polar opposite of my dad

I could say with 100% accuracy that I'd be divorced now if I'd married someone like my dad
