I completely agree with everything you've said, rcoreyus. The one thing I have a bit of a problem with is you saying that porn is usually shown in such a way that the acts portrayed seem to be enjoyed by both parties. I actually think that's sort of one of the biggest problems with porn. It shows all of these completely outlandish situations (3,4,5 men inside one woman, etc.) and then shows the woman "enjoying" it. Now, I don't know a single woman who would enjoy that. It would be EXTREMELY painful...What's your opinion on porn portraying something that would be extermely physically hurtful to a woman (in general, there are always a few exceptions) and making it seem erotic and sexy? I can't imagine anything LESS sexy than watching people be physically hurt during sex. Why do you think that's seen as sexy by a lot of men? -
My view, is that it should be discussed between the couple. I myself like to read erotica, that is a form of porn. Is it bad ? I don't think so. I have watched porn in the past with my S/O, but I always felt insecure, because the women always had these huge , flat tummy, perky , so then of course you compare yourself, and you want to hide under the covers. But I was always judging myself too harshly, my S/o always thought I compared quite nicely. You do get alot of new ideas and it is fun. Got to admit. I don't think there is anything wrong with popping in a DVD on a Sat night and enjoying it, but when it becomes an everyday thing, when alot of your leisure time is spent watching it, then I think it becomes problematic.
I personally wouldn't like my S/O to spend hours at a time watching it. That would worry me.Comment

Porn is a fantasy. Some of the acts shown in porn would be uncomfortable in real life, but I think it is a simplistic, if one man is good, 3 would be better. There may even be people who enjoy that sort of thing. Certainly some women enjoy fisting -though most would find it impossible and / or painful.
I think of it the same way as a Conan movie. Riding across the frozen wastes with a horde of barbarians at your call, and fighting the evil-doers of the world is a fine fantasy. The reality of cold, hunger, disease, festering wounds, etc would not be much fun.
There are also people who enjoy pain during sex - not even that uncommon. As long as it is safe sane consensual, I have no problem.
I should make it clear that I am opposed to any porn where the actors are in any way coerced into doing something they don't want to do.
There is a problem that porn may cause people to think some acts are more common, and more enjoyable than they are in real life. But I think this is a problem with any fiction.
BTW, I haven't seen a lot of porn. Are the "outlandish" things very common, or are they for a niche market? Does porn aimed a women tend toward any unusual behavior?

I WANT MY POST DELETED! I also want to cancel my account. I dont' care if I"m banned. In fact I want to be! I said nothing wrong here. Nothing. Your old posts about porn are similar to this new one. Above it says please post if you want to get anything off your chest. I don't want my views on this board and don't want to share here. I want off and I want my post removed! This site is not for women to be honest. I'm speaking for women who are afraid to speak. In the old post on porn most of the women spoke out and how much they loathed porn and how degraded they felt. Ladies go read those old post!
Enjoy your porn! Ugh!Comment

pixiegirl, just so you know, the "above post", was from me, not Little - we are most definitely not the same person - though I appreciate her posts and she seems like someone I would like in the real world.
This is a discussion group, and so you will hear all sides (and there are a lot more than 2) on every issue. Porn in particular is very divisive. I've found past discussions very useful in understanding other points of view.
In general I think it is good to hear other sides on an issue - even one you believe in very strongly. Usually if a large number of people believe in something, they are not simply being stupid or unreasonable, but have a different viewpoint. That doesn't mean you need to agree with them - after careful consideration you may decide that you have been right all along, but at least you will have given them a fair chance.
Some years ago I was in a foreign county where there had been serious ethnic violence. I found it fascinating to talk to the locals and to hear their view on the situation. It absolutely didn't convince me that ethnic-cleansing was a good thing, I still think it is a terrible crime - but now I have a better understanding of why people do it.
On another case, after a very sheltered upbringing, I met someone who was openly gay. I talked with them for a while and realized that my anti-gay feelings (taught from childhood) had no rational basis, and that I had no objections at all.
I hope you will stay on the discussion group - there are a lot of different opinions here, and some of the posters have thought a lot about various issues.Comment

Welcome to the website Pixiegirl. Perhaps this thread would have got more appropriate responses had you named it: "Do you think that porn is bad or bad?"
If you ask publicly for opinions, that is exactly what you will get. From what I've seen around here, many people that don't have a solid hold on their beliefs like to challenge opposing opinions for a) not being women b) multiple people being the same person. Seeing those two points is usually a pretty good indication that a discussion is not worth having with that person, as they have a totally closed mind.
I would also point out that once you post, you have posted. I do not believe that you can have your threads deleted because it doesn't go the way that you wanted it to go. As for old porno threads, they were pretty much dominated by a christian guy (wilhelm) forcing his morals onto everyone else, women seem more like 50/50 on the issue.
As for complaining about peoples' rudeness, perhaps you should read your response to WildChilds first post. Personally, I can't really be bothered to point out all of the unreasonable things you mentioned, anyway, others have already done that.
As for the topic itself? Porn is neither good nor bad. It just is. If you've got a problem with it you've got a problem with it. If you do, the chances is are it's from a certain type of upbringing or other personal reasons, which you have to understand not everyone will share.Comment

I personally dont think that porn is a bad thing......as long as it is viewed in a descent kind of way.
I have watched porn with my hubby....we both agree and neither of us take it any further than what we do with it as a couple.
sometimes porn can enhance a relationship and give it a new direction....add a little spark to the flame so to say.
but i also think that to each his/her own. some people are comfortable with it....and some are. I say just do with it as u want...if u like it then watch it...if not, then dont.Comment

We welcome new members here, in-fact we obtain them daily, therefore, a "new thread" may in-deed attract "new opinions/thoughts"...I WANT MY POST DELETED! I also want to cancel my account. Opinions are shared, being one sided on your opinions surely is not going to assist anyone, as there is nothing to discuss, it's simply a blatent one sided view then isn't it.
May I suggest that you go into the Lounge there is an excellent thread called "venting" where you can therefore get things off your chest...
