karoper, thanks for your support. I post on the forums because when I had my procedure there was so little info about problems. I had too really search hard to find any info about the essure procedure except what the company had put out. I kept looking and finally found a couple of forums beginning to have some women posting about some possible problems. They helped me so much. I was scared, hurting and being told it was all in my head. Their support helped me get the help I needed and I will forever be grateful to them. My hope is that we can help other women who are having problems to know that it is their body and they know how they feel. That it is not always in their head. That even if they have had the procedure they are not alone if they have problems.

      se73,
Our situations are a little different because my body rejected both of the coils. Because of that, I insisted on having them removed! I think that my body didn't like them at all! You might want to talk to your doctor about it and see what he/she says. Also, it depends on how you feel about leaving it in there. My body was obviously ticked off and now I am going to have a Hysteroscopy on Oct. 1st to have them removed. Hopefully he will be able to remove both of them in tact... but nothing is guaranteed. I wish you the best of luck with your situaiton and please keep me posted on how you are doing

I also wanted to say thank you kym4 for all of your support! This has been a tough time for me and no one I know has any idea what I have been going through! If it wasn't for you, I am not sure that I would be this strong and confident in the choices that I have made. You have given me hope that I will make it through this nightmare and you let me know that I was able to stand up for myself and insist on having them removed. Thank you again!!!! Your story and your advice will always be greatly appreciated!!!!

Well, I have an infection at the site on my left side. Its swollen enough she could feel it today. The CT scan showed normal placement, but just had the side effect of infection. She wants to do an HSG in a few days to check that way. Then if they cant find the cause of the pain after the antibiotics work then I have to have a Laproscopic procedure done to actually LOOK in there. Until the pain stops I'm on percacept at night and tramadol during the day. Honestly if I had known all of this was going to happen I would have just had the darn tubal done.

I had the prodedure done February of 2009. I went back for the dye test in May. They took three x-rays and confirmed through the doc and radiologist the the procedure worked. Ok went to the doctor last week and i am 5 weeks pregnant. I already have 3 kids, 16,12,& 8. The whole reason for the essuree was because i was too busy to have a regular tubal and have to take days to recuperate! So instead I am pregnant again, starting all over again, and all my doctor says is "Well I'm sorry, don't know what happened". I need to know if anyone out there is pregnant or has been through this and carried full term. What sort of complications arose during the pregnancy due to the essure? Did you deliver vaginally or did they have to do a c-section. Help.

traday, I have read some articles and posts on pregnancy with essure and all that I found had normal pregnancys. Key in essure pregnancy and look for an article about it from the ob/gyn journal. Please report your pregnancy to the FDA. You can key in maude FDA and it will have a place to report adverse events. It is kind of confusing to fill out. Let me know if you have any questions.

I really strongly urge anyone having problems to make those reports to the FDA. The company nor the doctors seem to be doing it and I'm afraid that if we don't make them ourselves then it will take a lot longer for them to admit that this procedure has problems.

Please keep us posted on your pregnancy. Other women need to know what happens if you do become pregnant with the essure metal coils.

Had my hysteroscopy last week to have the essure coils removed out of my uterus, but he could only get one of them. That means that one of them will have to stay in there forever! Has anyone heard of any complications later on if it is stuck in your uterus?
