I only recently found this site, but I wish I had found it a year ago. I feel so bad for my 21 year old daughter. I have never seen so many woman with this problem there has got to be something that links all of you together. I have taken my daughter to endocrynologist, electrolosis, dermatologist, and she has had ultrasounds on her ovaries, ultrasounds on her thyroid, blood test
the works, and the doctors cannot give her any explanation. Her electroloysis I think had the answer. Birth Control Pills that mess up the hormones allowing male hormones to produce. I read a couple of other threads concerning birth control and how when they stopped taking them the hair started to grow. There must be someway that we can put our heads together and come up with some common link between us all. Me myself I have never taken a bc pill, but there has got to be one common link.
I am going to do some research on my daughter's pill ortho tri-cyclen lo.
Were any of you taking this bc pill?

I don't know how to start a thread, so I will ask my question this way. Has anyone tried a hair removal system called Finally Free? It claims to remove hair painlessly and permanently, but I don't know anyone who has tried it, and I would like to use it on my face..cheeks and lip. I would appreciate any info on this. Thanks.

        me toooo!!

ahhhh what a relief i've found some people who suffer with the same problem.
I have blonde hair and i have lots of downy type hair on my cheeks and its thick! If i wear make up of go in the daylight or sunlight it just looks ridiculous and soooo un attractive.
I can see people looking when they talk to me and it's very upsetting and frustrating.
I also have thicker hair on my chin and under my neck that i have shaved for the last year which i know is wrong but it's just a quick 5 seconds every morning.
I have heard of threading and bought an epicare. It's the at home threader and it was cheap and arrived quickly and i used it on my chin and it wasn't that painfull and it definately worked. It must be like waxing becaue the hair definately grew back.So it's something you have to keep up.
I tried abit on my cheek which is the main bit i want to get rid of and it was very painfull as my whole cheek pretty much is covered. It hurt so much that i didn't carry on and i have left it till now but i'm getting sooooooo bothered by it now that tonight i'm gunna go for it.
I'm worried that it may grow back badly or thicker so i'm a little scared.
Laser treatment doesnt work on fine fair hair so i don't know what any other answer could be.What is this finally free thing you're talking about?

Beauty creams and lotions won't deter her. If you want to tame her and have her act nice to you, you will have to feed her or feed yourself (she doesn't mind) the right foods and drinks so that she doesn't release a mean report on your face in the form of acne and unwanted facial hair. Sometimes if you feed her real nice she'll make sure you never have to spend a dime on a drug or beauty product.

I did take the bc pill after my first child. The best part was that it took care of my acne problem, for the most part. However I noticed when I switched to an IUD my acne came back and I started to get hair growth that wasn't there before (I've never made that connection before, but thinking back it's accurate).

At the beginning of 2009 I ended up taking bc pill on top of my IUD to try to handle my cysts problem. Unfortunately I spent the better part of six months bleeding to realize that combining bc pills and IUD is a bad idea. I loved having no acne, but I'd prefer to not be constantly bleeding. During this time I wasn't really paying much attention to my hair growth, but I believe it either got slightly better or it just stayed the same (not sure which it is).

Currently I still have the IUD in. On a side note the gyn did say that the IUD is slightly poking my uterus but he insisted that it isn't a problem. It's been about six months since I stopped taking the bc pills and I just noticed more hair growth.

For me the hair growth is located only on one nipple is black and thick. I actually have light brown hair that is thin (my leg hair is the same and my eye brows are about the same as well) however everywhere else that I get growth it always is black and thick. The worst part of all is the chin hair.

At first it appeared after the first round of bc pills when I first put in the IUD (at 22 years old). It was only one or two stray hairs on my chin and on my nipples. I regularly trimmed them because I was deathy afraid that if I plucked it would grow in even thicker or more of them.

After the second round of bc pills (at 25 years old) with my IUD... I'm not seeing any change in the nipple hair growth, but I am seeing a drastic change in my chin hair. It went from one or two random stray hairs to now I could really notice them. I'm still just trimming, but i'm hoping there is a better solution out there.

Perhaps when I get a better job then I'll see about the electrolysis as I don't care about how painful it is, I just want it gone at any cost aside from horrible scars.

                Threading

Your best option is to find someone who knows how to thread your facial hair. It is the safest and most affordable way and it also produce great results. If you have never heard of threading google the term threading or lookup it up on youtube.

What ever you do don't wax or shave!!

Knows the pain of facial hair

I have been constantly embarrassed by the facial hair that i have on my upper lip, chin, sides of my face and neck since i began puberty and around then was when i began to shave my face, not knowing that a life time of shaving would follow. As a woman it is extremely uncomfortable to have dark coarse hair showing up on different parts of my face and the amount of energy spent on trying to hide it, has to put it bluntly, made my life very difficult . I constantly try to hide it and i refuse to let my fiance touch my face if i have not yet shaved that day. My wedding is coming up in May and I would LOVE to not have to worry if i going to have inspect my face nervously before the ceremony! It's not like there is a lot of it but it is visible to myself and people i let close enough to me and they comment what is on your face it looks like you've got something on it. I am 31 and have dealt with this since i was 12.

so it is true then that if you start shaving you will have to keep doing it ? will it also turn the finer hairs dark ? im 28 and been battling the shame of excess hair for the past 3 years but due to not having had a problem at all before this it was quite a shock ! i feel like my kids and husband are embarrassed of me but they dont really comment on it as such ( could be partly paranoia ). i have long blonde hairs covering my cheeks and chin with a scattering of dark chin and upper lip hairs. i feel i look like a freak as i dont see this on others. i would have to shave to get rid of it all but am terrified to do this. this is ruining my marriage but i just cant feel feminine like this. does anyone else feel this way ?

No, shaving does not cause increased growth. It's an optical illusion, caused primarily by the fact that shaving cuts the hair at an angle and makes the tip appear wider than the rest of the shaft.

Why is it ruining your marriage? Because you're worried that your family is embarrassed?

If you are suddenly growing more hair than usual, you may want to schedule an appointment with your gyno, because it could be a sign of a hormone imbalanced caused by something like PCOS.
