i am turning 34 next month and i have these same issues. honestly it goes back as far as i can remember esp when i was a late teen and became more involved with guys but not totally sexually active. i have had two children. my first a girl. my second a boy. i was much relieved as my pregnancy with her totally cut off the water supply and eliminated all irritating and painful symptoms. with my son, oh my heavens. it made it worse. which makes me wonder is the solution the hormone that is increased with a female pregnancy. and less of the hormone that is increased when we carry a male child. any similar experiences? however now, going into my "prime" as they say, is the solution really as simple as more satisfying and fulflling (spiritually and emotionally not just physically)sexual activity? (for those who are of proper age and/or married.) i have been married twice, and as clueless as we may think men are, both of them have at some point told me, the symptoms subside after substancial activity. i have personally seen that to be so part of the time. i have some theories i wish i could discuss with an expert by experience, not simply bc of being a doctor. fyi to any who may need this, at my local health food store, there is such a thing as natural sea sponge tampons... i wanted to try for my cycle and they were fine esp if you are not easily grossed out by your own body and all it secretes... but i think they are best used for this issue. this is what i use alot, but if you go this route, check it often bc if you sneeze, cough, etc.. and the contractions that come with it, you are squeezing a wet sponge.... lol. it does cut down on the irritation of wetness to the externals of that region of your body.

Hello. I have the same issue. I do not bellieve anything can completely cease your agonizing sypmtoms, however, I do believe relaxing, excersizing, eating healthy, and again relaxing, will help you become happier. I share the same depressing feelings, but we only have one life to live so if we worry over the suck-ish parts, life will suck. I hope your taking this into consideration.

Thanks to the person who suggested the pro biotic !!!!

I also have this same issue. Sometimes when i don't wear underwear i have stood and started walking and literally felt it gush out and run all the way down my leg. it is def worse when i wear thong underwear which is what is most comfortable to wear since i don't like underwear that bunches and I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not satisfied with settling into the idea that I have to wear a panty liner or (god forbid) a F_ _ _ _ _ tampon every freaking day for the rest of my life. I am soooooo excited about the post suggesting the probiotic. This is a totally new approach that makes sense so I am going to try it as soon as i can. Thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread. It is encouraging to know I'm not malfunctioning or all alone in this unfortunate affliction and I wish every one a swift release from this and you will all be in my prayers good luck to all. and thanks for listening if you read my post/.

I'm 28 and have had vaginal discharge since i got my period at 13yrs. I've been treated for yeast infection serveral time and finally the doctor told me that it was normal for me to have vaginal discharge during ovulation. So I settle with the idea and use plenty of panty liners. With time I started to feel a crapming pain duriing ovulation. I went back to the doctor who recommended birth control pill and that was the end of vaginal discharge for me. I didnt' gain weight. I've had an increase in migraines but they are manageble and very predictable (with my period). I hope it helps.

            Mixed Emotions

I have mixed emotions, because I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm at the point where I was going to go see my doctor, but from my research, it seems that its natural and nothing can really be done. I do not usually wear underwear, especially in the summer, because the amount of discharge basically pools in my underwear and by the end of a long day, its not a good feeling or smell. There is no smell normally and the discharge is clear, vaginal wetness but if you took a damp shirt out of the dryer early and wore it outside in the hot sun all day, its not going to smell well either. I just turned 35, and for the last few months, its become dangerous to go out with no panties, because I will have moments of gushing wetness that run or drip down my leg as I walk. I have to dip into random bathrooms to wipe myself and a few minutes later its like I never wiped. I understand everyone's annoyance with people saying its a good thing...yes its great to be wet during intercourse, but its not great driving down the street or like right now when I'm on the sofa typing on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have the lack of sensitivity because of it, but I do find that I can't "help out" my orgasm by playing with myself during because everything is too wet to sustain any kind of friction. I think the fact that my partners are larger also help with that. I really wanted an easy fix, because I'm tired of always being wet, always having to check for odor and wet spots and having to take multiple showers per day. I hate wearing underwear, but it looks like that's where I'm headed. I have put in tampons before thinking that my period was starting and that did stop it, but I don't really want to wear one daily...guess its an option I should consider though. The stress and fitness aspects are new to me...I'm definitely stressed, but it seems weird that it would affect my vagina... Aside from the irritation (mental and actual) of being constantly wet, I think what I dislike most is that this type of dischage is supposed to be associated with arousal, so when I am aroused, its no big deal...I'm always ready, but I'm not really...

I have the same issues with discharge. I am 34, have never been pregnant and am not sexually active. Some months seem worse than others. At the moment, there is about 15 mls a day of it that's a couple of tablespoons, it is thick white and sometimes off-white clumpy stuff or thin watery or both. It goes right through my clothes and saturates my underpants. It's cold and wet and uncomfortable all day. And I too have to frequently rush to the toilet when I feel a lot of it. There is no bad smell or itchiness. I have had ultra-sound scans of my uterus before that shows excessive fluid in my uterus, but was told this is not too uncommon. I think it's hormonal. You might want to try the contraceptive pill. I was on it from age 14-15, but for me it made discharge thicker and heavier, but some people have better results. I was put on the pill again recently to help with heavy periods and severe pain, but it made me hemorrhage for two weeks, and I became very ill, this is a rare reaction though. The doctor suggested Mirena, a hormone releasing device that goes inside the uterus, but I decided against it for now. The only suggestion I have that really helps, is using a medical grade silicone menstrual cup, I use this mostly for periods instead of unsanitary and costly things like tampons and pads, but it's safe and comfortable to use at any time, it;s also a good way to keep an eye on the consistency and amount of discharge, for discharge you can leave it in for 12 hours or more with no health risks, but I prefer to clean mine regularly. A cup helps also to keep a close eye on the rate of flow and the consistency, you can work out patterns from month to month. Menstrual cups are not for everyone, they require some getting use to, but the best time to practice when you don't have your period. When you use the cup properly you won't even know it's there, and no more mess in your panties.

Wear a liner at all times, that's what I do. It covers the smell, if there's any and you don't get as wet.

Wow! It's awesome knowing this happens to so many of us females. I've been having excessive discharge for a few years now. It sucks but I have to say it started after my yeast infection. Therefore I felt like my yeast infection never fully went away, however two doctors so far have told me I did not have a yeast infection anymore and that my discharge was normal. But I just hate the white chalky marks it leaves on my underwear. My worst nightmare is having someone find a pair of my underwear, which would be so likely considering I do Vegas trips and what not with friends.

As for sexual relationships, I definitely would not worry about that. I've been sexually active since I've had this issue, I just have to struggle a little bit more to hide my underwear. But honestly, by the time your sexual partner is taking your underwear off, the last thing he is thinking about or wanting to look at is your underwear. He'll be so caught up in having sex or foreplay with you that he will not notice your underwear. I've never had any man notice and by the time you guys are done having sex, you can easily snatch your undies. But seriously, the last thing your guy or girl is going to notice is your underwear, they don't care about that. Butt....sometimes if there has been a lot of discharge I'll go to the bathroom and wipe off that "nasty discharge area" in my underwear with some water (sometimes soap if it's really bad) and waa laa it's all gone.

Somehow we have to make it known that this is just normal and not nasty. I'm pretty confident with it now that if my boyfriend were to see it, I'd simply explain that it's just my discharge. I guess we just have to accept it and then it becomes easier to bare.

But...definitely going to try the probiotic supplement. I just hate ruining my panties. When I take off my panties I like to see them nice and clean. Good luck everyone!!!

It's so comforting to realise just how common this problem is. I'm 38 and have always had discharge and yes, I've had all the tests more than once too and all come back clear - it's just me I'm told. My discharge can vary in consistency depending where in my cycle I am and although not particularly unpleasant sometimes it definitely has an odour. Nice underwear becomes stained and I often wear pantyliners. The thing is though, rather than getting more used to it I'm getting more ****ed off with it if anything. I had a baby 4yrs ago and I think it's increased since then but couldn't say for sure. I've been single for a few years now and am far more conscious about it than last time I was single back in my 20's!

I thought there was something wrong with me - I had no idea so many of you have the same problem. I'm 28 and have had constant vaginal discharge since I was 13 or so. From what I learned in health class, I thought discharge only occurred a few days before your period. I wasn't sexually active until my early 20s and it was then that I first went to a gyno. Of course, he told me everything was normal I've tried eating yogurt, drinking more water, cutting way back on sugar but nothing helps. I don't get a whole lot of discharge in the morning or at night but during the afternoon it's a mess. I find myself always running to the restroom just to wipe it away before it hits my undies - it's so uncomfy to be in damp, cold undies while at work. I wear pantyliners sometimes but they get irritating after awhile. When the discharge is really heavy I'll wear a light tampon even though I know you're not supposed to...it's the only time I can really go about the day without worrying about what's going on down there. I can't help but feeling self conscious during sex even if I am showered and squeaky clean. The more I think about it, the more I realize just how much this issue has affected my life!
