viola again I dunno i find the food thing being hard to believe for the vaginal areas, also yeah ive heard of a yeast protein allergy its rare and its an easy test to get done if you think you have it. But a person who suffers from a yeast allergy more than likely has Allergies Type 1 or Contact Allergies. This is a reaction that is caused by proteins that can be found in yeast. The immune system overreacts; therefore producing allergic reactions. Histamines and antibodies are released into the blood stream in an effort to stamp out yeast proteins; eventually these chemicals will trigger allergic symptoms.
Reactions occur within a few minutes to hours for those who suffer from a yeast allergy. Infections that is mild to moderate last for a day or so, involving cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, wheezing, coughing, and watery eyes. Usual with the yeast protein allergy its within minutes of consuming any sort of yeast. How do you treat it you don't eat any sort of yeast product, but again in the vaginal I'm not sure about that one its not as likely to have the protein allergy down there...may need to look into other options for your vaginal inflammation. Hope though you find an answer!

Have you changed laundry detergents things like that perfumes, soaps, etc.. and such.. I'd think reasonable for any sort of vaginal allergy. You haven't had this vaginal thing your whole life it sorta came on sudden so allergies are not as likely for you unless you changed some sort of soap etc.. cause you have been eating prob the same way for years without problems. You may have some other vaginal condition or just a simple ph imbalance, hormonal imbalance, or just a really bad yeast infection that wont give up I had one once that took a month to kill but eventual got it. I get yeast infections every single period cycle-meaning my yeast is hormonal, so I have to be ready to fight. I have set up a regimen that keeps me yeast free now for 4 yrs. I am also on birth control which increases yeast infections- hormones. So i have to be ready

missbutterfly thats true hormones can cause yeast, I also have seen them happen around periods it's hormonal yeast infections. You know you can't do much about it either cause its a no win situation. You can't help your hormones unless you want to take hormones. Yet taking Birth Control to help your hormones doesnt really help you much because Birth Control also can cause yeast infections. Hehe! That makes it a no win. I guess the best you can do is just find a routine that will work for you that will help your hormones which will in return control the recur of yeast or just find a battle combat routine that will kill the yeast and irritation you get with each hormonal cycle. Hormones do a lot to your body don't cross them out!Last edited by CVSTINKS; 01-11-2011, 03:06 PM.Comment

Hey MissButterfly, no, I'm not on birth control pills, never have taken them. so that's out. Don't use perfumes, just sensitive skin soaps. The dermatologist today told me to ONLY use Cetaphil when washing, and I use it for my face. I've had my hormones checked, and they are fine for my age. Even laundry detergent is unscented, sensitive skin stuff.....Today is the last day of my meds, so we'll see. I put some of the cream on that the derm gave me. Don't think it's working that great. Hey butterfly, are you a medical person?? you know a lot! what is your "regimin"?Comment

hey! i have the allergy patches on my back now. i have to wear them until tomorrow, and then the derm. removes them and checks for any reactions. they don't test for a yeast allergy, but at least i can rule out any type of allergic reaction to industrial chemicals so i can avoid them in the future. i know a woman who is allergic to toilet paper and has pretty bad reactions to it. she has to use hypoallergenic toilet paper.
as far as feeling better: i am to a certain point. i still have weird sensations and some sensitivity. it almost feels like the skin is tight and pulling when i walk around. i still have random burning and prickly feelings, almost like someone is poking my labia with a tiny needle. i think the yeast may be gone, but still have discharge and these sensations. why would i still feel these things if it was just a yeast infection? that's the mystery!!! if the yeast is gone, why don't i feel normal!!! so frustrating. oh well, i hope things go well for you viola.Comment

Viola you missed a few points on that last post. Birth control just increases your chances of yeast infections. Your own hormones can also cause yeast infections. I get a yeast infection basically every period cycle I feel the itch coming on and inflammation all of it.. it's just part of my hormonal cycle. I have to use a monistat every single period cycle, until I came up with my own routine but still hormones cause the yeast. So you dont HAVE to be on birth control to get hormonal yeast infections, you can also get them from your own hormonal imbalance. My cycles come on time and are regular everything...but I still get yeast infections during my period even without being on birth control Why? Hormones. What can you do about it? You can take birth control to balance your hormones or put up a routine to deal with the yeast infections you get during your cycle. If you choose birth control to balance your hormones again birth control increases more yeast infections. Its like CVSTINKS said..hormones are a culprit to yeast infections. So this could be hormonal for you. My father is a doctor and you learn enough about medical stuff over the years.Comment

chalupamom it doesnt sound like a yeast infection, you could have a different condition I've never known a yeast infection to cause needle like sensations its a itching feeling mostly might want to start having your gyno look at other conditions outside the ideas of "infection" if it's not showing up as infection. Could be another gyno issue for you. You could of had a yeast infection sure but still have a condition underlying it. I would start considering a vulva specialist or some specialist that can check you out for gyno conditions and really look at your vulva closely.Comment

i agree missbutterfly. that has been the biggest problem for me the whole time. actually, i had a very similar condition about 12 years ago. it started the exact same way. i had a huge "flare" the most painful thing ever!!! i went to the doc, and she said it was a bacterial infection and gave me an antibiotic, which of course did nothing. but then i just let it go. i had just shaven down there for the first time and thought that was the reason. it took an entire year for it to fully go away. i never knew exactly what it was. the difference back then was that i had NO discharge, just very bad irritation, same prickly sensations, a little itchiness and redness. i think the same thing happened this time, but i may have gotten a yeast infection on top of it. but what the underlying condition is i have no idea, and neither do both the gynos i have been to. it isn't lichen sclerosis, or any other condition i have read about. it really is a mystery. i thought maybe my body has a weird reaction to yeast infections, but i will never be sure. not really sure how to even find out what is wrong with me!!! but for now i am just dealing and hoping that i do not get another infection.Comment
