I have definately had yeast and it's been diagnosed. i think it's finally over, but from what I have been told, we are left with a hypersensitivity to yeast proteins and by products from the yeast, like toxins....in which case, unless we can find someone that treasts yeast hypersensitivy, then we're screwed. A good allergist, might be able to help, I am ruling it all out. That will be what it is, if nothing else helps. It will be a challenge to get the right treatment for that.

I hope you get answers soon with the allergies, but I would think that allergies would affect your digestive or something else not the vagina. You may have some stomach imbalance (celiac disease, wheat allergy etc..) But I find it hardpressed that it would affect the vagina. Never know though I guess.

hey, to anyone who has been posting on this thread. do you take anything for anxiety or depression? this "ordeal" has done a number on my mental state, and i am thinking about maybe going on an anti-depressant until i start feeling better. unfortunately my crotch seems to be the only thing i think about these days and it is really getting to me. any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Aww I'm so sorry that its driving you to that direction it must be rough to think about it all the time. You may not want to take depression meds unless you feel you clinically need too, they can cause a host of other problems unless really needed. Try relaxation methods, other activities and hobbies, breathing exercises, yoga, and take some Shankhpushpi herb it relieves anxiety and mood changes. I know Nature's Formulary (dot) com makes some and have ordered there's from time to time for my own self. Go to your local library and get some books on relaxation techniques, maybe even using a stress ball to squeeze could help refocus your attention off your female parts. Even a monthly massage or accupuncture could help you, but I wouldn't go medical drug route unless really really really can find no other route, the problems you may end up can be more than your vagina if its really not clinical necessary.

You can also take Kava Kava and Valerian Herb. Failed to mention those lol.

thanks missbutterfly. i just have some really bad days sometimes, when i feel like this ordeal is never going to be over! i would do anything to just feel normal again. my therapist wants me to use breathing techniques, and i do, but sometimes i feel like i need more.
today i went to see the dermatologist who put patches on my back to see if i have an allergy to something. it would be nice to know what products to avoid in the future so that i don't make this problem any worse! i find out on wednesday if i have any allergies. i have to keep the patches on my back until then.

Hi Chalu! I am going this morning to a dermotologist!! I'm glad you had the patch tests!! Listen, if we can narrow it down then that's what we can do! Anything to help. Listen, I wouldn't go on antidepressents unless you really have to. I thought you said you were feeling better for now! That's great. I know your worried it could come back, and ME TOO!! We will be paranoid for life!! I know, not good, we worry. But your not itching today so that's great. Hey, today is my last day on the diflocan. I can't wait to stop. I still itch though. yeah, I'm freaked.
Miss Butterfly, it makes more and more sense to me that our bodies arn't allergic, but we may have a hypersensitivy to the yeast protiens that are left in our bodies when we have gone through massive yeast infections. Orian Truss book explains this sensitivity. I want to order the book. If it's truely the case, then I don't know how to find someone to treat this. I am working on ruling out all other allergys. Only way, process of elimination.

Just back from the dermatologist. She told me that food allergys don't usually manifest themselves in the genitilia...so ok, good to know, in the meantime I'm on this crazy no wheat, dairy or tomatoes diet. I got a cream to use, she saw inflamation, and want to see the exact slides from my biopsy so the pathologist can review it. She said only wash with Cetaphil, and use this cream called Locoid Lipocream, 2X's a day and I see her back in a week. So, ok, time to put some of this stuff on now...

Get a copy of, The Allergy Self Help Cookbook. It was a wonderful bunch of recipes and tons of information on dealing with food elimination diets. It was a huge help for me when I had no corn, wheat, eggs, dairy or chocolate. Guess which was the worst to do without?
