Yes, I bought some of that stuff. You can buy it!! Go to an offbeat pharmacy. It's located near the iodine. I tried it once. ....not sure. Didn't bother me at all, but I was freaked at the color it stained me. Only tried it once. Your right, it invades the underlying tissues. Lisen, I think you should try Phem dophilus. It's the female probiotic. I am taking 2 a day, plus even more lactobacillus supplememnts. When we have something, I think we will be forever paranoid that it will return. It really is traumatizing.

i totally agree with it being traumatizing. just because, especially for me, it is SO painful when it flares up! i really feel like i can't walk. and it takes weeks for me to start feeling better after i start treatment. hopefully we'll find the end of the tunnel soon.... otherwise i may just lose my mind!!

I need some serious help. It seems that i have had a recurring yeast infection for almost 3 years. I'm 19 now. It all began when i was 17, going through a very stress filled time in my life, and put on anti-biotics for strep throat and a uti at the same time. I then move to california and commence to bath in antibacterial soap, informed by my family that it would do me no harm. Now, of course, prior to all of this misery i didn't see the problem with bathing in antibac, but hey i was stupid.

so now, it seems like if i even lay one wrong finger down there, breath wrong, anything, i have the mild burning, slight itchy, dry sensation, never any odor. i tend to have a milky, irritating discharge almost constantly. Things just don't feel right down there. It's been so long i don't even know anymore, but i just never feel right.

Problem: What seems to be constant/recurring yeast or constant/recurring irritation
symtoms: tender skin, milky discharge, lips and vaginal opening very sensitive when wiping (and i only pat now), vagina often feels very dry, mild itchyness around vaginal opening.

Things tried: several rounds of diflucan- it works for that week, and then the next week syptoms return
-i was put on metrogel once by a stupid gyno: made symptoms worse
        - acidophilus supplements: i've bought everything ranging from walmart brand to $30 and up claiming to have 50billion live bacteria that has to be refrigerated- does nothing
-garlic: only thing that seems to stop the infection, takes 2 days, hate the smell, always comes bac tho
        -acv: works sometimes, never consistent
-tea tree oil: tampon works, takes 2 days for me, doesn't last though
-boric acid suppositories: i think i tried this for like 12 days, 2X a day, it didn't really work

I've been to many different gynos and they always just do a wet prep thing, hand me diflucan, and send me packing. I swear i've had probably over 50 pills in the past couple of years

I'm currently on birth control. I have tried stopping it to see if that changes anything. i went off of it for 3 months, and to no avail. it seemed like i got more yeast infections.

Someone, please...i'm at my wits end and i'm out of money with no more health insurance now. This whatever it is...it's ruining my sex life and my self-esteem. I hate my body now and i feel like it betrays me at every turn.

        Tell me what to do...please..

I just looked up vidanga, it's an Ayeradic herb for parasites/fungus.....interesting. Neem helps with itch, I have a salve ointment that I will try actually.
Well anyway, biopsy/ culture/scrapings all negative for yeast. I had to stop the medications for 12 days so that we could get the yeast to grow, but it still didn't grow. Still guessing and wondering how I will solve this problem.

viola, glad to hear that you have no yeast! at least you can start working on other forms of treatment. however, how much research have you done on vulvadynia? at the beginning of my problem, i was convinced this is what i had. the symptoms are itching/burning with seemingly no reason for it. what i have read a thousand times was that women will get an infection, treat the infection.... it goes away, but they are left with the symptoms, like itching, burning, stinging.... they say it is due to the fact that the nerve endings are rewired and are firing now for no reason. the treatment is something called elavil. it is an anti-depressant and is supposed to work on those nerve endings to stop them from firing. there are also other things to try as well. there was actually an episode and "sex and the city" about it. charlotte was diagnosed with it and was given the anti-depressant for her itching. sara001 may have more info. on it. i met her on another website. i think she actually posted earlier on this thread too. has dr. crandell mentioned this to you as a possibility? when i go back for a checkup on my yeast in a couple of weeks, and it comes back clear, if i am still experiencing the prickly feeling and burning, my doc. may start me on elavil. so that is where i am at right now. who knew a crotch could cause so much drama!!!!! anyway, keep us updated on how you are doing. it is nice to know that i am not the only one who is dealing with this !

It's totally overwhelming and I'm so depressed this morning. I'm itching like crazy, it's getting worse. A person on my Candida forum (curezone) a very smart person on there told me this morning that I have allergic vulvoydyia. (itch, not pain). Maybe she's right. I mean, what else is this? I've been tested for everything on earth. I had yeast , and probably still have some left becasue she see's it on the gram smear, but, this person says I have a reaction to yeast proteins, toxins and biproducts of yeast. it's a hypersensitviy now, it's canditoxins caused by this long term candida infection, and she suggests I see an envirnmental allergist to get neutrilization shots, Immune supression, hypoallergenic diet, immune boosting transfactors what ever that is....ugggggggg. I'm going to a special doctor tomarrow with these bio energy machines. They also have desensitzation drops....who knows, maybe it's a start. A different approach. Also, this machine can pick up if I have any allergys. I dont' know. I'm completely overwhelmed. No easy answers here for me. I can't believe it's come to this.

If the culture shows no yeast anymore your beating a dead horse treating it for yeast. Time to probably look in other routes- You might have a condition and not so much an infection- want to look into vulvadynia, and vulvar vestibulitis, and Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis. Never heard of allergic vulvoydyia just vulvoydyia. You would need to see a specialist in these areas to get your vaginal areas more fully tested for such conditions. Perhaps a Vulvar Specialist.

Oh also non albican yeast, cytolytic vaginosis, and noninfectious vaginitis you could get tested for all those, its not the same as Candida.

But if your smear still shows yeast it could be just that but if it doesnt might want to look another route That vidanga, neem, and wormwood would help knock it out if its truely yeast.

missbutterfly is a good friend so thats how I know about the herbs. She uses those herbs and some others and hasn't had her yeast in years! But again that's for if you true to the bone have yeast you beat a dead horse otherwise. I wish you good luck!
