Hello everyone I haven't been on here in a while but I have been trying some new things and I have to say that I've had some success... I started taking Rephresh Pro B pills that I bought from Walgreens and they really do work. The smell is gone and there is little discharge. I started taking them about 3 months ago and you will start to notice it working after 7 days, I think it says that on the box to. One down fall about it is that if you stop taking them the BV will come right back. So you may want to buy them every month, I think its enough capsules to last for 30 days. Right now I am trying the Plum Smart juice that helps your digestive system. It really works for my BV. Since I started drinking the Plum Smart I have not had any problems with BV, no odor and little to no discharge, maybe its because it cleans your system out and puts all good bacteria and probiotics in your system, oh yeah and it tastes really good to, lol... But just like everything else, when I stopped drinking it the BV came back. I usually drink like 2 or 3 cups a day and when I'm not drinking it I drink water. I think it says that you should drink it for atleast 2 weeks to get good results, but I would continue drinking it past 2 weeks, well I already have and I love it. So you are welcome to try either of these things that have worked for me. Til next time... -
BV
I didn't have BV until I got pregnant with my 2nd child 2 years ago. I got it at the beginning of my pregnancy and was treated with cream. Throughout my whole pregnancy I didn't feel "right" and just assumed it was b/c I was pregnant. The last trimester was terrible as I felt my cervix was being torn open and I kept "leaking" and thought my water had broke. I'd go to the Doctor and he would say everything was fine. Well, for months after my daughter was born I had a terrible pain in my lower abdomen and cervical region. Finally after 6 months (my periods were still not back to normal) they checked me for BV. The flagyl cleared it up. I would like to say, though, that I never had a fishy odor. I had a musty odor but it was never as pronounced as most of you describe. I do have a weird discharge that never really goes away. Anyway, after taking the flagyl the abdominal pain went away but not the cervical pain and I still have the discharge. I went back to the doc 3 months later and she gave me flagyl but when the tests result came back it said negative for BV. Now, 6 months later (going on 2 years now) I still have a weird discharge (milky greyish-white, sometimes very thin and then sometimes very thick) and every now and then I still get that musty odor..especially after I work-out or any strenuous activity. Sex does not hurt . I had surgery and they found endometriosis and did a D&C. The cervical pain is still there, discharge still there, and musty odor still there. Do any of you experience these symptoms, too? I am mostly concerned about the cervical pain as it become very painful during ovulation. I don't know if I have reoccuring BV or if my body is just screwed up. Before I got pregnant I had the best Vagina and uterus ever...28 day cycles exactly, I knew when I was ovulating, never had weird discharge, never had any cramping or pains unless on my period. My doctor won't listen and I pay out of pocket so this is getting too expensive. Pls. help.
Thanks ladies!Comment

It wasn't until I was peri-menopausal that I started noticing changes in my vaginal discharge (watery and greenish/grayigh) and began experiencing a strange, strong odor. My gyn made me feel like I was overreacting and almost as though I was making excuses to have doctor visits so I took things into my own hands. I faithfully started taking Ultimate Flora Vaginal Support and found that my condition began to improve. However, when I have sex with my husband, it puts me into tilt and sometimes I will insert an acidophilus capsule every night for a week or two to return my flora to normal. I wonder if I will now be this sensitive forever. Going from never having infections to being so sensitive that any little thing will throw me into BV is frustrating but I'm trying to maintain the best I can. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem

Hey ladies. I'm new to this website and this is my first post. I have been plagued with B.V. for about six years. I have always treated it with traditional RX. Can't stand them! Last week, after my period,I developed the odor and discharge that we all know and hate. Fortunately, I already had an appointment with my pcp. So she handed me a script and I began complaining. "Why? Why? What else is there? Homeopathic? On and on. Of course, I heard the same things that I have read hundreds of times in my research of bacterial vaginosis. So I asked"how can I control my vaginal ph levels?" Blah, blah nothing concrete. Here is the good part. The hopeful, helpful part. I went to pick up my rx at Walgreens, but they told me they were out of stock and it wouldn't be available until tomorrow. Uuugh!! Right before thanksgiving! I was going to my inlaws an felt nervous because of the odor. I was desperate to start the treatment. I decided to make one last effort to find SOMETHING to help me out. I went to the feminine hygiene isle. I see the $30 box of slow working probiotics. That's a no. Then, like a beacon in the fog I see a yellow box on the shelf that reads Phresh Brilliant. It was a box of tampons! It claimed to restore vaginal ph to normal levels. YES!!!! I grabbed a box(on sale) of regular and ran home to try it. I inserted on, I'm not having my period, but didn't think that would matter. Three hours later I removed it. No odor. Three hours later ,no odor! YES!!!! Finally something works with no fuss,no mess and no expense! That was 11/23/wpqp. I inserted another on thanksgiving day(just in case). Ladies, five days later I'm fine! I've even had intercourse with my husband, still no odor! I now that my bv is triggered by my period so from now on I will use these fantabulous tampons during the last days of my period and hopefully avoid bv all together. I hope that you try this with success. Please let me know directly. I would love to hear your story.Comment
