ps jazzyt, i would do it for a week and see if it works for you, and if it doesn't, then stop. if it does work, either keep doing it every day or so, or stop til it comes back - do what works for you personally. but - if it does not work, i am sorry.

me - i do it every couple of days. bacause it works for me. and i do not want a recurrence.

      Whey

      Detective Sarah AND everyone else,

I did the Whey thing and I swear it worked. I only did it one night but the next day the fishy smell was gone. I'm also taking Clindomyecin so I'm not sure if it was just that kicking in or what. However, this is the second time I've taken Clindomyecin (the other umpteen times was Flagyl). All I know is it felt pretty weird putting Whey inside of me, LOL, but the next day the fishy smell did substantially decrease.

I also went to the nutrition store and bought the probiotic, Fem-Dophilus, just as an extra precaution. Oh, and I've always washed down there twice in the shower and recently I just wash once so that may be keeping it at bay as well. I'm telling you, I'll do whatever it takes to stop these recurrences.

I also used to think it was my boyfriend but just like Sarah said we had been together at least 9 or 10 months before I started getting these recurrences. Also, we took a break for about a month one time and had no sex and I still got them. I also went out and bought new underwear just in case the bacteria was just sitting there in my old underwear even though I wash them of course. Well, I'll keep everyone posted if all these changes worked or not. Thank you all for your advice.

        whey project

        Hey Jazzyt. You're welcome.

Yes it's weird to use the whey. Whatever you're doing I'm glad it's worked and I hope it keeps working. phew.
It is weird isn't it. Whatever it takes. I'm ordering the lactose sugar by mail order and I'll see if that works too. (but it's so difficult to buy it in the shops - nobody stocks it.)

So glad something is going right. (X fingers it stays right)

I also am trying another method of using it - i get half a teaspoon of whey powder in my palm and just add a drop or 2 of water and roll the powder into a little ball, and then - - - up it goes.

Like i said, its messy, and if anyone has anything to add to this concept, the whey project hahaa, don't hold back.

I see a lot of different things to try. I don't know where to start. Should I try the peroxide with water method first? Should I buy some supplements? I see so many ideas I don't know where to start. Can someone give me direction?

I have had BV since after the birth of my second child. He is about to be 4 in a few months. I get the discharge and the odor. It is embarassing. What usually works for me is wearing a tampon to mask the odor and put up with the discharge. Can you imagine wearing a tampon or pad for almost four years??? It's horrible. I have gone to 5 gynos and gotten Clindeese prescribed each time. No one wants me to try anything else so I have to keep going to a new gyno and they just end up giving me the same thing. It's frustrating. I don't want to have the discharge or that smell anymore. When I found this site I was hoping to get an idea and now I have so many that I don't know where to begin.

            HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a nurse or a doctor. I have read, however, for bacterial infections it is really bad to wear tampons because they hold the bacterial inside your vagina instead of letting your vagina flush itself or something to that effect. The constant tampon use may be counterproductive.

Yeah, I'll try to wear pads then. Thanks for the advice.

Doctors usually prescribe it to you.
