The pH thing is odd, isn't it? I mean, it seems to be the most important factor with my BV, as it happens from about day 3 of my period without fail and then I can resolve it with the RepHresh, but if it was just the pH that was an issue, surely this would happen to all women every month.

      Does the Rephresh work?

It does for me, yes. Obviously isn't a permanent cure though.

Angel, I am new at this and trying to heal myself of bv, I have only had it for three months. May have caused it on myself due to not taking all the prescribed flagl. 4 large pills at once, I only took three and it came back within a week, I then took three more, which only worked while taking the meds. Went on the metro. injectable gel, came back after my period. Back on Flagl 2 pills daily for 7 days, still smell a bit. For the past two days I am not wearing any underwear. I have a skirt on today and I open my legs whenever possible. It seems to me its helping, I would assume the more air down there the better. I would assume the bacteria can't grow with air? Has anyone tried this. I also have been sitting occastionally in front of a fan with my legs apart. Has anyone tried this?

Is there anyone like me who has their BV start every month like clockwork during their period? For me it is always on day 3 (today - I feel stinky and filthy ). I suddenly thought I might try the Femmesil again just during my period, as it is both too expensive to use all month, and too messy.

so guys i got a Yeastie this morning and i went to the doctor even though i knew what was needed but i think you will need a prescription so i went anyway...but this time i decided to visit another clinic but anyway getting down to it she prescribed me the Diflucan so i went on to tell her about the BV because she kept asking other questions so i proceeded on giving a non-chalant answer letting her know to don't worry about it seeing that it's something the doctor's can't cure so she laughed a little and asked what i have been prescribed before and i told her about metro and all the other things that you guys have tried and all told her about the thousands of other women on this site that has this issue..so she then tells me she is going to prescribe me something new and then tells me i need to have faith...so i laughed not because i think she's stupid or anything but because like she said i have lost faith and i have only had this for about a year so i can just imagine how many of you who has had it for way more years...going forward just letting you guys know that she has prescribed me something new or at least i don't remember anyone mentioning it but it's called Noroxin 400MG, i was told to take 1 tablet twice a day for 7 days...anyway i'll let you guys know how it goes..i'm not enthusiatic about it at all at this point so we'll see how it goes....pray for me guys

oh and also she mentioned that my bf who actually is uncircumcised could have been the issue, she mentioned that the foreskin traps bacteria and i was like ohh this make sense...but i'm going to discuss with my bf we were already in discussion of him getting circumcised before but at this point it is a MUST!

I'm 39 and have BV for the first time I was only sexually active with one partner (husband) for many years, and I have never encountered ANYTHING like this. I became sexually active with a guy 2 years after, and the first night with him I KNEW something was wrong. There was a horrible smell that I thought was his sperm? I went to the Gyno and was tested for any stds, plus I was sent for blood work. My results were negative for any stds, but doctor suspected BV at the time and sent me home with a antibiotic. It came back just after my period I've read about all the home remedies, and in the process of trying them.

I know some are looking for aci-jel. I know there is a product called rePHresh that I believe is the same thing, just different name. You can can it at any local grocery store, drug store or Walmart in the feminine products area.

I strongly believe my chemistry did NOT mix with my previous sexual partner, and that is what has caused my problem in particular. In other words, his pheromones didn't agree with my body.

after a round of flagl twice a day for 7 days which ended about a week ago, I continued to have bv mildly. This past week I have continued to wear a skirt whenever I can, I went without underwear under shorts and pants when possible over the past week and it worked the bv is finally gone. It's been three months since it has been completely gone! The only other thing i have done is eat yogurt everyday and 2 fem D a day. With increased air exchange down there there is significantly less mosture and that has cured me at the moment. I am going to start my period soon, which has caused the bv to return full blown for the past 3 months. I will keep you ladies posted if it does not return.
