I think if this was non-fictitious then what did the Embassy say? Would there not be compensation or something, a story worth telling, because of a simple car accident, warning other travellers, I think i would go nuts, well almost, cause i am strong and I would be telling/ or should I say warning THE WORLD, over that particular Country and what happened.

I am curious again, therefore, in this regard and we look forward to you coming back and answering the many questions pertaining to this thread and also what you feel over the suggestions given.

was he put in a cell w/another woman durring the 3 mo? if he was and did what you did...would you want to know? make your decision off of that. put yourself in his shoes. it may hurt him but since you all went through a tough time maybe he would be more understanding.
Good luck...let us know what you decide.

This story sounds so extreme. But if it is true, could it be she was put in a cell with someone other than her husband because her captors guessed what would happen - and got it on tape - and showed him?

Wondered initially if this was for real but decided to treat it as if it were. The original poster seems to have vanished. It does seem a bit far fetched but stranger things have happened. Got a few stories of my own that could seem a bit unlikely....

i think it sounds like a good plot for a mills and boone romance novel. maybe the poster is a fiction writer with a writers block.

One thing for sure, when you are locked up in a third world country, you are on your own... know this for a fact, espescially if you are a U.S. citizen. We are more worried about our political relations than our citizens... my second point. What happens in prison, stays in prison....lol. There are many men that go to prison for long periods of time, who are straight, and have famalies, but end up having sex with men for release while they are in there. Then when they get out, it's business as usuall, never to happen again or get mentioned again. IF this story is true, and it did happen, let sleeping dogs lie. Being locked up is a very stressfull situation even in your own country, much less in a strange place where you cant understand thier language, customs and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. If you don't believe it, lock yourself in a room in your own home for three months and see if you don't go crazy!....lol

Justaman, reading your post changed my initial opinion on this. At first I was feeling like "gimme a break you can't go 3 months without sex?" people go for years for various reasons. Then I thought about it again, being in a prison in another country, scared - not knowing what is going to happen to you- it was probably not as much to do with release as it was to do with comfort.

A lot of people say what they would or wouldn't do if in certain situations. If here to tell you that if you have never been there you don't know what you would do. Take this from a man who tries to be diplomatic and rational, but when someone abused my daughter, I unleashed on that individual. I do find it curious that the original poster vanished, but it did start some good conversation any how....lol. But YES... she cheated to answer her question.

i am not saying its all fiction but whenever an australian is arrested overseas it is on the news etc, david hicks, scharpelle corby etc. it would also be a feature in thats life, take 5, woman's day etc they love that stuff.
