I have a friend who is 51, and I thought maybe you were she, except I know you don't live in Texas! She's told me the same thing: she's "horny all the time!"
I'm a little older than she, but since I found I had low testosterone levels, and was treated for that, my sex drive is now what it was a very long time ago - if not more so, and now she and I find ourselves nicely matched, thank you very much!
So, in answer to the OP of several years ago: women may well have an increase in libido into the late 30s, as once was thought, but I'd be willing to bet it's more like a "butte" than a peak!Comment

Sexual Peak?!?!?!?
Well the time when I first thought I was going thru my peak, I was like 27. It was horrible, I was masturbating at work! Then it slowed down for a few years and started again when I was in my early 30's. I was dating a man in his 40's and for the first time in my life, I got turned down for sex.
Then it slowed again and since we have been apart I have been single. Well here I am 39 and it has been about 8 months since I have had sexual intercourse with anyone; however, for example, the last 3 days I have masturbated to orgasm (multiple too for the first time) like 7 times! I could go again just thinking about it. Ughhhhhh, who knows what prompts it. Hope this helps.

Well keep in mind that a typical guy is looking for sex as release, not "love making", that is the root of the "biggest complaint". Add to that the thought that typically women are harder to satisfy then men sexually, and it can start to look like work. It all depends on the people invovled, what they want, and what it takes to get them there.Comment

This underlines the biggest problem... They are in it for themselves, not an equal, mutual partnership.Well keep in mind that a typical guy is looking for sex as release, not "love making",
I was at my sexual peak in my 20's I am now in the same sphere, I don't think I have ever lost it, rather, selfish men whom just want "sex", which puts it back to what you said.
To which I say pftttt.
Sorry.PUT A LITTLE 'LIKE' IN MY SOUL!Comment

Actually this can create problems for both genders as research has found that many men (and women regarding men) confuse ejaculation with full orgasm. It is possible for a man to ejaculate with out orgasming and to orgasm without ejaculating. The full body orgasm which men are capable of may be an experience most miss because they are so focused on getting to ejaculation.
A woman who is in tune with herself sexually and emotionally can cum very quickly. I've done so with very little foreplay just as a man is entering me. This seems to leave some men a bit baffled but then I can keep going and going and cumming.
You need to mix it up, nice long love making sometimes, short and sweet quickies other times, sometimes gentle and tender, others just fun and playful.Comment

Maybe, maybe not. As a generalization maybe. It's the exceptions like myself who really long for an equal, mutual partnership on all levels. This underlines the biggest problem... They are in it for themselves, not an equal, mutual partnership.

Another generalization, as women age and family, career, etc. become more important, sexuality and intimacy become less important. As such, many believe that they've hit their sexual peak alot earlier than they may actually have. It almost becomes a self-inflicted wound.Comment

Well it is an issue that exists on both sides of the fence, I know quite a few women in my age group that are only looking for someone to take them "there" and nothing more. I do agree though, the behavior is sad and it makes all men look bad, but it isn't as dominant a trait as some may think, there are a lot of guys out there that actually want more, the issue is that they don't exist in the form that some women desire. This underlines the biggest problem... They are in it for themselves, not an equal, mutual partnership.

As people age sometime they change in what works and doesn't work. Doesn't necessarily mean their drive has diminished or strengthened, it could just mean that they are harder/easier to turn on over time.Comment

My friend is just the same, though; it's not unusual for her to "O" just from kissing, and she goes on from there...Comment
