For many men, and more women than people will admit, porn is simply the medium to arousal. There doesn't have to be any attraction or feeling of lust for the pornstar, but the act of watching others be sexual is fairly arousing for most people.
Personally, when I would watch porn, I would think of my SO and I in the position of the pornstars, and that used to turn me on very much. Admittedly I haven't watched in some time, but it's different for everyone i'd imagine.
Agree! Women can be stimulated by visual erotica too.
Although porn now these days seems to have gone more "gross"..Is it just me, or does it take time to find good, tasteful erotica?"Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

The era of:
- Too many action films with poor dialogues.
- Too many fast-paced books with no descriptions.
- Too much fast food because we have no time to cook.
- Too much sloppy sex without substance.
Live fast, eat fast, study fast, make money fast, orgasm even faster, just do everything as quickly as possible. Why? I have no idea...Comment

That's our problem, when we sit down and enjoy things we can't help but feel 'we're wasting time'. It wasn't like this in our parents' time, now with the eruption of technology it's as if we try to compete against machines which do everything instantly.
Nobody wants a date at the park anymore, they rather combine it with an activity.Comment

I feel the need to voice my opinion as a guy who strongly disagrees with the use of pornography for masturbation(when in a relationship). Have i ever looked at porn? yes, WHEN i was single and did not have someone who was the center of my sexual desire. However, i strongly believe that when you are involved in a loving relationship, married or not, that pornography shouldn't be needed. I am a guy and i have as high a sex drive as anyone but that doesn't mean i have the desire to get off looking at some other girl when i have a woman i love very much who turns me on way more. If we as men just use porn for the "visual stimulation" and thats all, then why not have those visual elements of the person you love? I have pictures of my girlfriend for the occassion that i need a release and can;t bring her into bed with me;-) If the roles were reversed, i honestly would be extremely hurt if i knew my girlfriend or wife was masturbating while looking at some other guys. I will probably get flamed for this post but that is my personal belief and opinion. porn is a thorn in a loving relationship."I met in the street a very poor young man who was in love. His hat was old, his coat worn, his cloak was out at the elbows, the water passed through his shoes, - and the stars through his soul."- Victor HugoComment

why not ask your SO to provide the visual elements you require for self-satisfaction. pictures, sexy videos..of the woman YOU LOVE. If i do the solo deed, there is nothing hotter than seeing pictures of my woman and going through the fantasy of "if she were here right now we would be......" Let me ask a question. Is looking at women in porn when you are in a relationship really that different than using a prostitute? You could rationalize that you don't actually like this prostitute..you just need her for the visual and manual stimulation since your woman isnt there to provide such. I realize that i have strong opinions on this matter and i hope i am not offending anyone but i really do feel as if it's not really that different."I met in the street a very poor young man who was in love. His hat was old, his coat worn, his cloak was out at the elbows, the water passed through his shoes, - and the stars through his soul."- Victor HugoComment

ocularone - you obviously have a partner that is there for you and is willing to do what it takes to please you, and you do the same for her. That's great. A lot of people don't have that type of open and honest relationship, which is a shame. A lot of relationships have walls built up over time, limits are set, lines drawn in the sand. And we just go about our lives lying to ourselves that it's normal, that we need to accept it, that we need to take care of ourselves because we don't have a true sexual partner. Some have higher sex drives than their partner and need a release. If they bothered the lower drive partner with the need for more sex it would cause more problems.
But any person that has a willing partner, willing to do whatever they want and need (within reason) to make them sexually happy, that uses porn instead, has an addiction or problems with intimacy. That's what is not acceptable.Comment

ocularone-wow ur a unique man,I wish my husband was like you
he loves porn and masturbates to it about 2 times per week although we have a hot and steamy, normal sex life
he does not have any pics or videos of me because I am highly consious about my weight, hence his increased porn use
he says its not my fault he loves porn and I shouldnt worry that most guys do it and blah blah blah and that its not like hes going out to bars meeting other women therefore I shouldnt be hurt when he looks at it
working hard to loose the weight
I am going to take ur advice and when I drop this weight I am going to take sexy pics for him and make naughty video for him, which I HOPE he masturbates to that instead of Eva Angelina but only time will tell, we will see what happens
I think he loves porn like he loves sleep, sex with me and food, porn is right up there for him unfortunatleyComment
