Thanks for all the great comments! For myself I can't say I prefer any sexual act over another, in my mind each of them is one slice of a whole pie. Oral, penetration, manual stimulation, etc, etc, all has a part equally in sex. So, it kinds surprised me hearing he would prefer something over another. He did say he loved penetration too, just liked oral a little more. Also mentioned that his ex was not in the mood for sex a lot so she would give him oral a lot (which I thought was strange), mabye why he does, he may have gotten used to it.

Right now I think it is safe to say that it is just because individuals enjoy it more.

I find it a bit puzzling that there are males (and females) who prefer oral over intercourse. I already knew such guys exist because I'd heard some guys say it in the past. Everything revolves around survival of the species. So sure, oral is pleasurabe and is therefore a step in the right direction. But it is not meant to replace intercourse since intercourse is the main mechanism used for creating more of us. Even when we don't want or can't have kids the DNA 'programming' is still in place. Something may be interfering with the programming, causing a mental override. I wonder if penis size plays a role in some guys' preference. I noticed some posters saying the guys say they doesn't get anything out of the intercourse. Got to me to wondering if size (vaginal contact amount) is involved.

I think you may have something regarding "programming". At least in my case. Even though oral feels amazing I still have this irrepressible urge to move on to traditional intercourse. And I definitely have no desire for more kids!!

Regarding penis/vagina size, I don't mind a little "loose". I think that it may provide a little less intense stimulation, but that just makes things last a little longer, which is fine with me.

I'm a woman, but I do prefer oral over penetration. As for men? I've met some that prefer penetration...others prefer oral.

My bf just told me he prefers oral sex to penetration sex. I did a search for it and found nothing on the forum. Do you men think the same and have you ladies ever heard a man tell you this before? Cause no one has ever told me this before.

I prefer penetration to oral but maybe I have never had good oral.
I have never reached orgasm from oral.
But I think that prefering oral is also common.

By the way, and ironically, in another post (which i am hoping formore responses to) I pointed out that it bothers me that my wife doesn't like oral and can't reach orgasm that way.

I guess people are different.

I've read somewhere that it's normal to not feel much sensation during vaginal intercourse for both men and women. I think it's theclitoris.com.


For me, my partners didn't do proper foreplay before intercourse. Hence, it was painful for me and I think my mind associated it with pain or something to avoid. I now know what kind of exact foreplay I need to get me to "open up" and lubricate for vaginal penetration, but I still don't feel the same sensation I do from oral sex or direct clitoral stimulation.

The clitoris.com website also said some vaginas just aren't as sensitive. I don't know.

I (male) like both but truth be told I have a more powerful, and therefore more enjoyable, orgasm from oral. It takes me longer to reach orgasm from oral, but it is a nice steady climb and by the time I finally go over that edge.... oh boy!

That and I just really enjoy the view of my wife going down on me!!

I think we prefer that which we can not have or have difficulty getting.

Its been many years since I have received oral (even when i did it was only to a certain point) and it was a great treat every once in a while. I always wondered what it completely felt like. It makes you feel very special and cared for when someone wants to do that for you and does it. I read about wives and girlfriend that like doing it and I am quite envious. You feel like you are wanted less or less loved when you don't get it. I always wanted to do it back but have been outright refused and it is pretty much forbidden (even to talk about).

Penetration has always been the main course. There is something primal about it. I am still amazed at how the parts 'fit' together. Finishing together and inside has to be the best.
