Look, one of you wanted to know why a guy would masturbate instead of having sex. If you want to lay all the blame on a guy for doing it, that's fine. If a woman wanted to masturbate instead of having sex, I bet you would still blame the guy. It always comes down to something we aren't doing right. It's never the woman's fault. At the very best it's both person's faults together, or the guy did something wrong. It's never solely the woman who is to blame. And that's fine on a woman's forum. I can't expect women to except any blame for themselves.

If you want to look up studies by women on why men masturbate, or talk to men who are sympathetic to women on why men masturbate, you're going to get skewed data. What you're really asking for isn't an answer as to why, but a pat on the back that it isn't your fault and that something is wrong with the guy.

Masturbation itself is healthy. Always. You can't catch anything from it, and as well as feeling good, it relieves tension. For a guy to masturbate, it usually means he's horny. If I'm in the mood and ask my SO for sex and she isn't in the mood, guess what: I'm going to masturbate. If she doesn't like it, too bad. Just like if she's in the mood and I turn her down she's totally welcome to handle her business.

If men did everything the way women wanted them to do them, we'd be women, not men. I hate all the cuddly stuff, and all the drama a lot of women seem to be into. I hate Sex in the City, and Little Women, and American Idol. I hope Perez Hilton's website gets shut down. But that's all because I'm a guy. Most guys aren't into that stuff. I don't expect women to be into porn, horror movies, or playing first person shooter video games online. I don't expect them to want to go play Texas Hold'Em at the casino with me or go race cars. There are differences between the sexes. And any guy who is "in sync" totally with his wife/girlfriend and likes things like Sex in the City, just isn't right.

I also don't think it's wrong for a man to want to do things that his SO doesn't want to do. Why can't he fantasize about them? My ex wanted me to tie her up in the woods and have sex with her. Never happened. I had one girlfriend who wanted to do the rape fantasy. Never happened. Should I have put either of them down if they masturbated to the idea? No, why would I?

As for being young, yeah I guess I am young. I'm 37.....

And as for us doing all the work, how often do any of you stay on top the entire time you have sex? I'd love to just lie back and enjoy the ride. But it usually starts out with a few hundred push-ups doing it missionary style, then it winds up being a few hundred thrusts doing it doggie-style, then it usually switches to standing up with the girl bent over doing more thrusts, then if I'm lucky I get to lie back and enjoy the woman on top. At that point my knees, thighs, and legs are all tired from all the activity. So yeah, I do think we do most if not all of the work. God forbid a guy lose his erection during the act, then it's an argument about A) the guy not being able to stay hard, B) the girl not being enough C) How she can play with a toy with no problems. Again, if she get's dry during then it becomes about the man not exciting her enough instead of it being her fault for not staying wet. The same arguments never seem to apply to women.

If you want fair answers you have to look at the situation from both sides. You can't just point fingers and ask why men do certain things then not listen to the answers.

I do not prefer masterbastion over intercourse. But my wife does make that decision more me...not my choice

As far as teikyo is concern, by reading some of his responses and replies, I would assume he is in his mid 20s to early 30s. And has lots of blinders on.

Some of the things in the article are correct...fantasy has a lot to do with masterbastion (I think) But I guess I prefer the real thing...when I can get it(other issues).

If either partner is withholding sex then you need to have a real serious discussion about your relationship and maybe come to an understanding you can get it elsewhere. I would never stay with someone who wanted sex once or twice a month or maybe even just a few times a year. No one should do that to the other person. If they didn't like sex they shouldn't have lied about it to get in the relationship.

It's like that joke about the bride smiling at the altar because it's the last blowjob she'll ever have to give. Why would she want to get married in the first place is my question.

I think you need to take your own advice here. You sure are full of "women this, women that". It seems for whatever reason you are bitter.

As far as men doing everything? No, maybe you have experienced it with the partners you've been with.

My favorite position is being on top and ME doing the work but you know what? My husband doesn't let me do that all the time.

We share the work. He puts out just as much effort as I do.
There is a method to my madness ........ I just haven't found it yet.

              Next question teikyo.

              Are you married?
              have you ever been married?
and how many years has your longest relationship gone?

              (jeopardy theme song playing)

              LOL...just messing with you.

I can't believe I got an infraction for belittling the opposite gender. Nice. On a thread about why men prefer to masturbate instead of sex which belittles men. Okay, well all I can say is I guess there's no easy answer for why men do it. I guess the best way to answer the question would be why do some women prefer to masturbate instead of having sex? Men most likely do it for the exact same reasons.

I think you need to re-read the title and the original post of this thread. Title reads "men who prefer ....". It does not say ALL MEN.

And yes, belittling a member here or anyone for that matter is not tolerated on this forum and can lead to banning.

I think insinuating any men would prefer one to the other could be seen by men as belittling them.

I also think the obvious answer would be for the same reason women do it. Which has nothing to do with belittling anyone. Other answers that aren't p.c. might be valid but I guess people need to look them up.

Your second post was a little more fair sighted teikyo so i'll respond to that you see, in your experience it may be that you do all the work sexually... but it isn't the case for many women.

I bring my boyfriend to orgasm OFTEN without him having to so much as lift a finger... and he does the same for me. We have sex in positions where my fitness and flexibility are called upon a lot more than his -- and we also have sex in positions where its a good thing he ate his wheaties that day.

Its a give and take for us. Not only do accomodate his physical fantasies I do my darndest to accomadate his visual ones as well. I put on shows for him, I dress sexy and keep it changing from little skirts and cotton panties and knee socks to little black dresses with garter belts and thigh highs, costumes you name it... I'm in it.

I'm not a flat on your back you do the work kind of girl like the ones you seem to be describing... and neither are many of the women here participating in a sex forum.

You see a female that is actually on here curious to learn more ways to please her partner is not likely the type of female that you are discussing that you have had to do all the work with.

So your blanket statement is going to ruffle feathers and it sounds like thats what you were trying to do.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
