    Texinator- a great thread.
I have noticed over the years that the ladies who communicated their requirements best had the easiest time having orgasms.
Giving feedback is of immeasurable assistance-like it for virtually everything.
I guess though that the ones who communicated well had already worked out what worked for them.
And its not easy for men most of the time- facing silence and having to rely on vaginal contractions and clit sensitivity for feedback of success just makes it all the more difficult.
So more feedback and even some assertive behaviour is called for IMHO.

So unfortunate that more men aren't sexually psychic.

Indeed a sexual sixth sense would solve a lot of problems.

Even if a man is interested in providing Orgasms he still has his work cut out for him. As you have already mentioned responsiveness can come down to the relationship itself. Tie that in with fluctuating hormone levels and shyness or embarrassment and things are always going to be tough.
A long term relationship can help of course as things are learned and relearned.

Unfortunately what often happens is that things that slip by in the infatuation phase seem awkward to address later and snow ball into problems. This or that was a turn on when Everything was a turn on but now it isn't but its become habit or something doesn't seem changeable. Men can unwittingly shut a woman down with this kind of stuff. As she searches for a way to express what she needs or something she doesn't want, without stepping on his delicate sexual ego, he gets huffy or defensive and then she is the one shutting down.

Then neither gets much satisfaction out of it.

Its hard to imagine a fix unless the school systems become a bit more progressive in Sex Ed. Maybe if they added some Tantric or Taost teachings.
Cant see that happening this century though.
I guess that the oppressive sexual control that has shaped people will gradually erode but that will take significant time.

I guess forums like this are as good a place to start as any.

You'll get no argument from me there!

...for men, how important is it for you that your partner has an orgasm? Do you go out of your way to ensure she has an orgasm, or are you more concerned about your own and leave it up to chance whether or not she has one as well?
I definitely go out of my way: I make it my number one priority! If my partner hasn't had an orgasm, I don't consider that we've "had sex" - it's that simple.
Not because I'm a great, unselfish, altruistic sort of guy; quite the contrary! LOL!
If she's happy, she's much more likely to want me again!

Can you bottle that? If we could sell it, we'd be rich.

...and that's the "secret" that the "What does making her orgasm do for me?" guys stupidly don't understand.

So I hear female orgasms are like the best thing ever. What does one feel like?

That is a loaded question, Tex (pardon the pun). There are different types of orgasms, and each one can feel different from the last. Even the definition of "orgasm" is kind of a grey area. Not only that, but I'm having a hard time even finding the right words to describe what an orgasm feels like. I'll have to think about that one...
