A number value is straight forward and unambiguous so it can be much easier to say an exact number. However, then comes the part of people not actually knowing what 9.5 inches is (I had a girl at school the other day tell me a standard mechanical pencil was 12 inches long) so in her way of seeing things 9.5 inches could really be an average 5 inches. If a man goes for his own measuring then it is still a repetition of what a woman's SO says to her, if she wishes to place great value onto that size because of the number then so be it. But as for the number itself it is still merely a number to her if she has already said she does not care. However, don’t you think most people would react different to “My boyfriend is 9.5 inches” versus “my boyfriend is larger between the legs?” -
Guest repliedItsasecret:How is it a mixed message and not them repeating a measly number? Saying a number does not mean she is placing value on it, she is saying the measurement that is it. The men are the ones placing the 'look at that' value to the number, the women are saying "k, does not matter to me but okay great dear that you measured it at 6.5 inches". I think if a woman says a number because her SO has said the value and she says she does not care then it is just that, a repetition of the number. If a woman says "wow jeez 9.5 inches wow that is so big"...then it is just that, she is placing a "wow look at that" value to it.
You are probable right; there can be a communication of a measurement with it being value free. However, don’t you think most people would react different to “My boyfriend is 9.5 inches” versus “my boyfriend is larger between the legs?” Perhaps we just have different views, but I think most people would have greater curiosity to see a 9.5 inch penis, than just hearing someone is larger. Even I who believes that larger is irrelevant and is completely heterosexual would be curious to see if someone can actually be that large and to see what it would look like! In my younger days, I might even want to call them out to see if they were making thngs up!
Do I make sense?Leave a comment:

There are women that are saying that they could care less, yet they are giving exact measurements.Leave a comment:

lol, Your point comment is awful!
Your right, my spelling is bad. My plan is to not spend as much time on post at this website because I am swamped in other areas of my life, like work and family. But I keep getting sucked into conversations.
I agree completely that more of this lies with men – probable most of it. Back when I was an immature punk – like 20 years ago – I also asked my wife to take out a ruler and string so I could prove to her I was larger.
She thought I was stupid and now I realize how stupid I really was but we did measure it (much more me than her) and it had goofy elements to it, like lizzard outlined with her exes.
With that said, however, do you disagree with me that there are women on this website that are sending mixed messages? There are women that are saying that they could care less, yet they are giving exact measurements. However, I do think there are women who will join there husband/boyfriend in saluting their size, if they are larger and I think Lizzard has done this (and this is not to be attacking – I appreciate your honesty, lizzard – but bragging if you had a big one does not help men who struggle with be small).
I think your comment back in post 2 is spot on – both men and women can talk about size in broader terms, when size can cause concerns (smaller men feeling inadequate and larger men trying to hide public erections). However, I am certain my wife really could not remember my size and I can’t really remember it also and I have desire to go back and measure.Leave a comment:

I've never pulled out a ruler or measuring tape to measure a man. Any reportable numeric information I have on a penis comes from the penisholder himself! (Mostly because I have tried to guesstimate the size of a penis, and consistently overguess. Not reporting my own poorly-obtained numbers is my duty and privilege.)
EDIT: And to clarify, I have seen and been involved with double-digits of penises. If I'm recalling correctly, every man had a set of numbers to describe the size.Last edited by Little; 11-17-2011, 04:07 PM.Leave a comment:

I didn't read previous posts before posting this, so... sorry if this has already been said lol.I have this question for women. I hope it is appropriate.
Through this website there are many women who state that penis size is irrelevant. From what I know outside of website, I think most (but not all) women believe that size is irrelevant. As a male, I also think this – but it did take me sometime to truly believe this (20 years ago I thought being larger between the legs was better).
If most women think this, why do they actually know, and share information about their men’s penis size – right to the half inch? There are women where that have stated size does not matter, yet they can provide information on their man’s size. I’m simply curious why? Why not actual just say things like “he is a little larger” rather than he is 9.5 inches or 5.5 inches (although I think, as an aside, that 9.5 inches is more related to mismeasurment than real). And if I may ask, for those women who have measured their men, may I ask why you would measure it - -was it, for example, your men asking you? Where you curious yourself, and if so, why?
I'm just curious and in no way mean to criticism anyone's past posts.
Personally I don't take a ruler to a guy's junk who I'm being sexually active with, because I don't really care to know what the exact size is. I think a lot of the women here say a specific size instead of giving a "ball park" figure or estimating, because most of the penis size worriers here are men, and men for the most part want to hear straightforward specific answers, not approximate or vague.
Men usually know their size down to the eighth inch, so if a guy tells me his exact size, I've seen it and looks about right, I take his word for it and just say "ok, whatever." I'd probably say that even if his claim looked way off, because I just don't care. But that's probably where many women get their information, from their guys telling them what their exact size is. Others may simply be making an educated guess, so when women say what size their guy is it doesn't necessarily mean they actually took a tape measure to it one day. I'm sure some have simply out of curiosity, but that does not mean that their feelings for their man would change because they found out the exact size, nor would it affect their sex life. There's nothing wrong with curiosity, but it should not have any bearing on the relationship.Leave a comment:

Your spelling sucks
but lizzard has stated she has pulled out a rule before.
I knew you were going to pull that card on me...
Bet the more posts you get, the more it points to MEN - proving their um POINT

I agree there is probable a pattern here or more men telling their wife/partner -- but lizzard has stated she has pulled out a rule before.
This is a hilarious thread, becasue to me it outlines that (1) the meaurement numbers in the past are so subjective -- a boyfriend telling his girlfriend -- that they can't be trusted, and (2) there are soem women who have actually taken a ruler out -- even in being goofy.
I am curious what otehr think, though. LOLLeave a comment:

where the . comes from is beyond me...The reason I know my fiances penis size is because he told meMy bf measured himself,There you go, a pattern, it's all about men, measuring themselves and telling the women their size.he measured it in front of me to prove it.Leave a comment:

I have no personally measured my fiances penis, but from what he told me it makes sense. My exes I did take a ruler and measure it, but only because we were joking around. It was just something we did out of pure goofiness. Otherwise, I've never measured another penis besides that one.Leave a comment:
