Thank you for all of your advice, but I want to clear the air on my age. I'm 24 and he is 25. We are both consenting adults who have been in love for quite a while, and I get a sense that he will be my husband. We live in our parents' houses due to him trying to look for a place of his own and my issue of not being able to afford a place of my own. It takes time for a post graduate who is trying to find a job in her field and a guy who just started his career a year ago to get financially comfortable during these tough times.
The reason why I'm scared that our parents will find out is there are times when they come to our rooms and we need a foolproof hiding place.

I I had thought about it I would have been more careful too. Turns out though that she is (or claims to be - this IS the internet) an adult.

Not criticizing those who do, but it just wasn't comfy for me. Little for me to add tho', after reading some if these responses

Hiding - if its just clothesline, it can be rolled up an put in a sock drawer (maybe inside a sock). Of course if they really go snooping they will find something. Of course if I thought someone was snooping, I might hid something REALLY interesting for them to find......

First of all, I am really am a 24 year old woman, but that is not the point of this topic. Wouldn't clothesline hurt the skin?

If you tie slip knots or fight against it a lot it might but you aren't doing serious bdsm. If the excitement is just the idea of being tied down then your partner is not going to do anything that hurts. They may not even get the rope all the way tight. Of course this is what safe words are for. If it does start to hurt you need a way to stop the other person and get free.

Softer rope or scarves are probably better. You can also wrap the cotheslines around cloth.

Hey Avatar, you mentioned in a more recent thread that you had sort of transformed since the writing of the hesitant OP here into a more assertive role that included increase in day-to-day confidence. I'm asking this question here instead of there because this thread has your background in it, which is probably more significant, but can you explain that journey in more detail? I find it very interesting, in part because I'm not aware of many sexual kinks that have a direct relation to how we live our 'normal' lives. The idea is pretty enlightening. (It also makes me want to experiment maybe a bit more with bondage, rawr. )

My journey as how it started or how it's boosting my confidence outside of the bedroom?

Well anything really. It's all interesting to me.

My boyfriend just brought it up. I guess he believed we he was in a relationship with me long enough (8 months) to trust me on doing this. It's all about trust. When he first brought it up I was a little freaked out because I thought of Dominatrix or 50 Shades of Grey, but that is both hardcore and 50 Shades of Grey stretches it to some unrealistic level. Plus, everyone I know looks down on that book because it is so unrealistic that it's stupid.
With my confidence about facing the big dilemma about starting my career, I think that is my subconscious thinking talking. Before I thought I wasn't able to tie him down and make him happy, but I did, so why can't I do that to an employer (not literally tying them down)?
