So on another thread we discussed the different kinds of sex-based relationships and I'm wondering who's had what that they enjoyed and that they regretted.

I've never had a one night stand, (which I define as sex with a stranger that you have no contact with after), I had a few bed buddies, some were once offs but not strangers, but most were multiple meetings, and one friend with benefits, which isn't really a sex-based relationship as it requires friendship 1st, but I'd bet (looking back) that HE probably considered it a booty call situation which in my opinion is more often a friend of a friend or someone in the friend circle you're not really close with. Actually when I look back I only had two relationships that included sex that WEREN'T sex based relationships and I married both of them, lol. The 1st time I was 17 and it lasted 9 month total from 1st date to him getting carted off to jail for violation of probation, which I didn't know he was on, and the 2nd is my current hubby and we started as friends and started seeing each other the day after my 20th birthday. With all this in mind I think maybe my outlook is quite a bit different than a lot of other women's.

So, what's the ratio for y'all (men and women)? Regrets, more happy than not? What kind of relationships have you had, would you like to have and which ones would you avoid completely?

I'm a free sprit. One that believes in being assertive. I don't "take" but I do what I want, it's my body after all.

I've been engaged 4 times, married once, will go round 2.

I've had one night stands, affairs with colleagues if you want to call it that, non- committal as it was the Hospitality Industry, I was attracted, visa versa, we never had a life, finishing at 3am on weekends, 1am week nights, worked NYE you get the picture so to me, I was "committed" in as much as who ever I slept with "apart from a one night stand" that would be the only person I slept with" And, if I didn't want to be with that person anymore? I left before moving on.

In my opinion "most" women have been used at some point in their lives. Told they were loved, he got the prize and then he left. Or , he played around on her, or he treated her like crap and had his reasons for going out with her.. Same, for the other way around, stayed with a guy, wasn't in love, enjoyed what she had and he questioned "why?" as in why didn't you want to have a proper relationship with me?

We are complex people, we are all individual and we have a right to do what we want, in my "opinion" as long as we don't hurt anyone in the process.

The problem with night stands, or one offs, is many times the guy doesn't see it that way,, some guys keep coming around figuring if you did it once you'll do it again,,, most of the time with me it's just infatuation or just plain old lust, so it's just a ONE time thing..

This is how I feel as well, if you add the word "intentionally" before hurt. We can avoid doing things we think or know will hurt someone but we sometimes do things that we didn't think would hurt them. And unless the 1st relationship you ever have is the last one, there's bound to be SOME hurt feelings on someone's part.

Just to respond to this, the one that I regret the most was the night I was raped by one of my first husbands so-called friends. We had only been separated a short period of time when this scum-bag called and asked to speak about my ex. I actually invited him over for coffee to talk, and got raped in my own home for my trouble.

To this day the regret stems from the fact that I didn't report it but went along with the threats that if I told I'd regret it more and probably lose my children to boot.

I'd like to add here that this is the first time I've ever publically told anyone about this. It's been a long time coming, but there it is and it feels like a weight is lifted for the first time in about 40 years.

So many take advantage of someone hurting and turn it into their gain I hurt for you over that, bless.
