Just to add that when you discount an entire generation of people based on preconceived notions of what and how they look or act, you are limiting yourself from knowing some wonderful people. You may not end up in a relationship with them but you've cut off the idea of even having an amazing friend. That which we forget may as well never really happened.Comment

I think it happens with both men and women back on the dating circuit later in life. People tend to have an unreasonable laundry list of what they are looking for. Nothing wrong with wanting a beautiful woman or a handsome man. But men and women in their 40s, 50s and beyond are never going to be or look 20. If previously married (or, never married before), there will always be emotional baggage. There are however, compensating qualities that the young are completely lacking."The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you." Despair.com "Dysfunction"Comment

The way I'm reading his post, JonDoe **wants** to find women his own age but doesn't want to go the online dating route and can't figure out where to go.
Frankly, JonDoe, I see an awful lot of action taking place at the grocery store. It's not uncommon for guys to approach ladies and ask them how to prepare this and that and to get a conversation going. Church and your free public library can be a good place to find someone. Maybe take a class in cooking, painting, or whatever interests you. I think the trick would be to get out and mingle where people your age will be.
FWIW, I'm glad to see a decision has finally been made and you're acting on it. Good luck on your search!Comment

One of the best ways to meet people is to find them doing the things you like to do. I you like to ski, then a ski resort is good. If you like concerts then you may meet people there. Even if you meet people who aren't available to date, that's fine - they may have friends and once they know you better they might introduce you.Comment

I have a few good friends who are 20 years younger then me and my wife. We get along very well with them. We learn from them a lot they very good friends and fun to be around we don't see age with them but a good friendship that is what counts.Just to add that when you discount an entire generation of people based on preconceived notions of what and how they look or act, you are limiting yourself from knowing some wonderful people. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.Comment

Work out, eat right, drink lots of water, avoid excess of any kind. Other than that, your possibilites are infinite since a lot of women are attracted to older men and find the experience exciting and a chance to learn more, on all fronts. As long as you realize that is cannot lead to something very serious and you don’t aim for women who are too young, it is okay and you should enjoy yourself. You can try and talk to an astrologer about what type of woman would be suited for you at this time in your life.Comment
