    New here, Pain after orgasm

    Here's the back story:

I am 20 and I have been sexually active (with only one guy - he took my virginity) for a year and a half. In the past few months I have become VERY depressed (for many reasons) and lately it (OR SOMETHING) has been irritating my sex life. First, In November I missed my period. It freaked me out and I took many, many pregnancy tests (all negative).

In December my period came normally, so I just dismissed it.

Now, this month I missed my period AGAIN, but this time, after one pregnancy test I felt better and just chalked it up to all the stress/depression. But now within the last few weeks, I have been having pain (identical to menstrual cramps) after I orgasm. It isn't related to penetration and happens when I get myself too.

Is all of this normal for my stress levels? Anyone have similar problems!? Any advice?

i personally havent experienced pain with an orgasm but i know your uterus does contract with orgasm. maybe the contractions of your uterus is the pain. maybe you just have an intense orgasm. if your really concerned then by all means ask your gyno about this.

Stress can alter your menstrual cycle, but any abnormal pain during or after sex needs to be brought to your doctors' attention. It may be embarassing, but you need to do it.

That fear of pregnancy is there. It is at the back of your mind and it is at the front of your mind. It just never goes away. How can you totally relax and give in to him and release yourself when this troublesome problem is there. You can imagine this orgasm pain. A person can make this so sure it is going to happen and wait for it that it will happen. That is how our mind works. The same thing can hold true of the regularity of your periods.

I would question is there anything else in your relationship that is causing this. Are you happy? I believe being a woman myself, that the giving of your sexual body to another person is one of the hardest things in life that I ever had to do. This was my place. This was my chalice that I had saved all my life and then I had to learn to share it with someone else.

Honey, these are just my thoughts....

            Hi All i'm a newbeeeeeeeee

I found this site because i am worried about the pain i sometimes have after orgasm. Its like severe period cramps, and like a couple of yourselves its not just after intercorse either, the first time it happened it was like my body went into shock, i felt sick cold sweats and lots of pain this only lasted about 20 minutes but it was awful. I also notice that i get these cramp like pains when i have been running, I do quite a lot of running at work and am doubled up in pain at the end of it. I have made an appointment with my doctor for this Wednesday so will see what she is saying and will let you all know

              What is it?

hello, i have the same problem, major pain after orgasm, like the worst cramps in my stomach/uterus so bad it takes my breath away and I go into hot sweats. Nothing I do relieves it and it lasts for 20 minutes or so then goes. I've had it before, it only happens once in a blue moon but it can't be right. Its so painful I worry what it could be. Also, the times it has happened hasn't involved penetration at all. I am 27 and in a relationship of 10 years and enjoy a healthy sex life but I'm really worried why I have this problem...it helps to know i'm not the only one...does anyone know what it could be??? HELP!

                Me too!

Just in case this can help someone.
Have been experiensing terrible uterus pain for a couple of years after orgasms and with estimulation. Have seen my GYN, been refered to vaginal therapy, but didn't help. I went to see an acupuncturist and it was increible, he heated my uterus with light and herbs (like a cigar). Oh my god! It worked! No pain after sex for about 2 weeks. Unfortunatelly I was unable to continue my treatment because of funds and because is too far from where I live. The MD thinks is fibrocystic syndrome and exploratory surgery might be necessary. My pain has worsen, now it radiates to my umbilical. I usually take pain medicine right before I engage in sexual activity this way the pain is not as bad. Good luck!

Quite a few years ago in my twenty's I experienced a period when I would have pain after orgasms that were self induced, not with sex. I went to my gyno to have a check up and all was in order. It is a good idea to get it medically checked. It righted itself after a few months and the gyno put it down to uterus contractions.

A lot of the people posting on this sight seem to be in this age bracket, just an observation.

My advice, go to the dr but don't stress too much about it.

As I type this, i am in post-orgasmic pain. I have experienced this for years. What I started doing was writing down in my calendar each time it happened. In doing so, I noticed that the pain only occurred during ovulation or a week or so before my cycle would start. Around those times the body is really going through some changes. When I noticed this I was a bit more comfortable with dealing with the pain. I hope this helps.
