Hi I'm new to the site and also have this pain. I'm 35 now but have cranky pain and a dull ache of my lower abdomen and ovaries after I orgasm. Self induced. I have had endometriosis and painful periods for years. After reading all of these posts I feel less stupid about thinking everyone had this. It wasn't til recently that I mentioned to a friend the pain and found out it wasn't normal. Having this disease symptomatic a long time a consistent sex life if 1 at all has been difficult. I also have ademyosis which explains my pain too. After my last surgery on my ovaries that orgasm pain went away for a while but now it's back....during ovulation and rt before my period. I think all the time I'm just deprived.
I started dating someone and am aroused more and am now experiencing the pain for days after like I have been reading. I am seeing a new doctor and the explanation is... Contraction / orgasm=pain because of disease. but the depression and stress these issues put on us is real and I'm grateful for all of these posts. It's a lonely problem. I was also diagnosed w a gluten intolerance but it didn't improve this issue. I will try the pelvic exercises. I've read that helps the endo pain also. Thanks for sharing and best of lick! I wish us all pain free incredible orgasmic sex lives we deserve it

I am in my mid 40s and have been having cramps for days after orgasms for several years now. I don't know what it is, but it is not serious enough to have exploratory surgery! I have a grandma that died from exploratory surgery. It is good to know that it happends to a lot of females. All I have read is that doctors have no idea what causes it or how to stop it. Anyone seen a doc that knows what it is and how to cure it?

Ok, i've been reading most of these posts and still wondering what wrong with me. Heres what happens: my uterus aches normally, but not bad. When my bf and i have intercourse and i'm on top it goes fine for a while, depending on how long, if i orgasm I feel a slight ache after we're done, but then it gets bad to the point where i throw up and do that for like 5 mins, the pain lasts about 15mins. I've been ichy and sore on the outside, near the clitoris area. i went to the gyno a couple of weeks ago and i tested negative for yeast infection. what is wrong with me? my uterus should not hurt that bad, makes me scared to have sex, my bf thinks he's hurting me. I started having this over a year ago, i rarely get a time where i don;t have the pain-there were some times, but sadly not many. please any advice? trust me i plan on calling the gyno but i figure i can give some suggestions.

i am 18 and this has been going on for the past 2 and half years - it started the odd cramping after orgasm every now and again then it became every day - i would get 1 pain free week out of a month.

in november 2009 i went on the contraceptive injection (depo provera) along with taking the contraceptive pill (cilest) - i am still on both of these due to very heavy and irregular periods - this has stopped them completely, i take 1 pill everyday and have my injection every 2 and half months (as if i leave it 3months like u are supose to i come on for weeks!)

i decided to go to my doctor - i had scans outside my stomach (ultrasound) and a camera up inside of me - all they found was i have polycystic ovaries and a tilted uterus. the pain continued to get worse - by this time (jan 2011) as soon as i had an orgasm i was straight to the toilet crying, sweating, heaving and getting chills.

in july 2011 i had a laparoscpy (camera inside me) expected them to find endometriosis.. NOTHING. everything was perfectly normal and healthy looking.

in september 2011 this pain was more than severe - its what i imagine birth contractions are like seeing women on tv giving birth- my reactions are exactly the same after!

i got given NORTRIPTYLINE and got told to take 1 every night and 2 if it was that bad for 3 weeks.. 2 tables a day and 5 weeks later - NOTHING!!!!

words cannot explain how much pain i am in afterwards and am desperate for an answer and will not give up until i get one.

i have been given even stronger tablets to start taking tomorrow and been given an appointment to see a pain specialist.

if anyone has an answer PLEASE message me.

i will be back and post an update after i have seen the specialist.

also for a few months (june2011-sept 2011) i got this urge to push! (am not pregnant either!) it now gets to the point where i am physically sick afterwards to.

I am 40 and have had these pains after orgasm now for 10 years after a few test and the doctors finding nothing my doctor put it down to the ovary twisting and the pain is from the cut off of blood slupply. This is very common in mens testicals when they twist and they put a few stitches in the tube to keep it in place. The doctor did say that a twisting ovary can be very dangerous and if the pain last for any major length of time that you should go to the hospital. After everything I have read this sounds like the only thing it could be and it also sound very common but because of the embassment of the subject many women dont want to talk about it.

I suffer from Endometriosis. The pain is intolerable and I'm only 18. I noticed as I slowly move towards adulthood - pain from orgasms popped up. And also alot of pressure in my lower region post-workout. (I've also never had an orgasm with a man before, only by myself.) Doesn't that just sound horrible! Lol! Anyways, you should definitely ask your doctor if you are having suffer tissue swelling do to hormones. An overproduction of prostaglandin's is what one of the doctors told me what is causing the pain.. You go girl!

Hey Becky, are you hurting alot more when your menstrating? If so, Endometriosis can be hidden in different parts of your lower region. Sometimes they miss it during a larposcopy. I have Endometriosis and I'm always in severe pain. Sometimes there isn't an explanation. My pain was so bad, I did the exact same thing you've been doing. Puking, and screaming in pain. The doctors haven't done much to help me. They put me on heavy narcotics that didn't work. What you should try, is Turadol. It works like a champ for me. Also, as you slowly get older - your body is finishing it's changes. I'm sure your pain is going to subside in the next couple years. But for now, let us know what your doing to help with the pain!

I'm 46 years old, and for the past 4-5 years, I've been having really bad cramps and pains just before my cycles. The pain started about a week and a half before my cycle, lasting 5 days. It would be on the right side of my uterus, with sharp pains shooting to my right butt cheek/back pelvic bone, and the pain would also shoot down my right leg to my knee. It was so intense I would double over, unable to move, and would do lamaze breathing. About that same time I started having really bad pain when I orgasm.

So I had laparoscopic surgery and they found endometriosis and adhesions around my uterus. They removed them, but I still continued to have the really bad pains. I had two fibroids at that time, about marble sized. A year later, there were 3 more. But the GYN isn't concerned about them. After finding out my grandmother had the same shooting pains in the butt/pelvic area and down the leg, and later died of colon cancer, I had an colonoscopy done (at age 44). Turned out I had two trigger spots on my colon, and 2 good sized polyps. The monthly pains subsided a little, but the pain when I orgasm hasn't. I just finished a 6-month shot called Lupron Depot which stopped my periods and put me in a temporary menopause. But I still continue to have pelvic pain when I orgasm. Sorry if this is too graphic, but the pain starts from the front left pelvic bone and shoots to the front uterus area and to my anal area. I usually end up curling into a ball because it feels like someone is ripping me apart on the inside.

I've also been seeing a chiropractor, and they said my pelvic bone is twisted. They keep adjusting my L3, the sacrum, and she even did the front pelvic area (which hurt like crazy). After about 3 months of adjustments, I'm not really seeing any improvement. However, I did find out from the nutritionist at the chiro's office, that sugar, flours, grains, oats, corn, corn products, white rice, and white potatoes create too much glucose in the body and that feeds endometriosis. So, I've had to cut all of that out of my diet.

I'm going to go back to see my gastroenterologist to see what he says. My GYN doesn't think that a hysterectomy will remedy the problem. I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what's wrong with me.
