That's not really true fallen. I've known a fair few circumcised guys (nothing like in the US) and all of them wished it hadn't been done (or didn't have to be done). I don't know a single man who wished he was circumcised.

Little, it's a confusing subject medically speaking, but I've read several reports that the dangers raised by complications of the procedure outweigh the slight health benefit - which is negated if you're willing to have a wash a few times a week.

Also, a foreskin is extremely important for masturbation! (in my opinion why the jews decided to get rid of it - puritans).

You know, I was discussing this with my boyfriend shortly after I posted and to my surprise he said the same - wished he hadn't been. I think his reasoning was that it was something that was decided for him and not his choice.

I can see the risk of infection after the procedure. I remember how much of a pain in the a*s it was to take care of my sons after they had it done. Every time you changed their diaper you had to medicate the wound.

I'm not a guy but if I were I think I'd prefer it done simply because it would be less of a headache to keep clean. But who knows, if I were a guy maybe I'd feel different.

Maybe the best thing to do when faced with the choice is to let the father of the child make the decision based on his experience???

Just curious as to how it is important for masturbation? Does it have to do with the way it feels?

The Jews didn't decide on their own. They were instructed by God. If I understand correctly it was to be a "sign" that they were his chosen people. I'd be interested in knowing how this practice spread from the Jews to other groups of people.

I talked about it with my boyfriend and he described the cleaning process as meticulous. He said that if he had a son, he'd have him circumcised because of the complications that can arise from not cleaning correctly. I reckon that it would be kind of hard for "daddy" to teach "baby" to clean right if he never had to himself.
Oh my God, it has everything to do with masturbation. Or hand jobs/blow jobs. A guy who isn't circumcised is incredibly easier to "get off." I never had sex with the guy, just a short relationship, but there was no such thing as a half-hour-long blow job ... and as women, I think we can ALL appreciate that.

Really, that's interesting. I would think it would be just the opposite.

What Little speaks about I have heard many, many times...Unless a man keeps himself clean, the smell can be pretty bad...My husband knew of men in the service who had this done even at this age. This was because of this problem and the nusiance it involved. Yes it was painful but they also spoke of the new awakening with sex. We had our son's done in the hospital within the first few days and have never heard of problems along this line...I am sure when they are older it is very painful.

I have only known one man sexually and only one way....I have seen many pictures of other men who are not circumcised, I love the plain clean hot fixture that I can get at any time I want to....I would not have it any other way.....

The guys I feel worst for are the ones who are circumcised and the skin stretches too tight when he's hard (you will see this in porn sometimes). That looks like it would hurt or make it bend the wrong way. The problem is that there's no way to know how big a guy will get as he grows up and sometimes there is not enough skin left. The ideal situation is to have just enough excess skin so that it feels somewhat loose when you're 100% hard. But overall being circumcised is more hygienic and women seem to prefer the aesthetics of it.

You know that's a good point. As a matter of fact my boyfriend had said once in a discussion that he thought that maybe to much was taken from him because of how tight his skin is when hard. And now that you mention it his is a little curved when hard also.

But as another thought, our skin tends to stretch as it needs to. That is when we gain weight but I guess there is a limit as to how much it can stretch.

Yup. That's a big factor. But also, he doesn't know what he's missing, because he's never had it. It's like if you take a baby tiger and bring it up in your flat - it doesn't even know what gazelle on the grasslands look like, so it can't miss it, but it's still wrong.

It's not just the immediate risks of infection that are the problem, there are far more risks.

You would feel differently if you were a guy. What's all this about it being so difficult to clean? Over here in the UK somehow we all manage it... You're in the shower, you pull your foreskin back and wash behind it, that's it - it takes no longer than 4 seconds. Absolutely no reason to hack off part of your sexual organs. Maybe if you like to go 2 weeks between showers then a circumcision is for you, but otherwise that's ridiculous.

Except that if the father is circumcised, he might just do it for the sake of it, since he had it done to him and knows no different - thus continuing the circle of hate.

Hmmm, I gotta think of a way to describe this without making a video... Basically, between your foreskin and the head of your penis there is some natural lubrication. Because of this, the foreskin slides over the head of the penis without creating friction. Hence, if you want to masturbate, you just slide the foreskin up and down....

If you didn't have it... I don't really know how you could do it without constantly spitting on your hands or using lube or whatever. And it isn't just me, all uncircumcised men wonder how the hell circumcised men masturbate.

The thing is, he hasn't experienced what it's like to have one, and doesn't know that it's unbelievable easy to clean. There are far more "complications" (such as slightly deformed penises that don't really work) that result from the operation. In the past when we didn't wash it might've been true that whatevers been growing under your foreskin for 2 months could make your **** fall off, but not any more. It's outdated.

My gosh, it's so easy... Just pull back the foreskin, and give it a quick rinse, it's not rocket science. Even the mother could do it without ever having seen a penis before.

Yes, circumcision drastically reduces sexual pleasure, in different ways. The main one being that every minute that you're walking around, your clothes are rubbing at your exposed sensitive gland, wearing it away. The other is as I've said to Fallen, the masturbation thing. Women masturbate men too, so you should appreciate it! Makes the job far easier.

For your next post fallen - I think I've explained why sexual pleasure is reduced so much for circumcision "victims".

CarolineWH, someone had a circumcision as an adult (known to be one of the most painful operations there is - my friend had it done for medical reasons and he was in agony for weeks/months) because he couldn't be bothered to wash it in the bloody shower? Feet can smell too, should we cut those off?

It seems a bit like he's clutching at straws to support circumcision just because he's had it done to him. Problems like that are unfortunately common, and often worse than he is. And still... the 4 seconds it takes to clean a day are enough reason to get snipper happy..

                    I despair sometimes.

Do any of you Americans wonder why nobody else in the world does it except the Jews? It's because it's DUMB.

Bit confused here Anon. Maybe this comment wasn't meant in response to me? Just wondering because I had stated that he says he wishes his parents hadn't done it.
