I think it's been pushed under the rug deliberately. For how many centuries was it considered abnormal or immoral for women to have any kind of sexual interest? I think at one point it was even considered a sign of insanity. Women were supposed to be eager to please their husbands but they weren't supposed to enjoy the sex itself. Unfortunately, many people promote this idea and many women still have to suffer because of it.
Meanwhile it's always emphasized that men will want to hump anything with a pulse. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I think the natural state of affairs is (or should be) for both men and women to have high drives. But for me the surprise has been that there are plenty of men who've lost interest in sex for reasons other than old age. And that's something you don't hear much about either.Comment

I agree totally Tex!! Back to the one part where you were talking about his job...I forgot to be specific with that information. He has the same job for over 26years...what I meant was when he went back after his hunt...he goes hunting twice a year for a week with his buddies so last week he was coming back and going back to work this week.
Sometimes I just don't think some men really know what they want. They think they want a really young horny wife(I'm 9yrs younger) and then when it finally happens I don't think they really know what to do so they turn to the good old stand bye of it is my age. To me if you are horny enough to go look at porn and do your self and then turn around and tell your wife your just not horny anymore so if you want anything your going to have to work at it to get me in the mood is just pure !!
I'm NOT giving up but it sure is hard to feel like I am the only one trying to work things out while the other person thinks there is nothing wrong with how things are...it's a difficult road to travel I will say and an uphill battle.
Thanks for all the input!!Comment

For a women keeping it juicy is an ongoing process, it has to do with our attitude, expectations, health, stress levels and self (and other) conditioning. I'm starting to see that may be the case for many men as well.
Personally, I can have sex just about any time without foreplay - do I want to have sex without foreplay all the time? No. I love foreplay, I can do hours of it, even days! Keeping yourself on simmer is what those of us with high drives do, maybe not consciously, but we do.
Many women never figure this out. Our "parts" are tucked away and arousal isn't as obvious for us. But for men it's all right up front. Any woman who has had a son knows even newborns get errections. It direct feedback and they figure it out pretty fast without even being entirely aware of it. So males grow up knowing certain things get them going. They have an expectation of arousal even before all those hormones kick into high gear. It happens to little girls too but it isn't as obvious. We aren't handling our sex organ everytime we pee.
What if many men, especially with all the high fat diets and artificial hormone receptors in our food, immersion into the world of video and all - start to lose contact with that sexual feedback? Are many of them becoming as disconnected from their sexuality as many woman have been for generations?
The porn and masterbation thing is quite another thing.Comment

From my own perspective, keeping it juicy should not be solely one partner's responsibility. I don't disagree at all that outside societal (Western society anyway) is starting to evolve into more gender neutral roles even if it's not parity as of yet. Personally, I tend to see this as a transitional period toward gender neutrality especially as it relates to work and family. Stay at home dads, home based businesses are really relatively new concepts just as it is with women having more and more high profile executive positions. With these trends will ultimately have shifts in what has been traditionally associated with work/family emotions.
I agree in part with the statement that men are becomming somewhat disconnected with their own sexuality. However, at the same time, women are also starting to become more connected with their own. I would say just look at our own forum and see how these are starting to become true. There are many young, assertive women here who are very comfortable with their own sexuality and who are in relationships where (for the most part) their partners aren't intimidated by it. That's a great thing in my opinion even if it does go against those lessons we've been taught by our parents.
Just my thoughts.Comment
