Again, this goes toward your belief system. You think humans are just animals. I disagree. Promiscuity works fine with bonobos. Even the babies get involved. But in humans it leads to the spread of disease, unwanted pregnancy, emotional scarring, broken families, jealousy, violence, and sorts of other problems.

Also, plural marriage and promiscuity are two different things.
Maybe we shouldn't use promiscuity so literally in this case. Having a happy sex life is not promiscuity!
Whether with one person or several in a lifetime, is a personal choice. The point is to be aware of your needs
as much as the other to be able to enjoy it to it's fullest. Does not mean jumping every person you see!

I believe it is an error to compare human sexual behavior with animals, regardless of our biology. A dog will mate with its offspring, for example, but that doesn't justify humans doing it. I don't mean to be judgmental. I'm only saying that animal standards of behavior do not necessarily circumscribe what is proper behavior for people. Having said that, consensual sex is a personal decision and not one other people need to judge. Each person is guided by his or her own moral compass. Each of us thinks ours is the best one, of course.

I agree with a lot you say, cathygirl. I do think that judging decisions is necessary, though. Otherwise, how would you make moral choices?

Where it becomes iffy is with "gray" areas and personal choices that don't really involve morality. There's also a difference between judging choices and judging people. Both have a time and place though.
