So yeah I would definitely call that as a relative not an absolute. To me personally it's not an acceptable one. Maybe I am being shallow, but I don't care. I've been told all my life that it's what's inside that counts, but every single time, at least in relationships, it's been what's outside that's counted for me.

But that's exactly my point. Women are coming in here and saying "I've had a 9" penis, but size doesn't matter to me". When in reality it's more like "I'll accept your 5" penis since you have other better qualities than that other guy with 9 incher, even though I do wish you were a bit bigger".You're the one raising the argument that penis size has absolutely no importance and love conquers all, then trouncing those arguments. Most everyone that disagrees with you is speaking in terms of degrees, not absolutes.

Even if true, wouldn't most women prefer to be with someone incredibly wealthy, everything else being equal? Or someone with phenomenal musical talent? Or who is a world-class doctor? Why separate out this one issue?

Because sex is what defines a relationship. Without it, all you have is a friendship.Originally posted by rcoreyusEven if true, wouldn't most women prefer to be with someone incredibly wealthy, everything else being equal? And there's guys that spend a lifetime trying to get rich to be attractive to women. I learned from a young age they just want a hot guy, and penis size is part of that equation (not the only thing but it counts). It's only once they want to "settle down" that they start ignoring their primal urges and seeking the "safe" provider type dude.
I'm a really really good piano player. Not a single woman has cared. Musical talents only matters when it carries novelty, like being a rock star. Again, there's guys out there who get into bands and stuff primarily to get women.
It all ties back to the ladder theory. The theory is valid as much as people want to deny it.Pigeonholer extraordinaire!Comment

Wrong! - there is much more to a relationship than sex... if sex is the only thing you are basing a relationship on then you have a lot to learnOriginally posted by ObeliskBecause sex is what defines a relationship. Without it, all you have is a friendship.

Women will often say they want a hot sexy guy with a big penis, but in reality what they really want is a man who is not afraid to help them with the dishes or do the washing.... sometimes a man who is very domesticated around the house is more of a turn on to a woman than a lazy man with a large penis
I've been playing the bass guitar for 20 years in various bands and when I met my wife and told her this she was excited and wanted to see my band play - and I didn't get in a band to get chicks either!
a woman who is only interested in a mans penis is a very shallow woman in my opinion
as I mentioned on the other penis thread size is not important and although I am small in that dept I can please my wife with my hands and mouth - and with other things I do around the house
sure sex is important in a relationship but it is not the be all and end all.
I suggest if you have an issue with your penis size, you get professional helpComment

I like the Urban Dictionary explanations of Ladder Theory, especially definitions #2 and #3. They may be relevant to this discussion.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
