I do think some women grossly over-estimate or take their lying boyfriend's word for it. If I wanna know for sure how big it is I have no qualms about whipping out a ruler! I did it only recently to my boyfriend. It's funny though because he was pushing the ruler further in against his belly, which added a few centimeters, lol. Anyway, I've also measured the length of my hand from the base of the palm to the tip of my middle finger and know that's 6 inches so I can get a rough estimate by using my hand as a base for comparison.

But uh, yeah. Size isn't the only thing. I kinda wish my boyfriends was maybe an inch shorter so he wouldn't bang my cervix all the time!
Well some people say that you shouldn't tempt fate, and for them I can not disagree. But I never learned nothing from playing it safe; I say fate should not tempt me. I take my chances.

I wish mine was a few inches shorter so I wouldn't accidentally step on it all the time.

      Obligitory defensive male response

I hear it's all about the girth, and I'd guess a normal-sized fully erect penis is better than a large generally-flacid penis which is difficult to sustain.

I have not measured the family penis (belonging foremost to my husband). It doesn't matter if my guess would be a 1/2 inch off or so. Size isn't a factor for us. I guess if he were tiny, that might be a small (pardon the pun) problem, but there are other things to please a person if the penis is not quite doing the trick 100% of the time.

Amen. I've spent the last several years (yes, years) in a depression because of this problem. I've had 2 different women cheat on me and tell me pretty much to my face that it was because I wasn't big enough. What made it worse is that it's true as I'm smaller than average. Wound up getting on Paxil and having to go through therapy to deal with it. It's amazing how something like that can leave scars as deep as they do.

            Troop,

Every woman takes her measure of a man in her own way. And sooner or later every woman has a life experience where a man showed them how wrong they were.

            Stay strong.

              Troop.
If my penis fell off, I could still make my lady very happy. Concentrate on what you have that works and works well. Learn a new skill (ie. going downtown). My guess is that if you've been left by two ladies for the same reason, it's probably because you aren't making them happy in other ways that have little to do with your penis size.

Most women I know of, if they're willing to be with you to begin with - will stay with you if you're a good man and you're doing things right in general life as well as in the bed (regardless of your size). HOWEVER: If you're not making her happy AND you have a little woodie, then it's bye-bye Troop.

              My advice is to
              1) Be a stand-up guy. Treat your lady right and ALWAYS do the right thing by her. Make good sound choices and stand by your lady.
              2) Make her very happy in bed. Make her SOOOOooo happy, she's amazed at what an outstanding lover you are.
              3) Don't worry about having less than normal down there. You can overcome it. Most women don't orgasm from penetrative sex anyway. Work around the problem.
              4) Pull yourself up out of your depression by your boot-straps. In other words, it's time to be a man, stand up proud and admire YOURSELF for what you have to offer, not for one shortcoming. And don't make your self-admiration empty. DO SOMETHING TO BE ADMIRED FOR! (refer to #1 and #2 above).

              Cheers.

Oh yeah, I have. I'm happily married now, we just had to work through issues. Mainly thanks to the Paxil, I've got a clearer and more realistic outlook on everthing, so it's all good now. All this happened when I was pretty young (19-20 years old, 36 now) but it left a lot of scars because I was already worried about it when I was a virgin, lost my virginity, and then off she goes. I've since learned that it's basically young ity. You hear what others have and wonder what you're missing out on, and that's the way she was.

Just wanted to chime in since I'm sensitive to this topic. Cutting someone down like that over something they have no control over CAN and sometimes does have very long lasting effects. Emotional scars are usually the deepest and heal the slowest.

                  Fire(m),

I could not more agree with you.

As you said, most women do not orgasm from intercourse, and there are so many many ways to make us happy in the bed that do not need certain equipment.

I had a relation with a guy who was firmly build but sucked as a lover and I have known a guy with serious ED problems and he was the best lover ever.

Hey, we ladies worry about the size of our b**ps too, I know that is silly and does not make us less or more attractive, but you know what? I still worry once in a while.

As a slightly side track: Many men (myself included) prefer small breasts, rather than "emergency flotation devices". Not "will settle for", but prefer. Of course some men prefer large, but from what little I've heard, it seems like a fairly even division.
