Clarisse Quirit Rella, MSOT, CTRS
I have been a recreational therapist for 8 years at The Mount Sinai Hospital in the Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance in New York City, primarily working with individuals who have had a stroke, spinal cord injury, limb loss, traumatic brain injury, cancer, and other conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
I received my Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and my Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Developmental Disabilities from CUNY Lehman College.
During my studies, I gravitated towards learning more about sexual health, assistive technology, and intimacy for people with and without disabilities. This is such an important yet sensitive topic, and I love that Women’s Health Interactive offers a safe platform that is judgement free and warmly opens conversations about several topics about sex, sex toys, pleasure, sexual relationships, and women’s health.
As a writer for WHI, I'd love to help share resources on accessibility, explore non-traditional paths, personal stories, experiences, and challenges for anyone looking for ways to rekindle connections and explore new sensations.
When I'm not working, I play the piano and draw, I enjoy learning about aquaponics, different types of plants, the beautiful concept of hygge, eating different cuisines, and enjoying newlywed life with my husband.
