Finding a water-based lube that’s actually good for your body (not just marketed that way) is a lot harder than it should be.

Foria’s first water-based lubricant, Juicy Pure, has changed the game with a 95% organic, aloe-based formula that actually respects vaginal AND anal pH.

In fact, with a pH of 4.5 to 5.5, it is the very first water-based lubricant we have ever used that is equally effective and safe for masturbation, oral sex, vaginal sex, and anal sex.

It’s also universally compatible with all condoms and sex toy materials, making it a genuinely versatile everyday option for intimacy of any kind.

What To Know About Foria Juicy Pure

  • It took Foria more than a decade to perfect the formula, and it’s built with the same clean ingredient standards they hold all of their oil-based products to.
  • It is the first water-based lubricant we’ve been able to deem a perfect fit for anal sex because its pH (4.5 to 5.5) matches the environment of the vagina and anus and won’t disturb the microbiome of either.
  • The aloe-based formula is fully compatible with all condom materials (latex, polyisoprene, polyurethane, lambskin, nitrile) and all sex toy materials (including silicone, latex/rubber, glass, metal, and more).
  • It’s free from glycerin, parabens, petroleum-derived ingredients, synthetic fragrance or flavors, and it’s also vegan and cruelty-free.

Our team has been testing Juicy Pure since it hit the shelves, using it in solo and partnered scenarios and comparing it directly against other clean lubes in the same category.

The results were consistently good, but all the juicy details are definitely worth knowing!

Our Hands-On Experience Using Foria Juicy Pure

Foria has been a brand we’ve kept a close eye on for years; they were early pioneers in the clean sexual wellness space, and their cult-favorite Intimacy Sex Oil with CBD earned a loyal following for good reason.

So when the brand announced that they were finally answering years of customer requests with their first water-based formula, Juicy Pure, we were genuinely curious to see if they could bring the same level of ingredient integrity to a category that’s notorious for sketchy additives and irritating preservatives.

When the bottle arrived, the first thing I noticed was how clean and “modern wellness” the packaging is: a simple bottle with a wood-like cap that looks as at-home in a bathroom cabinet as it does on a nightstand.

“The packaging and wooden cap are very sleek,” another product tester from our team, Chris, noted. “And it doesn’t really spill or drip, but you do have to make sure the cap is closed.”

There’s no clinical squeeze bottle aesthetic here; it feels intentional and seriously elevated. And that design sensibility carries right through to the formula itself.

My husband and I are usually silicone-based lube loyalists, so trying Foria Juicy Pure was a refreshing change of pace for both of us.

The texture is a lot lighter than I expected; it’s thin but not watery, and genuinely smooth, with a slip that feels as close to my body’s own natural lubrication as any lube I’ve tried.

closeup detail of a single drop of foria juicy pure on the tip of a finger with the red foria box right beneath it

“It kept things wet, without being too wet, and the consistency was just right — not too drippy or sloppy, but also not too thick either,” Chris explained.

Juicy Pure doesn’t have that sticky, gel-like consistency you often get with drugstore options.

It spreads easily, absorbs naturally over time, and importantly (to me, at least), doesn’t leave a tacky residue when things wind down.

The subtle scent of chamomile and vanilla is so light it’s nearly imperceptible, which is exactly what you want from a product going anywhere near sensitive tissue.

Now, if you’re scent-sensitive (like me!), you might notice the smell more than others, so it’s something to be aware of.

Fellow Foria tester, Alison, said, “The scent doesn’t bother me, but those who are really sensitive to smells might not enjoy that aspect of it. I love the flavor, however. It’s sweet and light, but not overpowering.”

One thing worth noting: because Juicy Pure is water-based, it doesn’t have quite the staying power of an oil-based lube, and you may need to reapply during longer sessions.

That’s simply the nature of water-based lubes, not a formulation flaw.

One application was plenty for my husband and me during intercourse, which was impressive; personally, the wetter the better is my go-to feeling, and that can be a challenge for water-based lubes.

That said, when my husband and I switched things up to a hand job and other forms of foreplay, I found myself reapplying a few times.

So for longer sessions or different activities, you might be reaching for the bottle more than once.

Fellow Juicy Pure tester, Chris, said that hand jobs required reapplication after a moderate amount of time, but for both vaginal and anal sex, one application worked well.

At just $20 for a 4-ounce bottle, Juicy Pure sits at an accessible price point for a clean, organic product, which means it’s really easy to get your hands (and your other parts!) on.

What Is Foria Juicy Pure?

a box and a bottle of foria juicy pure laying on a green fabric background

Foria Juicy Pure is a water-based personal lubricant — the brand’s first foray into this lube category — built on an organic aloe vera base rather than plain water.

Launched in February 2026, Juicy Pure is a direct response to literal years of customer requests for a condom-compatible, clean formula that could stand alongside Foria’s existing oil-based and CBD lube products without compromising on ingredient quality.

Made with 95% certified organic ingredients, Juicy Pure was designed for anyone who wants the lighter feel and universal compatibility of a water-based lube without the harsh preservatives, synthetic additives, and irritating ingredients found in so many conventional options.

The formula is dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic, vegan, and free from glycerin, parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrance, and gluten.

Juicy Pure has a shelf life of two years from the manufacturing date, with an optimal 12-month window once opened.

The pH is balanced at 4.5–5.5, which falls within the naturally healthy range for vaginal tissue, and it is the first water-based lubricant that we’ve found that has a pH high enough (5.5) to be ideal for anal sex.

(Trust me when I tell you we’ve been hunting for that for years.)

How Does Foria Juicy Pure Work?

clarisse holding a bottle of juicy pure lube in her hand with text overlay that says it's made without parabens and glycerin

Juicy Pure reduces friction during intimacy by adding external lubrication that supplements the body’s own natural moisture.

But it does this a little differently than most water-based lubes, thanks to its aloe-first formulation.

Foria uses organic aloe leaf juice, a hydrating botanical that delivers a more body-like glide.

Aloe’s natural viscosity and water-binding properties make it feel smooth and fluid on contact without the stiffness or gel-heaviness of some synthetic water-based lubes.

Plant-derived guar gum and xanthan gum work together to create the lube’s soft, cushiony consistency, while chamomile flower extract adds a calming, anti-inflammatory botanical element that helps soothe sensitive tissue on contact.

Especially for people prone to irritation or dealing with dryness, this makes Juicy Pure not just functional but genuinely nourishing in the moment.

The pH-balancing action of citric acid helps keep the formula in that 4.5–5.5 sweet spot.

This is important because many lubricants have a pH that’s too alkaline and can disrupt the vaginal (or anal) microbiome, potentially contributing to discomfort or infections people would naturally prefer to avoid.

Finally, stevia and vanilla flavor round out the sensory experience with a very subtle natural sweetness and flavor, enough to make the experience more exciting during oral sex.

How To Use Foria Juicy Pure

close up photograph of single drop of juicy pure being poured from the cap to demonstrate how easy it is to dispense drop by drop

Juicy Pure is easy to use; there’s no real learning curve here. That said, a few tips will help you get the most out of it.

  • Start with a small amount (few drops). You can always add more, but starting light helps you gauge how much you actually need.
  • Apply directly to the desired area: vulva, vaginal opening, penis, or any other area involved in play. It can also be applied directly to a toy or condom before use.
  • Because Juicy Pure is water-based and will gradually absorb into the skin, keep the bottle nearby for reapplication during longer sessions. (This is completely normal with all water-based lubes and isn’t a sign that the product isn’t working.)
  • If you’re using it with a condom, Juicy Pure is fully compatible with latex, polyisoprene, and all standard condom materials.
  • For toy play, Juicy Pure is compatible with all toy materials, including silicone, glass, stainless steel, and ABS plastic.
  • After use, rinse off with warm water. One of the biggest benefits of a water-based formula is that it washes away easily without residue on skin or fabric.
  • Store the bottle at room temperature in a cool, dry place (and out of direct sunlight).

Foria Juicy Pure Top Features

closeup detail of a single drop of foria juicy pure on the tip of a finger with the red foria box right beneath it

Juicy Pure is a well-rounded product, but a few standout qualities truly set it apart from the sea of conventional water-based lubes on the market.

The top features of Foria Juicy Pure include:

  • pH-balanced formula (4.5–5.5) for every kind of sexual activity
  • 95% certified organic ingredients
  • Natural lubrication feel
  • Universal condom and toy compatibility
  • Free from glycerin, parabens, and more

pH-Balanced Formula For EVERY Type Of Sexual Activity

side panel of the foria juicy pure box that explains its certified 95% organic, pH-balanced, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, smooth, and vegan friendly

This might be the most underrated feature of Juicy Pure, but it’s one that’s especially important to us (and something that a lot of lubes get wrong).

The vaginal environment maintains a naturally acidic pH of roughly 3.8–4.5, and products that stray too far outside that range can disrupt the microbiome, create an environment more hospitable to yeast or bacterial overgrowth, or simply cause that “off” feeling people sometimes notice after using certain lubes.

Juicy Pure’s pH of 4.5–5.5 keeps the formula close to the body’s natural range, supporting vaginal health rather than working against it.

For people who have previously experienced irritation or imbalance after using conventional lubes, this detail is worth paying attention to.

At the same time, the pH range is perfectly matched to anal use (5.5) as well.

It’s honestly taken us years (years!) to find a water-based lubricant that not only has an anal-safe pH, but one that accommodates any and every sexual activity: masturbation, oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex, toy play, and condom use.

As far as I’m concerned, Juicy Pure is the unicorn we’ve been searching for… and finally found.

95% Certified Organic Ingredients

close up detail of the organic certifications on the back of the foria juicy pure box

Foria has never been the kind of brand to throw “organic” on a label because of a couple minor ingredients.

Juicy Pure is certified 95% organic, meaning the overwhelming majority of its formula (the aloe, chamomile, guar gum, and stevia) are sourced from certified organic agriculture.

For a product used in or around mucous membranes and sensitive tissue, the quality and purity of ingredients genuinely matters. A lot.

My fellow testers, Chris and Alison, said that they experienced no negative reactions to Juicy Pure, and neither did I.

And that’s something I really want to highlight; I am genuinely sensitive when it comes to products, and my body will let me know immediately if something isn’t agreeing with me.

I had absolutely zero allergic reactions after using Juicy Pure. None. And I think that speaks volumes about the thoughtfulness behind this fomula.

The fact that Foria took the time to create something that is hypoallergenic AND pH-balanced to support vaginal health?

That’s a detail that makes me actually trust a product, and for anyone else who has ever dealt with irritation or reactions from other lubes, it’s worth paying attention to.

Natural Lubrication Feel

foria juicy pure drops on the back of a hand to show the texture in detail

The texture of Juicy Pure is one of the most similar I’ve found to my body’s natural lubrication, which is saying something because I’ve tested a lot of personal lubes over the years.

It’s incredibly lightweight but super effective, and even though it’s on the thinner side, it lasts exceptionally well for a water-based product.

“I was not expecting a lubricant that felt this thin to last as long as it did,” product tester, Alison, said. “With most water-based lubricants, even the thicker ones, I usually need to reapply at least once, and I didn’t with Juicy Pure.”

If you prefer that ultra-silicone slickness or something that lasts indefinitely without reapplication, this might not be your go-to, but I think it’s a genuinely lovely reset from heavier formulas.

Universal Condom & Toy Compatibility

Unlike oil-based lubricants, which can degrade latex and polyisoprene condoms, Juicy Pure is fully safe to use with all standard condom materials: latex, polyisoprene, polyurethane, and lambskin alike.

It’s also compatible with all toy materials, including silicone, glass, stainless steel, and hard plastics.

Fellow product tester, Chris, said he used Juicy Pure with silicone toys and “it made everything nice and slippery without being too much.”

This universal compatibility makes it a true all-purpose lube that doesn’t require you to keep track of what you can and can’t use it with.

For couples who rely on latex condoms for contraception or STI prevention, or for anyone who uses silicone toys, this is non-negotiable, and Juicy Pure delivers without compromise.

Free From Glycerin, Parabens, And More

Most people don’t think about preservatives when shopping for lube, but they probably should.

Many conventional water-based lubricants use parabens or other synthetic preservative systems that have raised health concerns and can contribute to vaginal irritation over time.

Juicy Pure uses potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate, both of which are classified as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) even when ingested in small amounts.

The formula is also free of the synthetic fragrance that often hides a cocktail of undisclosed chemicals in personal care products.

You won’t find any glycerin, petroleum-derived ingredients, or gluten here, and the formula is also vegan and cruelty-free.

Foria also produces a certificate of analysis (COA) for all products, and Juicy Pure’s is available to view here.

The Pros And Cons Of Foria Juicy Pure

Juicy Pure is an easy product to recommend, but like everything, it has a few limitations worth knowing before you buy.

Pros:

  • Clean, organic formula that’s actually body-safe. The 95% certified organic ingredient list, absence of glycerin, parabens, and synthetic fragrance, and pH-balanced formulation put Juicy Pure in a different league from most drugstore lubes. For anyone who’s experienced irritation, itching, or imbalance after using a personal lubricant, this is a major upgrade.
  • Feels close to your body’s natural lubrication. The aloe base gives Juicy Pure a texture and feel that’s intimate and familiar. It doesn’t feel clinical or synthetic; it feels like an extension of what your body is already doing, which keeps you in the moment rather than pulling you out of it.
  • Universal compatibility. Safe with all condom materials and all toy materials, full stop. This simplifies things enormously and makes Juicy Pure a truly versatile everyday option.
  • Washes off cleanly. One of the biggest advantages of water-based over oil-based or silicone-based lubes is the easy cleanup. Juicy Pure rinses away with warm water and won’t stain sheets or other fabric.
  • Light, pleasant sensory experience. The barely-there vanilla and chamomile scent is sophisticated without being intrusive, and the subtle natural sweetness makes it entirely non-off-putting if used during oral play.

Cons:

  • This isn’t scent-free, which may not be ideal for everyone. Your mileage may vary on this one, depending on how sensitive you are to scents. Some of our testers were bothered by it, while others were not.
  • May require reapplication during longer sessions. This is really common with water-based lubricants, not a unique flaw in Juicy Pure, but it’s worth setting expectations. If you prefer a lube that stays slick for an extended period without any attention, an oil-based or silicone-based formula may suit you better.
  • Not compatible with other Foria oil-based products if used simultaneously. Juicy Pure is water-based, and mixing oil and water simultaneously can reduce the effectiveness of both. If you’re a fan of Foria’s Intimacy Sex Oil or Awaken Arousal Oil, you’ll need to use them separately: apply the oil-based product first, allow time for absorption, then introduce Juicy Pure if additional glide is needed, or vice versa.
  • Packaging is functional but not as elevated as some Foria products. The Intimacy Sex Oil, for example, comes in a glass tincture bottle that looks beautiful on display. Juicy Pure’s plastic bottle is practical and pretty, but it doesn’t carry quite the same aesthetic weight. A minor note, but worth mentioning for the design-conscious.

Is Foria Juicy Pure Safe?

close up view of the ingredient label on the back of the foria juicy pure box

Yes, Juicy Pure is a well-formulated, body-safe lubricant designed with sensitive tissue in mind.

The ingredient list includes aloe leaf juice, water, chamomile extract, guar gum, xanthan gum, organic vanilla flavor, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, stevia extract, and citric acid.

It’s dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic, and made with ingredients that are classified as ‌Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS).

The formula is free from the most common lube irritants: glycerin (which can fuel yeast overgrowth), parabens (a category of preservatives with endocrine-disruption concerns), silicones (which can interfere with silicone toys and linger on skin), synthetic fragrances, and gluten.

Its pH of 4.5–5.5 stays close to the vaginal and anal environments’ natural state, which helps protect the microbiome of each during use.

The preservatives used (potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate) are among the safer options available for water-based personal care products and are routinely used in food products at higher concentrations than what appears in a lube formula.

As with any new product, especially one used internally or on sensitive areas, it’s a really good idea to do a small patch test first on your inner elbow if you have known skin sensitivities or a history of reactions to personal care products like this.

If you experience any itching, burning, or irritation, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider.

People with known allergies or sensitivities to any individual ingredient (such as chamomile, which belongs to the daisy family, or latex, which is naturally found in aloe plants) should review the full ingredient list before use.

Foria Juicy Pure Vs. Others

juicy pure lube bottle with its box and other foria products that include their sex oil with cbd and arousal oil

Foria makes several intimacy products that address similar needs from different angles.

Understanding how Juicy Pure compares to the brand’s own lineup can help you decide which product (or combination of products) is the right fit for your body and your routine.

Foria Juicy Pure Vs. Foria Intimacy Sex Oil

These two products share the same brand DNA — clean, plant-based, organic ingredients, designed for all bodies — but they’re formulated very differently and suit different use cases.

Juicy Pure is water-based, with an aloe vera foundation that creates a light, fluid glide.

Intimacy Sex Oil is oil-based, made with just two ingredients: 400mg certified organic broad-spectrum hemp extract and organic MCT coconut oil.

Its texture is richer, longer-lasting, and more indulgent.

The CBD in the formula is designed to support relaxation, heightened sensation, and comfort, making it suited to slower, more intentional experiences.

However, because it’s oil-based, it is not compatible with latex or polyisoprene condoms (only polyurethane or nitrile) and should not be used with latex toys.

It’s also harder to wash out of fabric.

In short: Juicy Pure is for ease, spontaneity, and safer sex. Intimacy Sex Oil is for sensory depth and slower moments where condom compatibility isn’t a concern.

Foria Juicy Pure Vs. Foria Vibrance

Foria’s Vibrance is a different kind of product altogether: it’s focused on vulvar wellness and daily moisture support, rather than in-the-moment lubrication.

Vibrance Everyday Vulva Moisturizer is formulated with pumpkin seed oil and is rich in omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids to provide hydration that “acts as a buffer” against discomfort and chafing.

Juicy Pure, by contrast, is a topical lubricant meant for use during intimacy; it provides immediate glide in the moment, but it isn’t designed to address ongoing dryness at a tissue-level the way Vibrance does.

The two are complementary rather than competitive.

Someone dealing with chronic vulvar dryness might benefit from using Vibrance regularly as a maintenance routine and reaching for Juicy Pure when it’s time for intimacy.

They address the same underlying concern (comfort and moisture) but from different angles and on different timescales.

Why Trust Our Review

Our approach to reviewing sexual wellness products is grounded in the same values we apply to everything we cover in this space: ingredient transparency, honest performance assessment, and an understanding of why these things matter for real bodies.

We’re not in the business of rubber-stamping every “clean” product that comes along; we actually look at ingredient lists, dig into formulation choices, and think critically about what a product is and isn’t doing.

We also test them out personally (wrangling our partners into our testing, but they’re more than happy to oblige!) to see how they actually perform.

When it comes to lubricants specifically, we pay close attention to pH compatibility, preservative systems, and ingredient safety because this is a category where “natural” labeling is rampant, but actual formulation quality varies enormously.

We also consider practical performance: how a product feels on contact, how long it lasts, and whether it delivers on what the brand promises.

Foria has a well-established track record in the sexual wellness space, with over a decade of category leadership and a reputation for genuinely clean, effective formulas trusted by physicians.

That credibility gave us confidence going in, and Juicy Pure didn’t disappoint: we unanimously found it to be one of the most thoughtfully formulated water-based lubes available at its price point.

For accuracy and thoroughness, we also have an expert from our medical review board evaluate all reviews.

Where To Buy

Fellow Juicy Pure tester, Chris, summed it up nicely when he said this “is a real all-around, quintuple-threat lube,” because it’s compatible with all sex toys and condoms, and it’s great for oral, vaginal, and anal sex.

If you’ve been looking for a truly versatile water-based lubricant, Juicy Pure is the one we’ve all been waiting for.
