I admire dude's like President Trump. He treats everyone equally.

I admire some things about him, but I'm not convinced that he cares about people or treats everyone equally.

Maybe I missed it, but I never saw where he apologized for the housing discrimination his companies were involved in. Did he? I'm pretty sure that he openly said he didn't want poor people as tenants. A lot of working people are poor. That was years ago and people can change, but typically that change is accompanied by an acknowledgement of wrongdoing.

He strikes me as a typical elitist politician that panders to “common” people. It'll be interesting to see how his policies on taxes and health care affect the people that got him elected.

They did come off as especially devious. And Trump seemed the more genuine and likeable of the two candidates. If that's not a commentary on US society, I don't know what is.

whoever is happy with the tax changes, it's because they are rich as Trump said "the rich are getting richer" or something like that

And those business owners were all rich people? Many business have been struggling for quite some time. Should they pass on any supposed tax relief and leave their businesses in a shaky state? Without knowing the circumstances of the individual businesses, it is hard to say if they will make a killing. Some would probably like to expand and hire new workers.

amy40 I'm apolitical and don't vote, so the only thing I ask myself is whose mouth do I want to hear least for the next 4 years. In this case it was hers by a slight margin.

I remember hearing an interview with her during the campaign. I guess I'd never really heard her talk before that point besides speeches. I was very impressed with how smooth and intelligent she was, but she had a subtle, creepy, weaseley vibe - kinda like the emperor from Star Wars. Trump pretty much is what you see...at least as much as a politician can be. He's not able to conceal his feelings or filter his thoughts well. That makes him come off as tasteless, petty, and undignified, but it's who he genuinely is.
