He is the most evil that a man can be... there might a lot many like him out there... should not matter to you right now... The only thing that you still have control over is your own life...rest all he has taken away from you... I repeat... you have to get out of this ASAP

I do get out of the car. I am just saying that is his new rule, as of last Friday.

I ran into iHop the last time he hit me... now, every time we drive past that iHop, he says, "Well, we can't go there because of what you did... because you had to tell all of iHop that I abused you."

If you have charges against him, then you have a means of substantuating the abuse. Contact COVA and see what resourses they have to offer. You should be able to get on food stamps through the County. You don't have to take a cab, take a bus. Contact Colorado Works, they can help you with job hunting. An eviction will take at least several weeks once you have missed your rent payment so you have some time but not a lot. Do you have anything you can sell to get some cash? If you are evicted its all going to end up on the curb, you might as well get what you can for it.

It sounds like you left a marriage to be with this man? And left your kids behind?

Can you talk to the property manager? Locks should be changed. They may know of someone you could clean for, that generally pays cash. Get on Craigslist and start looking. What kind of work history do you have? What skills do you have? Even if you don't feel that you have any, you can write, you can communicate. There has to be something you can do

My children are adults... 28 and 29... my son is married and my daughter is attending medical school, so, no, I did not leave my children behind... they were already married and living on their own (my son owns his own house) or in medical school (my daughter has been in college since she was 18 years old)... and, I left my marriage two years before I started dating Brian... my husband was engaged to another woman and living with her, and, my husband died almost two years ago.

His new rule is not to make a public spectacle of our "problems" (his exact words)... he does not want me to air my dirty laundry in public... so, if he makes the "mistake" of hitting me, he does not want me leaving his house or getting out of the car or leaving the restaurant (which, would be considered, in his demented, deranged mind) making our issues "public."
