    How did it go?

    Hello!
I recently had the same problem. The Physician's Assistant couldn't remove it, couldn't see it on the ultrasound, and they made me come back so the doctor could dilate me, insert a camera, and remove it. They thought it was embedded, but it wasn't. Luckily....
I was given a pamphlet of information and I read it from back to front and it did NOT talk about embedment or I would've thought twice, also my doctor recommended it since I got pregnant with my second child while taking the Pill. Also, they don't recommend it for women who haven't had children because they don't want to dilate your cervix to insert or remove if you haven't ever softened or dilated before.
So, how was your removed? I am still fuming mad because mine was removed with no pain medicine and what I am learning is that at the very least, my cervix should have been numbed....
Hope you had no issues, would love to know more!

I have read that sucker front to back also course that was 5 years now and it never said anything bout that. Now i know this is what i told the doctor after my 3rd child. I don't want anymore but was to late deciding with medicaid to get tubes tide. So I told him I can't afford nor remember to take pill same time every day I have very seldom has ins. so I need something long term that's not expensive or to much to deal with. He told me about Mirena told me the risk of it moving and all that what it consisted of putting it in. i had left my husband and then he told me he didn't want to put it in cause it's not for anyone without kids or multiple partners. If you get a std it's very serious. I think he informed me well and told me all that was in pamplet. I guess that's why there is so many different things cause no woman is the same and what may do to one may not do to other. I don't know I've had mine for the whole 5 year duration and nothing against Mirena but I wouldn't do it again for the fact i like my period we have those for a reason and it's not natural even though it's nice not natural for us to not have one. I like to have one cause if the mirena moves or anything and you get pregnant how are you gonna know in time without one?! When I got mine 5 years ago it didn't say anything about losing them all together now it does. All it said was it would slow down and be light.

          Mirena

I love mine. I got it a my 6 week post baby check up and haven't had ANY problems. Sure it felt like a pap when getting it put in, but that was it. I say if you are interested in getting it, then do so... especially if your insurance will cover it. Not everyone will have issues! Yes, you might end up being one of those that it doesn't work for, but you also might end up being one of those that it does.

            Pains with Mirena

I had my Mirena put in a month ago, it hurt. I had been expecting this and my doctor was impressed with how well I did especially since I'm still only 21 and have not had children. I had the typical pains and extended bleeding thats know to happen when a Mirena is inserted and I had called the clinic I went to to have it inserted just to make sure that what I was experiencing was normal. So far everything I've experienced has been fine and I've had no really unexplained pains or moodyness. My biggest problem right now is sexual pains, pains brought on during or after sex. My boyfriend and I actually stopped just now because my cervix went on a cramping rampage and it still hurts but it's not as bad. I've had pains related to sexual activity before but not as bad as this and not during either. I recently inserted a finger to check out what was going on and felt it seemed swollen up inside but I'm not completly sure if it is or not. I don't want to take it out if I don't have to and I plan to call tomorow to schedual a check up as soon as I can.

I don't know how active this forum is but right now I'm a bit upset about the whole thing and I just don't know what to think. It's to late to call the health center and I don't want to talk to my mom about it since she's tired and she's sick and the last thing she needs is to hear how my vagina is broken. XD I guess I'm just mostly looking to see if anyone else has had these specific symptoms as I've not had any other problems with the Mirena.

            Any posts are appreciated.

Your body has to get used to the IUD, give it a few months and everything down there will start to feel better, even during sex. I had the same problem with cervical spasms/cramping. It hurt and I bled after sex. Just perhaps lay off the sex for awhile and let your uterus and cervix et used to having something inside of it.

When my cervix felt swollen it turned out that my mirena had slid down in to it during sex and was stuck there. You couldn't feel the end unless you pushed just right. That was after 3 weeks of pain and bleeding so I opted not to have it put back in.

I have had my Mirena for almost 4 years with a period every month on the day, however I was never told I needed to check the threads so this is all new to me I dont even know how to do this. The other thing that is a huge worry rite now is I have been on anitbiotcs for a month and now I seem to have missed a period that is ALWAYS REGULAR!!! Is this birth control effected by antibiotics??? Does anyone know?
