Hello ladies.....i'm new to this board. I had the essure procedure done nov,9,2009 6 weeks after the birth of my 3rd son.i got my first period since the birth(was breastfeeding) on feb.16,2010 and still going.....i am having extremely painful cramps, headaches and just a general ill feeling. Not sure if this is related to the essure or not at this point but after reading everything on here i'm pretty sure it might be....i have an appt wednesday so hopefully will find out something then. After reading here i'm regretting my decision to have it done. If i would have read this first i wouldn't have done it,i would have asked my hubby to get "fixed".stories like this need to be on the essure website.... Thanks for everyone for sharing your stories. I will keep everyone updated on mine

I do truly wish that this procedure didn't have problems but it does. I try to pass info the best way I can. I think that anyone considering this procedure should at least look at how much money the top execs are making selling off their stock. The company doesn't have a real good rating as being viable longterm. You may wonder why I keep posting that but think about it-if this company was so great and really had the potential for growth that the top execs say it does-then why are they selling out. Just to add another bit of info about foreign objects in the body, my husband had bypass surgery 14 years ago. He had a knot come up on his chest, it turned red and finally it bust open. He went today and they did a biopsy. We are praying it is not cancer but the docs are thinking that more than likely the wire that they use to close the sternum after surgery may have shifted after 14 years. This wire is attached to the sternum so if it can move after 14 years then the essure metal coils embedded in soft tissue can definately migrate even after long term placement

Thanks to all of you...I'm not going forward with Essure!

I'll be 45 in less than a month, have stepkids 30 and 20 years old - raised the younger one from the time he was 9. My husband just turned 60. I DO NOT WANT OR NEED to be pregnant, and I am tired of hormones. I've used the Nuvaring for several years and it's okay, but just want to get the hormones out of my body, especially before perimenopause starts! (If I can!)

I was initally really excited to learn about Essure, and that there was a doctor in my town who does it. Before my appointment, I read up on it on many sites, including here. I got very concerned, especially since I have an allergy to cheap jewelry and that has been mentioned here. The Dr. had never heard of that being a problem, and promised to look into it for me. Also, he said he had done 20 of them since his certification to do them, and ~2 had failed. Hmmm! Not a great rate!

Well, his office just called to say I am NOT a candidate for Essure because of the allergy. I am grateful to all of you for sharing your stories. I think you have also helped me to teach my doctor something, and so on behalf of the women he will counsel in the future, I also thank you!

I am now looking into tubal ligation.

        Again, my sincere thanks!

            Essure Is a No No

I had my Essure done in March of 2007 and wish, I would have followed my first mind. I have had nothing but problems since, having essure. One coil has moved up further in my tube and cause abdominal pain. My sex drive has decresed and I experience alot of cramping when I get my period, as to where before, I never had these problems. I let my Doctor talk me into getting this, I so want these things out of me cause, I regret I had this done. I wouldn't recommend anyone to have this procedure, has too many problems that come along with it, that wasn't disclosed.

i am new to this site, im scheduled to have the essure done on the 25th well 2 days away. im reallt nervous, i asked about getting a regluar tubal done but my dr said he cant. iv had two emerency c-sections and have 2 T cuts on my uterus and so he was afraid he may not be able to see my tubes from the outside due to all the scar tissue, he said essure would be the safest way for me, im not soo sure now after reading this. how could he be able to see my tubes better from the inside than the outside? wouldent there be just as much scar tissue ether way? i have a lot of complactions and am a very high risk when im pregnat,i hemmorage and i have an incompotant cervixs. i also had a full spinal fusion done when i was 13 (im 25) witch also prevents me from carrying full term. i have had 2 kids my daughter lived for 20 minutes i had her at my 6 month mark and my son was born at 34 weeks he will be 4 in a few months i feel i should have the right to deside if i want any more or not and i dont, i have my one merical baby. my dr told me i was a perfect cannadate for essure because of all my scar tissue. i would like to know what other people think. is my dr just saying that or does scar tissue really effect having a normal tubal done? iv never herd of that in my life.

                Essure problems

I had Essure done Sept. 3, 09. I didnt have pain like they had though after it was done. I was fine. A month later i had the test to make sure everything was right and it was. The die didnt go anywhere. I held within a month. But the doctor that did it could only do my left tube. The right side was already blocked. That was the mean reason on doing the test after a month. After the test i had cramps and started bleeding. Everymonth after i started a day or 2 late that was fine. When i started 2 days in a would have really bad carmps. Well in dec i start on Christmas what a nice present i got. That friday i got sick was taking meds to get over it. Well i didnt know that it had ibuprofen in it. so i bleed for 2 1/2 weeks. Well the next month when i though i was going to start i didnt i was a week late. Sence then i have been a week late. Well this month i start on the 10th and ended on the 17th. my periods on late me 4 or 5 days. I have had 2 kids and i really dont want anymore. Thats why i choose essure. Well yesterday I started bleeding again. I thought it could have been tylenol. I take tylenol for my headaches or pain when i have it like cramps. Im still bleeding today. I would have read all the post here but thats to many to read and i dont have the time to do it. My Question is, Has anyone ever had problems like mine and what should i do? I dont have full insurence its through dcf and its call share of cost ( medically needed.) So the only place i can go is the Hospital. I have though about it all night and day.

What did doctors do for women who had C-sections before essure metal coils came along. I personally have never heard of them not being able to do a tubal due to scar tissue. Maybe someone else has but it sounds bogus to me.
I cannot recommend the essure procedure because in my opinion there are too many "IF"s with this procedure. Can they place them? Will they stay in place? Will the tubes occlude? Will they migrate? I have found evidence to suggest that the company is offering doctors huge incentives to do the procedure if the doctor will perform at least 24 procedures per year. I personally feel that my doctor used my body to either gain experience or meet his quota. It is your body not the doctors. You must decide what is best for you. You are the one that will have to live with the metal coils not the doctor, not me so do some research and don't let anyone push you around. Do what you feel most comfortable with.

Hello Ladies! I had my essure procedure on January27th, 2010. This day is my second birthday. The anestiologist gave me too much anestesia, they couldnt wake me up for a while, when I finally came back, I was in so much pain, my tubes were spasming so much, I went into a chock from the pain. They use adrenoline shot into my tide to revive me. I was in recovery room for 5 hours. I could barely walk, my body swells for extra 10 lbs. The next day I had fewer, a lot of pain and look like I was 6 month pregnant. Its been 2 month and now I have pain in my left side. I still didnt start my period, I use condoms all the time with my husband, because I don't want to get pregnant again. I'm 41 years old and have 2 daughters. If I only saw this forum, before I done this procedure!!! I regret doing it. My Dr. told me everything is ok, its just rare that happen to me. I don't believe it. I don't know what to do next?

well i went ahead and did it i did not know what else to do, they gave me valuim percocet and adavan( im sure thats spelled wrong) + 800 mg of ibproven every 8 hrs 24 hrs in advance. i could feel every single thing the dr did. iv never been in so much pain even when i had contractions. i had it 4 days ago and still can hardly move if i do move to clean or something im bed ridden for the rest of the day i have a very bad pain on my left side and have had a temp of around 100 all weekend long. the dr had complcations while doing the essure procedure. there was something wrong with my cervix they could not get it to dialate or something so they just kinda pushed though and my left tube they said they had to go into at a werid angle. you would figure with all the pain meds i would be out of it. and i was till they started then i was compleatly clear like i had no meds in me at all. i am going back tommaorw so he can check me out. my stomach is swollen and tender to touch. iv spotted very very little and ususally only after i go to the bathroom, witch i have to do asap cuz holding it hurts very bad to. the dr said i was the first one of his patients who had complcations. im still taking perocet and ibproven if i dont im in alot of pain. i cant even wear jeans i can only wear pj pants. i dont know if he can take them out or not but i dont want them any more he can just take everything but leave my ovarys so i dont have to take hormone pills. i dont wanna know what will be in the furture if iv only had them for 4 days and its compleatly ruling my life. i cant even pick up my 3 year old son to give him hugs or anything.
