Thanks, My husband is ok. I posted about his chest wire because I think that it is important to know that no matter where they place metal & how long it is in place problems can occur. I actually never thought about the wire they use in bypass surgery as being a potential issue. Especially after 14 years. My understanding is that when they cut the sternum open to do the surgery they wrap wire around it to hold it in place. I believe the sternum eventually heals but the wire is left in place. As I've stated I haven't done a whole lot of research other than to google it & find that yes it can cause problems. I'm thinking that all they will have to do is make an incision right where the place is & just remove that portion of the wire. It does not hurt him. Since it does not hurt him, it just is an angry looking red spot with kind of a little hole, he thinks there is no need to do anything. I guess I need to do some more research on that topic. I just thought some women might find it interesting about the metal wire since they use metal coils for essure. -

Krisylee,
I too had serious pain/cramps initally on the right side within a week of my essure implants. The symptoms continued to worsen. I never had these symptoms prior to the essure implants. I agree with Kym4, you know your body, and mine was due to the implants because after mine were removed, all of my symtoms were gone.Comment

mzjellis,
I am not sure if you will be able to find a doctor to remove the implants if you are not having any medical complications, and if you do it likely will be considered elective and not covered by insurance. So, just make sure that you check on this before you do it. Mine was covered simply because it was coded as "post procedure pain". I ended up having a tube removed on one side, and if both tubes had to be removed, then you would not need a tubal. However, removal is risky as you could face a hysterectomy. So, make sure you think about it before you make a decision. It was very difficult for me to decide what to do, even though I was in severe pain, as nobody could guarantee that I would not lose my ovaries in the process. very scary! Good luck.Comment

thank you
Hello all,
Thank you for the updates within this posts... the horror stories, the success stories, and the successful unexpected pregnancies. I have believed the information presented by Essure for the past 2 years, and now find myself in a very scary and odd situation. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow to find out if I'm one of those hidden numbers that they are under-reporting.

[I] feel your pain. I had an IUD put in June 2009 4 weeks after my 3rd child was born and in February I was a few days late and YES I am pregnant. 15 weeks now and saw a specialist and was told the IUD is embedded sideways in my cervix. He thinks it will need to be surgically removed. That really sucks but they have assured me the baby delivery will be fine. I talked to my Dr. today about the Essure and she said she would do it. I am sure glad I saw this post. I hope all will be well for you.Comment

I am 23 years old with 2 kids and had the essure procedure done Kaiser Permanente. It is sad to hear the horror stories but truth is every body is different hegith, weight health issues.
Everthing with me was as discussed 15 minute procedure no complications, minor cramping when I had the HSG.
My friend also had this procedure and her body rejected it being that her lining was too thin as she had had 3 abortions before; she was on the table for 3 hours before they told her she would not be able to receive this treatment.
So ask yourself what have you put your body through and where are you getting this procedure done? I love everything about it! no pain no cramping lighter period! its perfect!Comment
