    Finally free of this problem!!!

As a woman, this is one the most uncomfortable, embarrassing, and frustrating problems to deal with.. I have had the misfortune of dealing with it for the majority of my life. I have been to many Doctors, and have tried many products, both prescribed and over the counter. I recently stumbled on what appears to be a new product called, "Lavada". Anyone suffering from this problem should look into it. *Removed outbound link*

    Good luck!

        urgent need of answers

first off, about a month and a half ago i had a sinus infection that came back about two days after i stopped my antibiotic. i started a new one after that. i am on birth control, and taking antibiotics makes it inneffective. i had unprotected sex when i shouldnt have so i took plan b the morning after. i took it on sunday and got the usual side effects (abdominal pain, nausea etc). just yesterday i got really bad cramps and i woke up this morning with greenish yellow discharge that was not very thick. it smells horrible like rotten fruit or something (not fish). i had been itchy on and off for a few weeks also. i have only been with one partner my whole life and so has he. it is currently 5:00pm and the color has changed to a pale yellow. can anyone help me?? i dont know what it is!! it cant be and std because i havent had sex with anyone else. does anyone know what i might have?

I replied to a post regarding a discharge which I think may also help out with chronic BV. With BV and taking antibiotics your vaginal ph will fluctuate so please read the following reply:

I am not a health care physician so please do not take this as any form of a diagnosis. If you want to learn more about probiotic supplements before taking please talk to your health care physician.

So glad to hear the Apple cider vinegar has been working for you I bought some and have been scared to try it. I have been dealing with BV for 11 yrs and it's been I was just wondering if you have changed you diet in anyway along with the vinegar.

It's probably too early to update, but I've stumbled on something that seems to be helping a bit. It will probably make some of you think 'ick', but hopefully that will just be an immediate reaction. Anyway, I'd been reading more and more about the health benefits of washable cloth menstrual pads, and thought I'd give it a try. The biggest down side is the initial expense, as I didn't to buy enough for a whole period, then decide it wasn't for me.

But, anyway, to some extent you have to take a risk, so I have had one period where I was using these washable pads for about half of it, and another period where I used them for the whole thing. On the period where I used the washable pads for the whole thing, I expected my BV to start on day 3 as it always does without fail, but it didn't. I got a yeast infection, but that's nothing new - I'm plagued by those too. So, I'll be trying it out again this month, but so far all I can say is that for the first period in I don't know how long (years probably), I didn't have BV start during it - there was no odour whatsoever, in fact.

Recently I was looking for organic options since I like using tampons a lot and have been reading that they probably contribute to BV as well. What doesn't? So I stopped using tampons and went back to the normal pads just so I could help the situation by removing a possible contributor to the problem, while I wait for my order of organic tampons, liners and pads to arrive.

The truth is I hate pads and even the ones I used, Always, make me irritated. I just don't like them.

I have seen these washable pads as an option but they are not one that I like. I already hate disposables, much less. But if organic feminine products help the situation, I'm all for it.

I do think, however, that using washable pads is not an option I'd want to explore. I suppose one would have to be extremely careful how they are washed to prevent infections, as well as the type of detergents that are used on them. Very tedious, IMO. ANd I'm not a fan of menstrual blood, either.

Yes, washing them isn't a lot of fun!! I am washing them with the same stuff I use to wash my underwear with (I am very allergic) and, if you soak them first, they do come out of the wash clean. It's not as though disposable products are sterile - clean yes, but not sterile.

It's not for everyone though - definitely has an 'ick' factor! I'm just so happy not to have had BV for a few weeks and hope it continues.
