I was 19, it hurt when he first put it in but then was fine, didn't last too long but long enough to know I liked it. Anyhow I think it is important to wait until you are ready. By the way until he and I did it I could never get two fingers in as someone above stated, but once the guy gets you excited that is not an issue.Comment

I was 18, in my first semester at college and my roommate went home on weekends so my boyfriend (now my fiance) would visit every weekend. We'd been playing around for months before that day, and I figured sooner or later we'd take advantage of the privacy (compared to my/his rooms back home, with parents and siblings always nearby, my dorm room was a sanctuary!). I was a virgin and he wasn't, but I didn't feel any pressure to hurry up and do it.
He "slipped" during some intimate play (I still think it was intentional, though I know he didn't mean to push or hurt me - he was just as nervous as I was!) and after pausing to make sure I was ok, we had a lot of fun
It didn't hurt and I didn't bleed, but I had been masturbating for about a year and a half before that so I didn't expect pain either. It worked out well for me, since that age and time period was when I was open to a lot of experimentation anyway and had come to terms with my sexuality. I was NOT ready at a younger age, although I thought I was (and only realized looking back how unprepared I really was).
I don't think there's any reason to rush losing your virginity, but there's also no reason to wait if you know you're ready to handle the consequences. I think it's better with someone you trust and love already, and clearly it's better still if you aren't worried about pregnancy, so of course I don't advocate sex at 15 just because of the risks involved in teen pregnancies... but I can't tell you if 16, 18, 20... is the "right" age for you.Comment

My first post, thought I might as well start at the start lol.
I was 16 he was 20 and my first bf. It hurt a little but it was actually more uncomfortable. I have no regrets im happy I got it over with, I think you can think about it too much but you should definatly not do it before you are ready, nomatter what age you end up at. I was not pressured but it wasnt great, just dont think we matched, I remember thinking "thats it? Is that what all the fuss is about?" It has improved greatly since.Comment
