Something I think makes it HARDER on men (no pun intended) is that they don't have the outlets we do. It is very well known that models, billboards etc... send out bad messages to girls and women. We can talk about it everywhere. TV shows talk about it constantly. We are talking about it right now! But where is there an outlet for men to express their insecurities? I know my bf is insecure about things but he doesn't have the same kind of support system women do. Cause it's not manly to talk about self image. It's manly to hold it in and not express yourself.

I think this is comparing apples and oranges here. Just my opinion.

I agree. I was chatting to a girl the other week and one thing we agreed on, a point which she made which I have repeated here several times today is that when it comes down to the crunch, men cannot do anything about the size of their penis, whereas a boob job is a relatively safe, affordable procedure.

She said, 'I don't know what a man with a small penis is supposed to do', I replied 'earn a lot of money', and she laughed in agreement.

Women can drastically alter their breast size though, relatively safely and affordably, whereas men can't.
Men can as well. The man's penis extends under the skin and in to the lower abdominal area, look at any anatomical diagram and it will be seen that more than an inch is there. All the doc does is make an incision and pull an amount out that was already present. It is really not that big of a procedure and will cost roughly the same as implants. The difference is that men are not doing it nearly as much because they are not under the same ridicule that women are that they should go under the knife to "improve themselves". Men simply do not understand the pressure that women experience at the hand of men thinking that bigger is better. Women are not projecting that same type of intense insecurity onto men, if we were then the enlargement surgeries would certainly be more prevalent.

I agree, I never considered it quite like that.

The thing I would add is that penis and breast size insecurity both pertain to a perceived inadequacy, in that respect I believe they are comparable, the difference is as you say that women constantly have big boobs in their faces 24/7, whereas men don't suffer with from equivalent exposure. Women can drastically alter their breast size though, relatively safely and affordably, whereas men can't.

Definitely second this. There is no way to actually compare a man's insecurity to the insecurity brought onto women by men and society in general. That list of inconsistency is long, very long. Women do not sit there at dinner with our SO staring at a man's package as he walks by. Men do not have to sit there with their heads down as a woman yells "ooohhhh yyyeeaaahhhh" to a man in shorts. Women are not out searching for speedo car washes and make a big deal about wanting the car washed as soon as the sign is seen. Women are not getting into car accidents from doing the double-take stare while driving past a man walking down the street. Men do not have to listen to media advertising that only large penises are the best ones. Men are not told by women that in order to be liked they should be like the ones in photoshop pictures. Men are not constantly bombarded with "just get surgery and all women will love you". Men are not told that an abnormally large penis is the only way a man can really be a man in a woman's eye.

Through this website there are many women who state that penis size is irrelevant. From what I know outside of website, I think most (but not all) women believe that size is irrelevant. As a male, I also think this – but it did take me sometime to truly believe this (20 years ago I thought being larger between the legs was better).

If most women think this, why do they actually know, and share information about their men’s penis size – right to the half inch? There are women where that have stated size does not matter, yet they can provide information on their man’s size. I’m simply curious why? Why not actual just say things like “he is a little larger” rather than he is 9.5 inches or 5.5 inches (although I think, as an aside, that 9.5 inches is more related to mismeasurment than real). And if I may ask, for those women who have measured their men, may I ask why you would measure it - -was it, for example, your men asking you? Where you curious yourself, and if so, why?

I'm just curious and in no way mean to criticism anyone's past posts.

All men have measured their penises, the trick is to do what I do and start the measurement from the *** crack then measure to the tip of the erect penis.

When we ask girls if size matters what we really want to know is, 'tell me I'm bigger than your ex and big enough for you?' don't we? It's no different to a girl casually asking 'is she prettier than me?'.

1.) Curiosity. It's still interesting! I asked my (then) boyfriend (now fiancee) because I was curious what I might be in for if our relationship would progress to that point (which I obviously thought it was already getting there, being I even bothered to ask). It also cuts back on surprise--either way. We want to know if a baseball bat is coming out of your pants just like we'd want know if a pinky finger is. We want to mentally prepare so we don't look/act like an idiot when we finally see "it".

2.) If you're the kind of girl who talks to your girlfriends about that stuff, I'm sure it's like "bragging rights" too. Just like guys always want to be bigger than the next guy, maybe girls like all their friends to know that their man is bigger (and better--skill wise)? I'm not sure. I'm not close enough with any girls to really discuss that...not that I would regardless. That's a bit weird to me.

3.) To make the man feel good about himself. Y'all talk about the size of your boys so much, we sort of feel like we either need to hate on you for it (so you stfu), or reassure you of your size because we love you (even though most of us don't care).

I fully believe the only advantage size has is if you're bigger, you get a smidgen of an "edge"...but it doesn't make you good.
It's an art, so to speak. You have have all the supplies in the world--the best paints, the best canvas, the best pencils...but if you have no skill...it doesn't matter much.

That is the same idea with women placing emphasis on the man's personality and other qualities and not on penis size. The men who do put such focus going as far as calling a woman less of a woman because of small breasts is a shallow man just like a woman calling a man less of a man because he does not have a large penis is a shallow woman. I do not understand how someone can make fun of another person's body part when that person had no control over the size of that part, it is all genetics so that person is upset because that other man's or woman's bits is genetically small. That is not fair and hence it makes a person shallow for putting such emphasis on something that we have no control over. No control meaning leaving it natural and not forking over $10,000 for surgery.
i think if a dude got like a 2-3 incher than he may want to go that route the way i see it is u only die once so might as well be happy while ur here but I don't feel the same for woman cuz breast aren't as bad as a micro penis to me

one thing i learned from this thread is that women care about a lot of other things in men besides what they're packing downstairs and the ones that are overly concerned with that in a man are shallow
