Is it the length, the width? Is it visual or sensation? All of the above?
I gave my man my virginity, so when he told me his dimensions, I pulled out a tape measure to get a sense of what I was dealing with. My response to him was "And you wanna put that WHERE?" It freaked me out a bit. It's a given with sex that being a female; something is going inside of you. But to have dimensions right in front of you that this is going in one place, and with curiosity and comfort with a partner; multiple places, it can knock your brain around. So with oral and anal; we waited a while.

When I first saw his penis up close, (and his being the first one I had ever seen) I was shocked as to of how long and thick it was. My mind knew that the vagina can open up to get it to fit, but the mere fact of somethjing like that was going up in me, it did knock my nerves around. Now, I enjoy seeing his penis, I enjoy the thought and anticipation of being with him. But I also know the pleasures that it can give, so seeing him hard does help to start my engines, as it were.

Now that we've had a sex life for a year as of this month, I do appreciate his size. But we have also learned a few positions that are off the list because too much pain occurs. I guess the saying "every gift is a curse" can be applied here as well.

The visual sensation is nice now that we have been together for some time, I'm comfortable with him, I know him, I know what enticing things I can do to him, and his penis, to get him going, to make things exciting. I do enjoy his God given equipment. My guy also came with experience, he enjoys giving a woman pleasure, so he does know how to use it, he knows how to read me, what line of things to try that he believes that I will enjoy. So many of amazing sensations are given, but he also knows how to give them. Just because he's above average doesn't mean that he and I don't have to work to make sex enjoyable, pleasurable and memorable.
Very true technique is important. I think some guys have an inate technique, I'd say my man is one of these. We were both virgins, but he has always enjoyed giving me pleasure.

I don't remember ever having any discomfort even when we were throughly inexperieced, not even the first time very first time. We haven't hit any "bad" positions yet.

Do you think the 'innate' technique you speak of could be a combination of sexual, emotional and spiritual compatibility? A more perceptive man (and I haven't always done this) will also be in control enough to observe the women's responses and adjust his technique in order that he is using movements which she responds the most favorably to.

Agreed. My msn's always been a gentleman, in all senses. We waited a year before we lost our virginity. It was always about making sure I was ready. Not at all.the "typical" 17-18.year old guy. Though, I'm not sure how much was just goof, old-fashioned fear, my dad was a cop.

I guess my husband is considered average and he pleases me well enough, though I do fantasize about other men with larger penises.

I always enjoy reading when someone says my husband,b/f, "is the best" yet you have only been with each other ??? How would you know if he/she is the best? (just saying) Now not trying to lower the level of that, it's awesome to see and hear people remain so true to a romantic partner. Size Size Size ...you hear so much about this. Men very insecure, women thinking maybe bigger would be better, funny how the mind works. I wrote a book about "Players" and they are the best men (usually) a woman could sleep with if your just looking for sex. Why? Facts have shown because of the numbers of women they have slept with, perfecting their game, and of course the bedroom experience. Now being a small guy myself and just above average in size I can tell you making love to a woman mentally will ALWAYS overcome any so called size issues you may have. Now for you women like Palerider above, most men who are "Large" have huge egos, lack mental, and physical performance because they believe being large is enough (true fact) you are much better off staying with average and introducing toys for a once in a while size thrill. Most women will agree average is better. Communication, experimenting, learning together will always prevail ! "peace all"

I agree that if you have been with only one person, you can not say with merit to your statement that their partner is the best in bed in the whole wide world. BUT, they can make the statement that to them, their partner is the best. Every person has a right to feel as they do and if they believe their partner is good for them, good to them; then they can say the statement that their partner is the best to them in their own opinion.

I have have only ever been with my current boyfriend, and I have absolutely no want to be with anyone else. I enjoy the fact that he is the only one I have ever been with. The only one I have let so close, the only one I have had those experiences and memories with. People have said that "one day" I will want someone else just once to satisfy curiosity about other men. While I can not promise what "one day" will hold, I know what I feel now. And I have no want to sleep with someone else just to compare them to the man I love. I have no wish to be compared to other 8 women my boyfriend has been with before even knowing my name. So there is no reason in the world that I would want to compare him to someone just because I chose to give him my virginity and he is the only person I have ever had sex with and made love to.

My own personal take on people's obsession with size only comes down to mindless stereotypes. I am sure that not all men who are hung like a horse believe that they just have to stand there and thrust back and forth and it will be mind blowing and the girl will remember him and that night forever and compare to it every man she will ever meet from there on forth. Some might be, but like I said; not all men.

I think it all comes down to an understanding of the human body; both male and female, and the want to give pleasure to both sexes. You have to learn about every person that you are with. We all have those "special spots" or if you're like my boyfriend who has no turn on spots, (which sucks and is a rip off!) but it's more of how you kiss him and things done to his equipment that get him going and in the mood. Those are learned, you have to search to find them, you have to read the person. That takes effort. Effort, care; in my own personal opinion those are needed in order to have an enjoyable sexual experience.

Best is so subjective. There are no universal metrics for comparison. Even a person who has hundreds of sex partners would generally have trouble saying who was best. Having more partners probably just makes things less clear. For a person who has had one partner and that partner has been everything that they want physically, emotionally, etc.; that person saying that their partner is the best is probably a more honest statement than one from somebody with a lot of partners who is comparing what one partner did against something quite different that a different partner did.

As in anything I say or write. It is never meant to offend anyone. Not their beliefs, opinions, not even when someone gets on the defensive side. There is in fact no best, maybe a best at the moment, or best in a particular time, or like several stated above best for you. I could throw out facts and figures, and a lot of other B.S. about the so called players or guys in which jns says is less clear about who is best. But to what point? Quoting jns " For a person who has had one partner and that partner has been everything they want," Is Exactly my point, having had only one partner, how do you know what it is you prefer, like, need, want. I could describe numorous times a woman told myself "Oh I don't like that, or that does nothing for me." And I ask have you ever tried and get a response of no. Later for that same person to say " Omg I never knew that turned me on so much." When I talk about a guy or even a woman with many partners. I talk about the experience they have acquired over time. The next partner they are with, it is easy to adjust, find what works quickly, be extremely good at it. Compared to a person who has one partner, knows just what he/she likes. Example: even here we all have heard about the guy that always goes down on her and women are always pleased, but now he is completely lost with the woman that doesn't care for that. Now a guy with a lot of experience would know instantly she is more of an inside girl and move to more positions, speed, intensity. Referring up to element, what I discribe above isn't something I personally condone or say is a must. Quite frankly I despise the rude, selfishness of man or women to treat others as I describe these so called players. To intentionally use, mislead, abuse, another humans heart. I will praise up anyone having one partner, being happy with themselves and their mate. Marriage and relationships are very important to me and some day maybe I will get into that here. "my own story" but for now I try to help those I can.

I think it's a good chance they're insecure. There's no question that the premise is wrong. It's possible that someone who's been with 1000 people will still be curious about others. It's not a given. Especially so if you're conscious of the fact that multiple partners can cause problems. I haven't been with a lot, but I wish that my wife and I had only been with each other. Then we could work on things without "ghosts" of our pasts.

Also, unless you've slept with every single person on the planet and have kept detailed records and ratings, you can't be sure who the best is. And then, how would you know whether or not you caught them on a good day? How do you know that a deep connection wouldn't have made the difference? If commitment, shared experience, and all those things that go into a relationship contribute a lot to the pleasure of sex and you have it with one person that makes you feel wonderful, who else in the world could reproduce it? Doubting someone who says they have "the best" overstates the importance of physical, in my opinion. It's important, but it's not the only thing.

I understand that. I know all about the male ego. That said, toys aren't the same as feeling the real thing. For all I know, I might not like having a larger penis inside me. But if I ever get around to having sex with another man, I'd at least like to try it just to see what it feels like.
