I think if I ever decided to try being with a woman, in a relationship, not just for sex, it would not be because I had turned against men. I really love men, in most ways, and don't even mind most of the things that I don't quite understand about them generally. I love their bodies and their strength and how they're different from me.
The reason I would consider "changing teams" is because the men I've been meeting simply cannot measure up and it seems to boil down to immaturity. Having a relationship, and having our needs met with a partner is the key, and sex itself is just mechanics. Now, by that I mean the sexual gratification-the act. The emotional needs and intimacy can be built with a person you bond with, male or female. I can have a great sex life with a man or woman, or by myself I suppose-maybe not...
But having a PERSON to share your life and times with is what I really want, and I believe if I found that experience with a woman, I could change my sexual experience as well.
To clarify, I'm interested in men primarily and want a good, strong man for sure. I'm not looking to date women but I no longer rule that out.
I've been attracted to women, and I don't think it would be difficult to form a relationship with one, the more I've thought about it.
So, I think most women are choosing to be with women for reasons similar to mine. (Those who change their identity) Maybe their experience was like mine-The majority of men available are not able to meet their needs in sometimes many ways, physically, mentally and emotionally...
So, thought I'd put that out there...
I'm not under any expectations that all women would be able to suit me either, but it opens up more possibilities. And I have no idea of my ability to satisfy a woman either.
And for those who'll ask if my expectations are realistic for a man: I think generally they are-probably need to make some compromises in that area as well, but generally I don't think I'm setting too high a bar for a person to meet.Comment

This discussion is enlightening and disheartening. It shows, anecdotally, a significant difference between the sexuality of women vs. men. Generally, a man who has made a bad choice in a female partner will search for another -- rarely will he seek out a male to provide him with what was missing. Many of the women responders would be open to and have even jumped at the opportunity of "expanding the field."
Growing up as a male in the last 20 years has been very different from what I experienced as a boy. Gender roles far less defined today and very confusing and inconsistent. If he is too strong, he needs to be more sensitive. Too sensitive and he is a wuss. He competes in the workforce equally with women but needs to check the competition at the door. I don't feel sorry for boys today, but I can relate to the confusion. My 20 year old son, much like me but uber bright, isn't the "bad boy" enough to attract the women he wants.
I sure hate to see incredible women like the ones here give up on men because we are driving them away. A lot of what we respond to here shows poor choices rather than the inherent inferiority of men. I am far from a homophobe, but have never wanted to,give up on heterosexuality. Frankly, it took me until my mid 40s to figure out what I needed in a lifetime partner and once I understood me, it didn't take long to find.
There are wonderful, sensitive, strong and mature men out here. Really."The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you." Despair.com "Dysfunction"Comment

I believe there are effy, I do! But, figure the odds of finding one, then figure the odds I will be physically attracted, the odds they'll be attracted to me, the odds that all the other things are in line as well, ie, compatibility and personality, etc... It's just that the odds are against us, or me, at least it seems.
I figure I'm a fairly strong woman, and it will take a strong man to be with me. I don't know many who are up for the job
. Insecurity on their part or something relating to that, seems to be creeping in. Women, I have found are stronger and tougher these days...and don't seem to experience those qualities in their female partners as frequently.

I feel for your sensibilities effy, but I really think this is just an is-what-it-is thing. Women (for whatever reason, those debates notwithstanding) are just okay with other women as partners much more than men. It may be a bit unfair if you're going by numbers and stats, as women will thus have a lot more people to choose from, but ....okay, it's also unfair that we have periods and men don't, etc., etc. Point being life isn't fair, and there's no obligation to level the playing field here IMO. (I know you're not suggesting we try to do that, just addressing the 'cosmic injustice' of it all.
) You win on monthly pain and suffering, we win on orgasm frequency, etc. So it goes.

I was attracted to women somewhat young. I remember the first time I kissed a girl was on the playground in elementary (well, she kissed me), I believe my first love was a female. She was new to our high school, we were friends first, then I couldn't stop myself from falling head over heels for her, we dated for a little while, and she was my first sexual experience. Ahhh, the good old days. :P ... since then, I only dated a few other females, but mostly guys. But I do love looking at those pretty ladies! Probably more than looking at guys. lolComment
