I think experience is very important. But there are other factors. If a lover isn't that interested on me, he may give me just the minimum, just enough to satisfy himself, take no initiative to pleasure me.

Isn't like this with everybody? I can be awesome in bed, but sometimes I'm just doing the minimum necessary for mutual enjoyment, instead of going 100% into the act. It can be I'm just tired, or not in the mood and having sex just because my man is horny. Sometimes I'm in pain (health problems not related to sex).

If a man isn't too attracted to me, too turned on by my body, perhaps he won't care for my needs. He may be able to be a great lover. He's just not in the mood to be great to me.

Well in a way if you with your partner you want that person to be some what experience. But if you with a promiscuous lover then you shouldn't really have to worry about having to teach that person how to give pleasure. You can both enjoy your self with each other sexually then.
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.

I disagree. I had to teach the promiscuous guy that I dated how to touch my clitoris properly, how to finger me, and how to eat me out. He then said, "I'm not used to a girl with one special spot." While this promiscuous man that boasted of being a womanizer, other men that weren't anything like him were the ones that knew how to properly stimulate the clitoris without me having to show them anything!

That is a great point. I think most of us have discussed the extremes -- a plethora of partners or none at all. To me, being promiscuous means indiscriminate sex rather than lots of sex with one partner. You can certainly be experienced and practiced without being promiscuous.

Same. I had a friend tell me, "Where are you meeting all of these promiscuous? Most people I know aren't." The statistics say that hook-up culture isn't prevalent as we think it is. I would be curious to hear other people's point of view as to whether they feel that promiscuous people are the majority. In my family's culture, white-Americans are unfortunately stereotyped as very sex-crazed and not caring about marriage/family. I don't agree with that stereotype fully, but I wonder where that stereotype came from.

Well, then my earlier point is now valid, and we'll have to define promiscuous, if you want to hear other's points of view on promiscuity being the majority. What may be promiscuous to one, certainly isn't to another.

Well, I am certainly sex crazed, so I fit the stereotype. I just prefer to do it a lot in the context of a loving relationship. I also care about family. So 50/50 for me.

I think I described promiscuous in an early post, but I will be more than happy to do it again. Promiscuous to me is having a number of partners within a short time, and being indiscriminate. For instance, my female friend that had no problem sleeping with various men that are already in relationship. Or, my bartender friend that's sleeping with different women every week from the bar he works out, while he's in a committed relationship with a woman that has no idea about his habits.

Funny! Oh, my family's country is sex-crazed too with all of the babies they're popping out. They just want to blame it on someone else.

I just received a text message from one of my promiscuous female friends saying she got diagnosed with dissassociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder).

I wonder if anyone else knew someone with that?
