For many parents the idea of their children being sexually active, regardless of their orientation, is a problem. I have a good friend who's daughter came out in high school and while they were fine with the knowledge that she is a lesbian, they were not fine with the idea of her having sex.

Their daughter is now in college and in a serious relationship and they are thrilled for her and really like her girlfriend. For them it was a matter of her age more than anything. I don't know what your parents or your girlfriend's parents feelings are. But as long as you are under their roofs, you have to follow their rules.

Sweetie some people have a real problem with anyone who things differently than they do. Given time they may start to feel differently but not knowing them its hard to say.

Some parts of the country and many cities are open open to gays and lesbians while others are down right awful. As you get older and out on your own it would probably be best to find a way to live in a part of the country that is more accepting. I know its hard to be with someone you are attracted to and love but sometimes we don't have a choice.
