jns what about the guy's girlfriend/wife downloading pictures of like hot celeb guys onto her phone or watching porn that was centered around some good-looking guy (though that may be hard to find as most porn is all about the woman in the video)? would that help someone addicted to porn see how it's a little disrespectful?

I don't think it would bother them, because they understand more the aspect of looking for lookings sake and being able to detach from it. What they can't grasp, it seems is the wanting to be the one LOOKED at, the wanting to be special and sexy to the one you love. To me, the only thing anywhere near close to the same thing/equalizer of a persons's s.o looking at other girls porn pics is for a girl to make porn pics for other men BESIDES her s.o. to look at.. which is somethign completely unnacceptable to most men. Its okay for them to fantasize about some random woman, but they sure as heck don't want their woman to be one some random guy is fantasizing about.

For MOST women ... looking at porn pics doesn't fill the need it does for men... as is reflected in the porn industry being primary geared to men... sure that is changing but its men that are funding that industry, and thats just a fact.

Women, many women, of course not all... but many thrive on attention, on being pretty and sexy... thats the reason women will spend hours on make up and hair, will wear uncomfortable shoes and why we fund the diet industry... we want to look good.

And attention... look at all the young women on my space etc.. that aren't making a nickel off showing their goodies off to any guy that wants to see, its the 'oh you are so hot comments' that they are doing it for. There is no shortage of girls from young to old willing to take their top off or push their cleavage out / butt out in pics. Playboy and even the cheapest porn rag on the shelf has their pick of women... its not just the damaged, broke or drug addicted that want to take their clothes off.. women are lined up around the corner for a chance to be seen naked.

Men will never understand what it is to be a woman and the pressure to look beautiful, and when they give their all to a man who is willing to hurt their feelings and make them feel worthless so that they can ooh and ahh over some pic of some girl that wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire ... they don't understand how insulting it feels and never will. Yeah, they manage to make J/o material out of a sneaker ad... sneakers geared to women, that women will buy even if the commercial makes them feel awkward having to stare at butts with their family for 70 seconds while they were just trying to watch an 'amazing pets' show. But its how almost everything is... shampoo, women having orgasms in the shower to the scent of the conditioner (yeah, that happens ... derrrr)

I am not a prude at all.. I just think there is a time and place and the media thinks we need to see vagina dangling out of drawers to help us decide which toothpaste we want to buy. I don't think women should have to be all covered, i think some ads can be sexy, but how about perfume ads or lingerie ads... let those ones be sexy, but I fail to understand why EVERYTHING from petfood to hemmerioid cream has to be marketed with boobs.

Its just the way things are, and I accept that it won't change... but being that things are the way they are I think men should be a little bit more understanding of some of the insecurities women face, we probably face thousands of subliminal and not -so-subliminal messages daily of how we are just not good enough.

Heck even the women they are using to show us we aren't good enough, aren't good enough and are photoshopped and airbrushed beyond anything they really are.. watch the youtube clip "Dove Evolution" for an example of the way things are.

I think if they quit photoshopping already drop dead gorgeous women, some men wouldn't have such an unrealistic expectation of what beauty really is and women could quit starving themselves, and going under the knife to try to meet some societal expectation that is truly unattainable without digital alterations.

I think companies, whether its beer or make up that use photoshop to alter the beauty of their models should have to put in bright red letters on the ad that this image is not real. I wish there were a movement to stop the photoshop nonsense and both women and men were able to see people as they really are, I think women would have far less insecurity and some men would start to realize what a real woman looks like.. a real woman doesn't have light beams shooting off her rear with not a single bump, bruise or dent of cellulite.

I hear men, and even my young teenage son , say "ick" about s a womans cellulite or some other 'unsightly' human trait trait captured by paparazzi (britney in a bathing suit, how fat she is now!! type thing)-- they are not use to seeing that with all the miracle of airbrushing and I've had to explain to my kiddo that the women in magazine ads are like cartoon characters, no one in real life is flawless.
