I am experiencing the same thing right now. I have been in dr for the last week giving blood to check hormone level to find location of pregnancy. It has cleared and is in the uterus. I had the procedure 8 weeks after my sons birth this past December. The procedure went well, no pain, just heavy bleeding after(which I think is why it might not have worked as expected). Now another 3 months later I find out I am pregnant. I too loved the procedure just very sad this happened to my family which was NOT planned and that we have to make a tough decision on what to do next.

        re: essure failure....

i had the essure procedure done early dec 2010. i had light cramps like 3 days after and it continued for a couple of days max.... motrin 800MG knocked the pain to a minimum for me. no pain ever since then. got the hsg done 3 months later. had bleeding for over a week. called the doctor they said it should go away. if not by the following monday, to come in. well i stopped bleeding over the weekend. so i didnt go in. hsg was fine, tubes are supposedly blocked..... but it has been well over a month, and technically i am 3 weeks late........ tried a pregnancy test, looked very faintly positive to me, but husband said there was no faint line..... so i will wait another week or 2, and see what happens...... so in the sum of it all the only thing that has happened that has surprised me is the no period on time. (i've been having my periods since i was 9, and they are totally regular). so either my body refuses to have a period or essure failed and i am pregnant, and its not showing up.... and yes i am tired, and im eating more, and im even gaining weight... so we will see.) oh im also only 25 years old with 2 kids. 1 and 3

Essure- DO NOT DO IT! Insertion failed with lots of pain

I wanted to share my experience on the Essure procedure. I am a 36 yrs old female with a very healthy lifestyle with no health issues. I had the Essure procedure and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. My OBY/GYN is board certified with an extensive amount of experience. Basically what happened was that they tried to insert the coils. First the right coil has almost impossible to get in and after about 20 minutes of sheer torture, it finally inserted into my tubes but the left coil (after many attempts) would not at all go in. My left tube was sitting at an angle. The procedure hurt so bad, worse then both of my c-sections and now I am stuck with only 1 coil in my body which serves no purpose. 3 days later I had to have a tubal ligation anyway. They could not take the coil out. If you try this procedure there is no guarantee both coils will successfully take and even if they do, your body could reject them later and you will have to have them surgically removed. I wanted to share my story so that
any one considering this will give my story strong consideration in not doing this
procedure. EVen after they numbed me the pain was beyond extreme. The tubal
ligation surgery & recovery was actually LESS painful then what i went through with the failed
Essure procedure. I have a very high tolerance for pain and exercise everyday. Please don't put yourself through this.

I totally agree with you. I had mine done 4/15/11 and it was STILL a nightmare and did not work. I hope more women read our post of the misery we went through and become discouraged and elect not to do this . There are just way too much complications that can go wrong as with both our cases.

My friend and I have both been seriously injured after being implanted with the Essure device. We have consulted with the firm of *Removed contact information*. They are in the process of doing a full investigation. If anybody out there has questions or needs help, we recommend that you call them.”

                essure failure

Hi, I would like to say that I have done alot of research on essure and I would not recommend it to anyone. In fact it should be removed off the market. My sis-n-law has 3 boys and two years ago after her third she had the Essure put in. She had been hurting in her ovary area for several months and cramping really bad. In Jan of 2011 she went to the er with horrible pain and a missed period which had never been normal since the Essure. They did a preg test and told her it was positive. It is not in her tubes. The pregnancy is normal but she has bleeding in her stomach from where the essure came out and punctured her insides. She now has to go through an unwanted pregnancy and deal with the horror of internal bleeding untill the baby is born.

                  My Essure Nightmare:
I had my procedure done yesterday. (May 23rd, 2011) When they gave me the two shots (the shot to help with cramping and the birth control shot) and the valium they left me in a dark room with a TV where I fell asleep. I have no idea how long I was asleep as there were no clocks to be seen. When the nurse came to wake me up and take me to the exam room I was give the injection and they left for some time. (again no clock to be seen) When the doctor and the nurse returned they started the procedure and I have never in my life been in so much pain. I felt like I was in a horror movie being tortured with a ice pick. I gritted my teeth and bore it. After the procedure was done I was finally able to see the time. I went in and had the two shots and valium at 11:30am. The procedure was compleat at 1:30pm. 4 hours!! Long enough for the valium and the shot (whatever it was... water for all I knew) Seems the doctor was delayed by something more important than me and that caused me to endure the procedure without any medication or sedation. I've now learned that getting the follow up test is also very painful. If I'd known then what I know now.... I am now as of today cramping pretty bad and have a throbbing ache in my lower right side of my back. This was the most traumatic experience I have ever been through.

I went to get the essure done yesterday. Instead of it being a 15 mintue procedure it took a hour. It was painful like contractions but I could handle it. They could not get thru either of my tubes. They seem to think that my tubes tied themselves naturally from scar tissue from a previous coneopsy surgery. SERIOUSLY am I suppose to go off my tubes have tied naturally?? Has anyone else ever heard of this? They said its the 2nd time they have ever dealt with it. I have to go in two weeks and get the HSG done and it will let me know if there tied. If there not I have to get the normal procedure done.. HELP?? Has anyone heard of this??? Or been told they there tubes cant be tied once they already did the procedure??

                    Thanks, Autumn
